Today I smiled because the sun was shining & I got a different perspective of a troubling situation.
Today another young man made me feel better about who I am & the decisions I've made in my life.

Posted: 12/4/2007 6:41:31 PM | ahhhh, today...........i finished putting up my beautiful christmas tree.........then since i am in central florida and not buried in the snow.....i did some much needed yard work.....the sky was bright blue.......the birds chirping.........and i pulled weeds the old fashioned way, on my hands and knees.......good to get my gardening gloves dirty and NO round-up for me........trimmed the hedges, bagged it all up and even managed to get some christmas lights out side..............BIG SMILES......for getting so much done on my day off.........
also got a big kick out of one of the forums.........about what is the one big turn off on a first date........ as funny as some of them were.......i have been there and done that......many smiles from that forum !!

Posted: 12/16/2007 6:54:29 PM | The weather forcast calling for rain, and it was raining when we started kayaking towards the beach through the estuaries, the rains stopped, sun came out and we spent a beautiful sunny afternoon on the beach with clouds everywhere but overhead.....

I was the last one to know there was a cold front moving through my area!!! Going to be in the 30's tonight...brrrrr. Not really happy about it, just made me smile that it snuck up on me.

Posted: 12/19/2007 7:31:42 PM | I work with at risk and low income youth...and we had a food drive that ended Monday. One of my little girls came up to me today and asked if she could still bring in food for other kids that dont have food either. (her dad was laid off a few months ago, he is a single dad raising her alone) I told her the food drive was over---but it was very sweet of her. She said: "But the food you collected will run out after Christmas, so I will bring them in soup for New Years."
That little girl made me smile............ (and cry) lol | |

what innocence.... Children learn how to be a special person by the way they are raised or brought up and in this little girls heart she is being taught the gift of giving and the rewards of love ... this is so nice to hear ... I thank you jersey girl you helped in making me smile as well today... but the thing that made me smile first today is knowing my baby called me this morning, and that I am loved and thought of..

Posted: 12/25/2007 10:04:38 AM | A call in the night from a poor relation. She had some extra money and called her closest friends and realatives and asked us all over for Christmas dinner.
It was a last minute change of plans but it made an otherwise dull day into something special.
It always makes me smile when good things happen unexpectedly.

OSU fans fishing in Cajun land was odd, but, what the heck. They offered me bait. Took out small rod (only one I had) and ended up with 10 nice redfish. Eating them and thinking about the nice OSU fans that helped me out gave me a smile. | |
