I became Scuba Open Water Certified last summer...can't wait to go diving this coming summer!!

I have ended up in the emergancy room a lot and have had more surgery than I could handle but it's all worth it. I would rather die falling out of a plane or falling off a cliff. No pain no fear. | |

Posted: 3/3/2006 3:12:07 PM | living life to the fullest? i think it means living life with both eyes wide open. seeing all of the splendor right in front of us. the scenery...the animals...the kindness one stranger extends to another...everything from the beauty of a rainstorm...to the innocence of a child. to be grateful for all experiences we may have in this life (good and bad) learning from them, and sharing that knowledge and understanding with others. i know how stupid and simple this sounds, but i truly believe it.
there are many ways to get to this point, this is how i gained that persective. i have a serious illness...this abrupt change in my life sure mellowed me out and forced me to see what is truly important and worthwhile in this life. gone are my moments of yelling at trafic that's not moving fast enough for my liking...now i just enjoy the scenery and the trip...(unless it's to get my drawn for the 10th time that week). there is so much to be grateful for, and as i've found, it turns out that most of us have alot more wonderful things in our lives than we think we do.
i guess it means enjoying as many moments that you can and making the world a little less lonely....... | |

sometimes though..some people take this as a no strings, no holds barred festival of adult games...and that usually goes with "open minded"..uh huh... D | |

Does it imply they don't have a shut off valve or line they would stop at? They would try anything at least once? Open to new experiences? Maybe are irresponsible and not realistic or don't have the same responsibilities as myself?
Come on ... what a cop out line!
As soon as I see that in a profile I roll my eyes because it turns me off!!!

You say you roll your eyes at people who have that in their profile. But maybe if you got to know them, you'd realize what they mean by that saying. It may have a different meaning for different people.
To me, living life to the fullest does not mean being irresponsible. I'm a very responsible woman and have done lots in my life. I don't regret anything I've ever done, I learn from it. Living life to the fullest means live each day as if it was your last. Don't take anything/anyone for granted because you may not have it/them tomorrow.
Living life to the fullest doesn't mean jumping in front of a moving train. It simply means go out and do the things that you love to do and do it now instead of pushing it till tomorrow if you can do it today. Live for the moment! I could go on and on, but will leave you with the following quote that I live by!
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present.

Does that mean that some don't life their life to the fullest? and what is full? in this context anyway? Maybe just a wrapitallup cliche to contain all the stuff about you that you simply don't want to put into words?
Live life a little less than full!.. makes more room to stick some more stuff in there!
It's different for everyone. To you it seems, you want to live a full life by not living a full life. | |

means jumpin on the trampoline with all the kids and play popcorn....lol..
means layin one big bed with 4 kids an have pillow talks..which is our all time favourite
means spending time with friends and family
means doin the things you love to do like gardening an etc
means goin out cause you can....
means doin things without relyin on others to do them for you...
means living for the moment
means sittin at the water park..watchin the sail boats go by an enjoyin the view
means goin for drives an listening to your fav tunes an enjoy the scenery
and so much more....i love all the responses....great stuff!!!!!!  | |

But not everyone can afford to "live life to the fullest". Most people are just doing the best they can and are trying to stay afloat. Most people can't afford to go on an African safari or climb a mountain.
Eh, it's something rich, famous, fortunate people say. Most people don't actually do it.
Yeah, sure see the world. Sure. Most people can barely afford gas anymore.
Eh, I may form a band. Yeah, that's it. I'm working on a short story too. Maybe that'll do it. I'll become rich and famous and tell everyone about my rags to riches story. | |
