Of course you think the Shaq trade will work out. But asidef rom that like I said we'll see how it goes. If he's motivated it could go well. But shit happens when a big man gets old.

I saw some pretty funny answers I must say, but I cant disagree with others.
I know most will not agree, but I think Celtics will not take the ring, nor will they get to the finals (maybe by luck).
First on the east there are not many teams that can beat Boston Celtics, but you have to agree that they just cant win Detroit in play offs. Whoever has been following NBA in the past 5-10 years knows that Detroit was building that team for years, and that when it comes to play offs, they always deliver. Its hard to say that it will be a blow out, since Boston cannot be underestimated, but I dont think Garnett, Pierce and Allan (of course others, but its the Boston's big three) can match years of experience of playing together like Billups, Hamilton, Wallace and Prince. Also Detroit has a better Center - McDyess was among first blockers in the league for the past 10 seasons, as well as he is a good jumper. You might think of him as a sub for Ben Wallaca (who is in Chicago now), but he is doing a lot more then just blocking and jumping (like Wallace), he is also a strong shooting weapon for Pistons. Its clear that these two teams (Boston, Ditroit) are destined to play together in easter finals (if not earlier), but it should be also clear that Detroit has a 70-30 chance of winning.
I am going with Detroit on the east coast.

For the west my favorite team is favorite of winning it all, and if you still dont know who I am talking about I will just say that doctor Dunkan will once more prove that he is one of the best players in the past 10 years, and that is one of the few playing legends. When playing to their fullest San Antonio just cant be matched, and although the whole west got better from the trades, there is not a single team that can match San Antonio's starting 5.
Duncan is the best leader, best player, and smartest player of today, and he trully is playing smart basketball (I am European, so I see SA games as smart, tacktifull, and good for eye- although others might disagree). Greg Popovich proved that he is one of the best managers of all times, and he is the strong reason why he has so many good players on his team, without ever beeing in calary cap problems (no one wants to leave SA, although Parker and Ginobily could easely find a bette paying jobs).
I think that SA will once again conquer west, and meet Detroit in the finals.

The finals will once again belong to SA, as will the title of new NBA champion.

Well nice opinion.. haha. But i dont think Duncan is he bes tplayer in the NBA. Id say hes the best leader, and the best clutch player right now though. HE always finds a way to make a bucket or get someone else to. THat being said. The Celtics have a great chance of beating the pistons... Look what the Cavs did to them... and that was with just Lebron... The big 3 will take it to them pretty hard. Nuff said. But they're split 1-1 in the seiries so far. So who knows.

well it is too bad i have no idea what the previous poster was saying but i am sure i would of got a chuckle out of it. jason kidd is now on the mavericks in the latest twist of strenghtening the western conference. this is going to be very interesting how all this plays out. spurs are now in 4th place in the west in my opinion

Jason Kidd is not a Mavs yet. DG blocked the trade. I believe it will go through eventually with a few tweak. A nice deal for both side cause Nets is not going anywhere and get a young point guard now. And Mavs want to win right away. It will be interesting for Mavs because they have every tools to win. All they lack is a true leader.

short term that might work with kidd going to the mavs, long term they ( mavs ) are giving up to much in my opinion, it doesnt matter in the end with or without kidd the spurs are still the best team in the nba.

Yeah Kidd is not a Maverick lol. So there you go with that. But Cuban will trade Van Horn to complete the deal, and just take the luxery tax.

Knicks is the worst..

teams like Heats or Wolves are bad, but as least they have a superstar (or potential superstar) and some young guy who has tons of potential

All Knicks has is overpaid bum. David looks good because Curry and Randolph are too lazy to get rebound. Crawfold has some playground move but he has no clue on what he is doing, so do Nate..

Knicks is doom..but at least they are trying to get rid of Marbury, Curry and Randolph

Yes. I agree. Spurs are still my favorites. Even if they arent in 1st. The West standings are so tight right now its unbelievable. No one can afford to lose. On that note. The All Star Weekend has been enjoyable. I liked the Celebrity All Star Game. TO can ball. Thats for sure. Master P and Prime Time did great too. The Dunk Contest was pretty good to for once.

Agreed the Dunk Contest was terrific (D12 had some sweet dunks and the birthday cake was hilarious!). A million times better than the NHL Skills Competition for sure.

the west has gotten realy interesting i cant wait to see what shaq , gasol , and kidd are going to mean for there teams .i'm hopeing shaq can elevate the suns to th championship , if he can stay healthy it gives the suns the half court game they have been lacking when the game slows down , and stat ets to move back to his natural postition of power forewarg .
gasol brings another weapon to la's arsenol and makes them a better team , and kidd gives dallas what they have been missing in a true point gaurd , and some one other then dirk to be a leader .

shaq looked alright last night , and amare had a fantastic game, it was a tough loss yeah but i think once shaq gets a full grasp of the offense then this team will be even more dangerous , shaq showed last night he is going to be able to run up and down the court last night .

I see some familiar names up in here And i think it's tough to predict the out come of this season just yet.. So many teams are playing good Basketball , personally
i like the Bulls it's ben my team since 1985! But being the basketball junkie that I am
got to say the team to beat is still the Spurs, but the Lakers too me are looking pretty impressive the addition of Pau Gasol, and the bench contributing some good minutes
+ they got the best player in the league. you got to be worried bout them Lakes.

Detroit,Cleveland,Celtics,Orlando my top 4 in the East.
Lakers,Spurs,Suns,Houston, my top 4 in the West.

Ncaa hoops! It's all about North Carolina!!!!

HELL YEAH its about UNC. Thats what im talkin about baby. As for the NBA. Shaq did better than I thought. But the best part about him and that game last night was his Intro Video on the jumbotron. The Suns will miss the Matrix weather they want to believe it or not.

i dont think we will iss marion , in oast years he was a big name . but he didnt wantto be here anymore and be the third option and thus wasnt realy contributing. i think the biggest thing for the suns is that the are going to have the half court game when the game slows down ,
