I would move to Stratford and I am going in just as soon as my youngest finishes highschool (he wants to finish at his current school).

I was born in Hamilton, grew up in Grimsby, and have lived in Guelph for 30 years. I love Guelph for its friendly people and the fact that it is a small enough city that you can find your way around quite easily. There is also a variety of clubs, entertainment outlets, theaters, and churches. I am not enjoying the gradual depletion of the farmlands for cookie cutter housing developments though!

If I had to live somewhere else, I would choose either the St. Jacobs/Elmira area, or the Goderich/Bayfield area. Peterborough would also pique my interest.

Truthfully, I dream of retiring on Vancouver Island, in the Courtney/Duncan area. My absolute favourite part of Canada.

Toss up between one of the islands on Lake Nippising (so peaceful, isolated, quiet, no drama, and you can actually eat the fish) and Ottawa, wonderfully cultured city, easy to get around. Then again I have very fond memories of Waterloo too....

Hi all,
I love Mississauga. It's a great place to live and easy access to your needs, shopping, schools, city centre, etc.
I love it here. Also my family is here so no where else I'd rather be then with them.
I'm in the beautiful Creditwoodlands area. Lots of nature here.

depends very much on the job market but based on "like" alone here's my list in no particular order:

guelph
waterloo
stratford
goderich
caledon
king
aurora
newmarket
richmond hill

generally speaking i prefer SW ontario to the GTA.
the north is too cold and eastern ontario is too secluded from bright lights and big city enjoyment that i like every now and then.

Born in Windsor , I have lived in London, Hespeler ( Cambridge now days), Barrie, Alliston, Etobicoke, Belle Ewart ( Lake Simcoe} , Sturgeon Falls , Creemore and now Brantford since 1995.

City, country and cottage setting, the one I have detested the most is the city. Could live very happily in either country or cottage country. If I could live anywhere, I would pick either Creemore again, Kincardine , Powassan near North Bay or the Thessalon / Iron Bridge area.

I like rolling hills, country , near water. Somehow got stuck in urban, flat land with no lake within 30 miles.

Loved the life style up North, frendly easy going people, mist coming off the ponds in the morning, storm over the lake at night, fresh fallen snow and no traffic jams.. I aim to get back there with in a couple years. !

If for some reason I couldn't stay up here in Muskoka where I love it and plan on staying for the rest of my life.. then we'd probably move down to Leamington at least then we'd still be close to family.

I've lived in a number of places and I don't think I've had it any better than I do right now. I have a stream across the road from my house, a stream that runs in the springtime behind my house, no streetlights to muddy up a starlight sky, more cows for neighbours than people. I'm 10 minutes from town and 20 minutes from the nearest city so I have everything I could need a want at my fingertips.

If I had to pick another place to live it would probably probably be in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph/St Jacobs area. I love my country livin' too much to want to change. The scenery out there, the history and the sense of small town would make it just about perfect.

Well ever since my family got our cottage up in the Haliburton area I have just fallen in love with it! I think i might even marry it someday

We used to have a cottage up in the Muskokas and that sure is a great area to live full time or to have a cottage but they say the Haliburton area is "The New Muskoka" and I can see what they mean!

There is a new development being built right across the lake from my cottage. With the cost of living getting to expensive in Toronto and in the GTA many middle aged persons and even some young families are considering moving out of the city to the Haliburton area. No need to commute to work as they will have all the technology you need to get online or whatever you need to work while being surrounded by Haliburtons breathtaking scenery!

In some ways i like the idea but I sure hope it wont make cottage country..cottage city! I am sure the local residents feel the same.

I may consider moving up there to live but All the doctors I see are in the city so Im staying in Thornhill for now lol.

Hope to get up to the cottage this winter too maybe do some ice fishin or snow mobilin'

I was born in Stratford, but have lived in London, Ancaster, Hamilton, Kitchener and Toronto and I'd have to say if I had move to another place in this province it would be either Ottawa or Burlington area.
Burlington for the convenience of location (basically an hour or two away from everything).
Ottawa because of its beautiful parks and canal (as some else mentioned)....also close to Quebec.....got all those "Mont ......" for skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer.

my suggestion, at least though the eyes of someone who has lived in Stratford for the past 7 or so years, don't move here, honestly, theres nothing to do once the festival finishes up for the year, and when its on, you have the tourists... although that might just be because im only 20 and i have my whole life ahead of me

hmmmm, where would i move, out of Stratford to a larger community, probably Cambridge or take the big leap and move to T.O.

I would buy an island in Temagemi. The most serene I have ever been in my life was 10 days spent there alot of years ago.

Once I moved to Dunnville in 1990, I thought I'd only ever leave it in a pine box. I absolutely adore the serenity of being just two blocks away from the mouth of the Grand River, and one kilometere away from Lake Erie. What bliss, but still with a hospital and large grocery store at your fingertips. Hamilton and Welland are only 35 minutes away, close enough to have satisfied any occassional spurts of lust for bigger city anemities.
Now true love dictates I move to Fort Erie, lol. Definitely a most fortunate turn of events on a personal level, but I have to admit I tear up when I go for walks along the waterfront in what I have for years considered to be my final place of residency.
I am slowly learning to find the more isolated spots along the Niagara River and the lake whenever I take yet another load of boxes to Fort, hoping it will help ease the transition. But we are also talking about buying a place a little more "countrified", somewhere in this area in four years, when he retires, so overall I can't really complain.

Dunnville may not be everyone's first choice, but omg, all of us in Ontario are blessed to live in such beautiful "God's country". We have it all. I could live just about anywhere in Ontario (within driving distance of a small town), and feast my eyes every waking day on the beauty of our scenery. It's why I roam the province camping, every summer.

If I were to live wherever I wished It would be someplace that never sees snow.

Since it must be ON, someplace on a lake or river in southwest of the province, maybe near Point Pele.

i like the area in which i live although it is getting too busy for me now as it has lost its rural heritage and now is just a suburb.

I actually really like caledonia area, brantford, simcoe. a bit more country would suit me fine too, like scotland area. i don't like cities, absolutely detest having to go to GTA. i like sort of a small town feel but enough amenities to keep me amused..which is why i like hamilton and brantford...both have this small town feel, and i always run into people i know in hamilton, and yet both offer me more than enough variety in options for shopping, events, nature, etc. and prices are good in these areas for living. oh, and good highway access, train access to toronto, bus access, etc. so that i can get out of the area if i need to without a hassle.

I base my reply on my knowledge of cities I have lived in , or visited .

Have lived in :
London , Windsor , Seaforth (not sure if its a city or town ) , Kitchener , Waterloo , Whitby , Oshawa

Have visited :
Cambridge , Stratford, Toronto, St Thomas , Orillia, Pickering , Ajax , New Hamburg, Clinton (not sure if its a city or town ), Sarnia ...I'm sure theres more but my memory fails me .. that dam age thing

To make a top choice , it would have to be Kitchener . Although raised in London , and currently live in London . Most of my late teen years and early adulthood was spent in Kitchener . To me it feels most like home in my mind . Of all the cities I have lived in , I found people the friendliest in Kitchener .

I want out of Mississauga in the next couple of years (here until my daughter finishes high school) but am not sure where to start. Don't want anymore snow so was thinking of somewhere along Lake Erie. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd love to live on or very near the water.

Thanks for any suggestions!!!
