I just gave away 5 brand new boxes of lights to Purple Hearts, someone else will get better use out of them than me.
I have a few boxes of light rope I'll likely give away, was going to use it on the patio which I never use either!
 
Nope no fishnets, they don't look good on SHORT legs

I want the holiday to be extra special this year..I have some great things happening
and I want to reflect on where life was a year ago..Those who know they made a difference this years tree will be a joy to put up...
I have health..great kids..great friends..a job(or 3)..fantastic special someone(KLL)..
2008 looks grand.... | |

Posted: 11/12/2007 9:38:16 AM | Actually, I know most people find this kind of weird, but I hate the smell of real tree, so I always prefer an artificial. I know, it's just not normal....but is anyone really surprised at that with me?????

I prefer the fake tree as well, not because of the smell, but the mess! My living room has carpet and don't feel like picking all the pine needles out.
Funny.. I'm sitting here typing this message and a plane landed and taxi'd back out to take off again, the pilot is dressed as Santa!!! Made his radio call as "Santa One departing one zero at Morrow County"!! | |

Posted: 11/13/2007 5:38:39 AM | Normally, we put up our Christmas tree and decorations sometime after Thanksgiving. The tree is first, then the rest of the decorations. The outdoor stuff goes up whenever the ground isn't frozen. Depends on the weather.
This year is the exception. Since, I'm divorced now. My son and I put the tree up last night. It's a pre-lit tree and when one light goes out the rest stay lit. BUT, I have a few ornaments that connect into the bulb sockets. Last year, when I took the tree down I neglected to replace the bulbs. Ya, it took me 1/2 an hour to remember that!! But, overall it was a good time for me and my son. He had a good laugh at his old man.   | |

NEVER a fake tree either for me it's gotta be a real tree or nothing at all. I will never have a fake tree. It's just not the same. I'll deal with the mess and the hassle it's only once a year.
This year I'm wishing like crazy for a white Christmas. It would be my first EVER! I hoped for it last year but got a white easter instead lol not quite what I expected~! | |

Posted: 11/9/2008 7:05:17 AM | Wavfact, We play that same game in my family. Everyone brings a gift. It can be a good gift or a white elephant. All evening long the gifts are exchanged or stolen from one another. At the end you may have a good one or not. Theres been a hawaian shirt thats been going around for years.LOL
My tree used to go up the first week of Dec., but I like to go cut it down. I've been divorced for a while and just don't have all the spirit I used to have for it.
I had a cat that took the tree completely down one Christmas eve, very memorable.LOL | |

Posted: 11/9/2008 10:15:51 AM | the tree is now a small decoration I hang on the wall. As I rescue cats there are too many little ones running around the house to attempt a tree. Last time the tree lasted about 2 days.  Maybe a large photo of a tree on the wall. | |
