| What made you smile today? Posted: 1/6/2009 7:39:59 PM | OK - I SMILED just NOW when I read Naughticals' POST because she is RIGHT!!! ALSO - my car was towed away this morning 'sick' and it is now back at home with me safe and sound!
Thanks!!! | |

| What made you smile today? Posted: 1/8/2009 7:07:24 PM | Glad your car is okay...pretty quick service. (sorry I was a "meanie" in my previous post, bad day)
Smiling today because my sister (lives in Port St. Lucie) drove up and spent the day with me. We had a great time. Finished the day off by eating at Red Lobster and I am stuffed.

| What made you smile today? Posted: 1/8/2009 11:18:46 PM | Smiling today because...
FINALLY connected with someone (from another dating site) and found out that he is the brother of someone that I was friends with and went to elementary school with. Now how is THAT for a small world????
Can you tell that I am excited??
Smiled because my hair looks and feels GREAT because of this wonderful cold front that moved in unexpectantly. Wow...my toes are frozen!!! Where's are my "foot sweaters?" LOL
Also...smiled because was thinking of Naughtical taking home her cheese biscuits in a "to go bag" from Red Lobster...lol (Remember Naughtical...they heat up better in the microwave after sitting at room temperature...lol)

| What made you smile today? Posted: 1/9/2009 11:05:59 AM | ^^^Thanks Beth, a girlfriend of mine (old roommate) was a waitress at that one way back when (way back)! There's not too many of them left around and every time I drive by (quite often) there's lots of cars there. I dated someone for a while who liked to go there occasionally, we'd sit at the bar. I used to take my son there sometimes when he was younger so he would do his homework in the booth and I got to have a glass of wine and relax (or try to) while waiting for our dinners.
(there used to be one at Glades and 441 but no more)

| What made you smile today? Posted: 2/4/2009 3:06:15 PM | I am going to start out with what did not make me smile today.
This weather! What's up with that? This is Florida...The Sunshine State! The sun must be broken...it was out all day today but it darn sure did not work.
Temperatures are expected in the 20's tonight, wind chill factor about 15. I do not have the clothes for this. I don't own any thermal underwear or even any gloves!!!
My car does not like this weather. It gets mad at me for wanting to even start it and gives me trouble. When it does start it runs rough and quits at red lights. It's a bigger baby then I am when it's cold.
Oh, yeah...what made me smile: I have a roof over my head, a warm roof and I have "warm" food to eat. So do my kids, grandkids and all my loved ones. That makes me smile.
I wish I could smile for everyone in the world.

| What made you smile today? Posted: 5/27/2009 6:10:52 PM | I went to a restaurant with my daughter and two granddaughters today. We had such a good time and the kids were so precious. They are 8 months and 3 years old and were perfect little angels (not always the case). Almost everyone who walked by stopped and commented on them. That made me smile. My beautiful daughter told me how much she enjoys spending time with me. That really made me smile. | |
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 5/27/2009 6:42:20 PM | Had to fly up north for a week ( family stuff ). Stayed with my son right about Md./Del. line , flew in this afternoon, got home at 7 pm. to-- my own personal space ( house ) --- my own personal bathroom -- my own kitchen , --- and most of all my blend of coffee ( which no one carried ). Having a cup right now, as I type, now that put a smile on my face. Roger | |

| What made you smile today? Posted: 7/30/2009 6:16:08 PM | I was in Winn Dixie trying to keep from spending too much, as is my habit. I'm not supposed to be allowed in a grocery store because I always get the cart that things jump into when I'm not looking. It's usually the one with one flat wheel.
I spotted my 3 1/2 year old grandaughter in one of those carts for kids that they can pretend they are driving.
She saw me and got all flusterd, yelled Papa! and her smile lit up the room. That smile melts my heart and it made me smile and laugh. cool!
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 7/30/2009 8:00:54 PM | Fluke...thanks for reviving this. Your granddaughter, huh? She is pretty special. Wish I had been with you.
I just got through reading this entire thread and that is what made me smile today.
I can't help but wonder where some of these people have gone to. It was fun seeing names I had forgotten about. The ones that are no longer here I hope they found true love and are living happily ever after. Those that are still here but quit posting in the FL forums...
COME BACK!!! I MISS YOU!!!

| What made you smile today? Posted: 7/31/2009 7:33:57 PM | WHAT??? NO ONE SMILES ANYMORE???
I smile everyday...over something or the other.
Tonight I am smiling over a nice dinner I had. Went to a little hole in the wall place near my house, tonight was all you can eat catfish. It was delicious, I just wish I didn't take that "all you can eat" so literally...I'm stuffed. Listened to karaoke while eating.
A complete stranger (a gorgeous blonde, late 20's with big boobs) came to mine and Fluke's table. She was a little intoxicated and kept saying how much she "appreciated us". "What do you mean?" I asked her. She said she appreciated that it was obvious we were "in love". I think she wa suprised to see "old coots" like us holding hands and sneaking kisses.
Now the part that actually made me smile:
Fluke pretended he didn't notice the big boobs.

|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 7/31/2009 7:38:48 PM | What? She had big boobs? Why didn't you tell me?
I'm smiling because you know me so well.
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 7/31/2009 8:44:59 PM | You two bringing this post back..And Naughti's little story was enough to give me a BIG SMILE!!.. thanks guys.. Seeyaa!! Dan | |
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 7/31/2009 10:16:36 PM | A gorgeous blonde, late 20's and big boobs and Fluke acted like he didn't notice? That is true love.
Plus you got to eat a lot of catfish too... or was that another night?
Sorry I may have had one glass of red wine too many.
But I smiled a lot tonite dancing, but now I'm hungry.
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 8/1/2009 3:29:49 AM | Hallie, glad you got to dance a lot. I am hoping to do the same in a few weeks also. That always lifts the spirits
Right now though, I awoke feeling better than I have and finally feel I am truly healing from this surgery. I feel so good in fact that I need to remind myself not to overdo it so that I relapse. Wish I were going to Lakeland tonight, but that might be pushing it. After the stitches are removed on Tuesday, I will probably feel more like partying then!! NO PAIN PILLS FOR TODAY (I can just tell)

| What made you smile today? Posted: 8/1/2009 6:36:47 AM | Naughty: I think this will make YOU 'smile' as well!! I am spending the day today out at one of YOUR favorite places: ANNA MARIA Island!!!! I am going to play 'tour guide' for someone who has NEVER been there!
Any suggestions??? (I thought lunch at the Sandbar for starters)!!!
| |
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 8/1/2009 11:08:41 AM | Naughtical......you and Fluke are inspirations to all of us who know you and have had the pleasure of actually meeting you both 'in person'!!!! That makes me smile!!
One more thing makes me smile today,go read my post on DOG POUND thread Naughtical!! Doesn't take much to make me smile!!!
MK......glad to hear you are feeling better today.
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 8/1/2009 4:26:10 PM | Ohhhh, Leslie...wish I could have been there with you. I absolutely loooove Anna Maria Island. I read this too late to give you any advice but the Sandbar is a great choice. A little upscale from what I remember but a great view. I love the piers on the north end of the Island. The Rod and Reel pier has an upstairs with a great view and some pretty good food, however, not too much room to walk around on the pier itself. Some serious fishermen there.
The Historic Anna Maria City Pier is where I really like to go. The pier stretches way out into the water. You can get a cold beer or drink outside and enjoy being "on" the water or you can go into the restaurant and have a good meal. I have watched dolphins play from there many times. The bad thing about this pier...it is verrrrry long and has no guard rails. Haven't figured out why the walk out there is easy and the walk back is downright scary. The dang thing sways back and forth. Hope you had a good day. Let me know.
Sandy, thank you! I tried to look at your post on the party thread but it appears to be gone??? Glad I saved some of the pictures to my computer.
Thinking about the island, Sandy's compliment and Me Leona and her red wine all made me smile today.
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 8/1/2009 4:37:43 PM | What makes me smile Naughti,is that I still have 'all' the pics on my computer and in our 'private' location for all to still see and enjoy!!! | |
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 8/2/2009 11:28:47 AM | I had a phone call from the oleDog himself and that made me smile. It always makes me smile talking to good friends. | |
|
| What made you smile today? Posted: 8/2/2009 4:13:55 PM | Cant ... after he talked to you he was at my place with Kat & LadyDawn ... we had lunch and then went swimming. Wasn't sure I was 'up' to it first thing this morning (something about tequila shots at Woodstock last night), but the time everyone was here and I was smiling and so glad that they all could make it over to share the afternoon.
Thanks you 3! | |

| What made you smile today? Posted: 8/2/2009 4:53:35 PM | | What made me smile today was finally meeting a dear friend that I met here on POF more then 4 years ago. She has always been there for me for advice or just someone to listen to my on again, off again past relationship. To finally meet someone that has been a true friend for so long on-line and on the phone was a pleasure put off to long. Had a great time with her, her sister and nephew at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. | |
