| When does your Christmas Tree go up? Posted: 11/10/2008 2:59:08 AM | | I'll be putting up a tree this year for the first time in about 10 years now. The tree I have is almost 20 years old now so I plan on replacing it with one of the newer pre-lit trees that are hinged. Since we have kids at the house every other weekend now I have a reason to put it up this year. | |

| When does your Christmas Tree go up? Posted: 11/10/2008 5:05:22 AM | Typically mine goes up Thanksgiving Morning before we head to my aunts to watch the parade and have lunch. My son and I have actually debated about not goin through the hassell of putting it up this year. Wasn't going to last year but it was my grandson's first Christmas and when my oldest wasn't able to be home for the holidays I put it up and kept it up till February when he came home. This year I may not find a reason to put it up. With a 1 year old and over anxious dog in the house this year it would be less stressful to not have it up.
Maybe there is a bit of the grinch in me this year!

| When does your Christmas Tree go up? Posted: 11/10/2008 5:46:38 AM | I pulled our tree out of storage this weekend and it is sitting in the spot where it will go up later this week against my better judgement. I hate seeing the decorations in the stores this early and would prefer to wait until Thanksgiving to put our tree up, but my 14 year old son has been begging to have it for 2 weeks now. I was shopping at Tuttle Mall Saturday and noticed that Santa is already there and it really upset me. I told the people running it and taking the pics that whoever made the decision to have Santa there so early should be ashamed.
I have re-gifted things before and I don't see a problem with it...as long as it is something I think the person would really like and enjoy.

| When does your Christmas Tree go up? Posted: 11/14/2008 7:23:08 AM | Joni^ I like the way you think!!!
I used to be all bah humbug but for some reason this year I am all about it. For about month now I have been buying gifts here and there and I find myself so much more cheery, even singing all the stupid songs from the Christmas station. I am living now between Brunswick and Columbus and found myself bummed on the 12th when I came home to Brunswick because the Christmas station up here doesnt start until after Thanksgiving (well the last time I checked anyway). I will be putting up 2 trees this year one for both homes, not sure when they will go up as it is a matter of timing, time whats that?
Previously Dennis wrote:
We use to play a came on Christmas when all our family use to gather on Christmas eve. Forgot what it was called, but everyone would put a gift in the center fo the room. We would all sit around it and draw numbers to see what order we went in. Then you would pick your gift, open it and you had the option of keeping it or stealing someone else's gift that has already been openned. That was so much fun! Now we all live a million miles apart so haven't played that game in some time.
Dennis I think we should have some type of POF Christmas party and do this, but put the white elephant spin on it and bring unwanted/regifted gifts. You should host this at your house....LOL

| When does your Christmas Tree go up? Posted: 11/15/2008 1:18:23 AM | Hey Dennis!
I was always given advice from Momma to decorate 30 days before the event of happening, so being the 25th, I try to do it the weekend of Thanksgiving.
I always have a main tree, particularly with family traditional memories, and something my daughter and I spent time together doing, playing music and singing, and eating endulging foods, lol
I have a small tree in each room with themes, i.e.; Snowmen , Angels , baking/goodie tree in the kitchen, or whatever I feel in the mood. I usually have a small tree around resembling the most important holidays throughout the year that I enjoy.
A piece of advice regarding your cat: Last year I did an upside down tree hanging from the ceiling. Yes, a conversational idea, but it looked awesome and out of the way from pets!
With just losing my Mom this past week, I have a lot of reasons to follow tradition and remember "our" Christmas time joys with decorating the tree. But remember the reason for the season..........CHRISTmas (Our Lord) and Love!

| When does your Christmas Tree go up? Posted: 11/30/2008 5:56:49 PM | Just to add to When does your Christmas tree go up, what kind of tree topper do you put up and is it a lighted one?
I was setting here looking at all the stars, angels, santa claus, and other tree toppers, looking for a new one.
I'm thinking of sticking with the lighted star.
