| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 3/12/2008 6:05:09 AM | Sometimes i'm clean shaven, sometime I have a goatee or a full beard, sometimes I just leave the little tuft under my bottom lip. I'm not hiding anything behind it, thats a load of cobblers...Thats like saying all women with long hair have fat necks!?
I don't like shaving & when I do i'll get the odd spot.
It shouldnt matter how a person changes externally as long as they stay beautiful internally.

Men who look for slim girls and rule out larger girls are apparently shallow but girls can rule out a guy based purely on facial hair ?

What about Chuck Norris? nobody would DARE ask him to shave. Or Kimbo Slice and his beard is Massive. Theres also Abe Lincol, Che Guivera, Earnest Hemingway, Van Gogh (although he was a bit off his nut), John Lennon and recently Conan O'Brien. The List is endless and includes at times, George Clooney and Brad Pitt, who I know you women swoon over.
Personaly I think Beards make men look distinguished, which is why I grew one. A big one. and to every woman who thinks food gets stuck in it, you couldn't be more wrong. As long as you don't eat like a slob, you should be able to keep food out of it. I mean, if us bearded gents catch food in our beards, what do people without beards do? I guess their food just spills down the fron of their shirts, because as we all know, it is unavoidable that some food will miss our mouths right?
rediculous! | |

| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/14/2011 8:26:53 AM | Yes but if you spill your food down your chin, you will probably know it's there, and whipe it away with your napkin. Then your shirt goes in the wash, but after going out for a meal off you go clubbin unaware of the chip stuck in there. ugh! As long as you like yours, super. | |

and did you think, in resurrecting a UK thread, that you would draw lots of attention from Canadian females as to how handsome (debatable) you look?
By the way, if a Canadian does 420, why is it not classed as doing drugs, when in the UK its a class B drug?

| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/14/2011 10:17:37 AM | I have changed my mind about beards since i was that Stinkerbelle chick. I quite like them nowdays, something sexy about a bit of stubble that has gone past the stubble phase... Put a bit of hair conditioner on it to make it soft though or it can irritate a lady in places that shouldn't be irritated

| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/14/2011 6:33:02 PM | I've found myself finding beards more attractive since I last posted in this thread, I don't know why. I've always liked men with hairy chests and thought the designer stubble look was good, now though, beards are getting sexier. not the full blown Father Christmas look, but something neat and tidy. Maybe it's because (most) boys can't grow beards, it's a man thing. | |

| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/15/2011 12:23:47 PM | I want it on record that that because I have a beard that does not make me:
1) Jesus 2) A serial killer 3) A viking 4) 170 years old 5) Bill Oddie 6) A 70's Geography teacher 7) Charles Manson 8) A German philosopher from the early 1900's 9) A cannibal 10) Only recently released from a Soviet prisoner of war camp that was forgotten about for the better part of a century
But it's very important that people think that I am.
Also I'm glad that the majorty of women don't find beards attractive, because I don't want the majority of women, I only want one.

| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/15/2011 2:43:00 PM | It's all to do with personal hygiene really..someone who doesn't have a beard could be..
itchy, scratchy & mostly smelly on any part of their body..Ewwww!It doesn't bare thinking about really!

| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/15/2011 4:47:58 PM | when they are still short they arent smelly i dont think I agree they aren't smelly then, they aren't long enough yet to catch his (her) lunch-overspill or beer-dregs... however as with all men who have short beards.. they GROW! lmao.. If I dated a short-bearded man it would only be for around a week (or two?). If he would accept a liquid diet fed through a straw I'd maybe reconsider? I'm kidding of course!
Sorry Big Hairy Rob! I don't like kissing a man with a moustache either - it tickles up my nose. Doesn't take away from their attractiveness in the least though! :)

| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/16/2011 1:15:35 AM | Why on Earth would a beard be smelly? It's hair for goodness sake, as long as the owner takes the same care of their beard as anyone would do of any body hair then there is absolutely no reason for it to smell. People need to stop going round tramp sniffing!!
My other half has a fairly long goatee beard, he washes, conditions and straightens (yeah that bit is funny to watch) it. It never smells, and he never looks unkempt. He has quite a weak chin for a man and he knows it's not his best feature, so the same as anyone else would do, he works with what he has to make himself look good.
Yay for beards.. | |

| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/16/2011 2:23:27 PM | | Im sorry but i hate beards,to me there a complete turn off and make a man look older than he is.... all the women i know say they wouldnt be with a man with a beard either! ORF with the beard lol | |
|
| Stigma related to beards and beard growth? Posted: 1/16/2011 2:48:22 PM | Long beards are smelly? that's like saying every woman with long hair stinks! At least you can trim or cut a beard, I hate tattoos on women but finding a woman that's not covered like a marine is proving ever more difficult and you can't just trim them off.
v v v v v v v v Ha ha ha no offence to you hun I know tattoos have their meaning for people.

and did you think, in resurrecting a UK thread, that you would draw lots of attention from Canadian females as to how handsome (debatable) you look?
First off, didn't know this was a UK thread, i honestly just searched BEARDS in the forum browser because I thought (and rightly so) that i would be able to find a few women's opinions on full length beards. as for drawing attention to how handsom I am, that wasn't at all my intention but thanks for publicly insulting my looks for no apparent reason.
By the way, if a Canadian does 420, why is it not classed as doing drugs, when in the UK its a class B drug?
I personnaly don't consider smoking pot to be a "drug" in the way other drugs are classified. I put it right there with alcohol, coffee and cigarets. technically these are all mind altering drugs, but if I were drinking a cup of coffee I wouldn't say, "I'm doing drugs" I know this doesn't belong in this thread but I felt I had to address it.
