No Crib for a Bed

29 October 2001

Sleep is a time to forget
as the mind escapes frustration
enveloped into another place
where time has no realisation

Perhaps in an optic darkness
given a more natural surrounding
yet enlightened within
the soul of invisibility

A colourful environment
where the victim
turn on themselves
in a haunting multitude

How man is created
to expand their outlook
being insightful in seeing
a reality most believable

“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped
him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn.”
Luke 2: 7 KJV

He is targeted because he worships God differently,
He calls God by the name Allah, and I call God the Lord,
But he is my friend.

She is tergeted because she loves differently,
She loves another woman, And I love another woman as well,
But she is my sister.

He loves his country much, Much that he would die for it,
Even though his forefathers fought its freedom and to preserve the Union,
But yet, He is treated as a second class citizen,
Because of the color of his skin.

He is targeted because he speaks another language,
Yet, his persecutors don't understand that their forefathers were in the same situation.
Why are they blind to this?

My friends are Arabs, Jews, gays and Gypsies, the list goes on,
Though they see the world differently,
I love them so because of the content of their character.
Why are they punished for the sins of the minority?

They tell me if someone loves differently, I should shun them,
Disown them at all costs, But how can I disdown my best friend?
How can I disown my own family member?
The Lord is about loving everyone, is that not right?
Why do they wish me not to love my own?

They tell me if someone worships God by another name,
I should not associate with them because they are going to Hell,
He is not worthy of God's unconditional love,
But how can I shun even my best friend? The journey we have taken,
No one can replace the friendship we have, He is like my brother!
He worships the Lord differently, Why should I hate him?

Today, someone decided to hate,
From that hate, They chose a lesser form to show the world their views,
They chose to kill, hurt and maim innocent people,
Now because of their actions, My friends, my brothers and sisters,
They are shunned because the act of a coward.

Today, I had to defend my friend because he worships the Lord differently,
They told him he was not worthy of this lands offerings,
Little does he know, I will defend my friend, my brother to the end.
He struck my friend in the face, My friend did nothing,
I intervened, Sadly, now I must make war upon a stranger
Because he wants to hurt my friend,
I must make war now to find out why he hates him so.

Today, I had to defend my sister because she loves differently,
They called her foul names and that she is not worthy of Gods love,
Little do they know, I will make war with them to defend her honor to the end.
I intervened, Sadly, now I must make war upon a stranger,
Because they want to force their opinion upon my beloved sister,
I must make war now to find out why they hate people who love differently.

Because the misunderstanding of a few,
I must make war to defend my loved ones,
The ones whom I care deeply for.
I love them not because they worship God differntly,
I love them not because they love differently,
I love them not becaues they have a different skin color,
I love them because they make me whole,
I love them because to me, They are all a blessing.

You are different and so am I,
Place your head upon my chest and you will hear we both breath the same air,
Let us cut our hands, And you will see, we bleed the same color,
Look into my heart and you will, To make war upon or hate my own my country man,
My heart is filled with sadness,
My mind is filled with remorse and grief,
Truly, You must see my hurt,
Grasp my hand and you will see that we are both human.

Can You Hear Me, God??

Sometimes I am truely alone,
Wondering if anyone cares,
Can anyone hear me?

While my heart tears apart,
From feeling empty inside,
Can anyone hear me?

I cannot fight the tears anymore,
So I get on my knees,
Can anyone hear me?

I look up with a tear stained face,
But I shall never give up hope,
Can you hear me, God??

I often wonder sometimes,
Does God hear my concerns?
Does the Lord know, why is it that babies die of hunger?
Where two countries away, there is food of abundance!

Does the Lord know when a child cries because it weeps for its mother?
Does the Lord hear it's tear?
My faith has grown dry, I do not know why?
Is it because of this miserable life I see before me?
Is it because of the suffering I see others endure?

There are those who have so little,
But yet they still praise God,
Why?
Don't they see their condition?
Am I not blind to their suffering?
Yet, They cling to hope,
Hope is all they have.

I see it now,
For truly, I am blind.
Truly, I am blind because these suffering people,
Whose hopes lie with God for a better place,
They have something truly strong and unshakeable,
Their faith in the Lord.

Truly, their sight is better than mine,
For even in their war torn homes,
They cling to something I have not held dear,
Faith.

They are truly gifted far beyond any riches I have,
Through the years I have lost my sight of faith,
Where it has gone, I do not know.

As today ends,
I look into the sun set,
I seek answers to my questions,
I wonder curiously, Where has my faith gone?
Where has that gift from God gone?

Tears begin to flood my cheek,
Tears of sadness,
I have lost sight of the bigger picture in life,
I seek to regain that sight,
Alone I feel!

To my mother's grave I go,
To seek answers,
A wise person she was,
Simple her wisdom was, But powerful,
Besides being my mother, A guide in life she was,
I miss her so, But today I seek her wisdom.

At her grave stone, the sun shines majestically,
The summer breeze comforts me as I kneel before her grave,
Placing my hands on grave, I begin to weep,
Foremost, I miss her so, So many words left unsaid,
So many deeds undone, What has happened to me?
I question my purpose on the Earth.

Radiantly, the sun shines ever so bright,
I begin to think of the life burrowing questions,
Where have I gone wrong? Is this how it is supposed to be?
Have I made a difference in anyone's life?
Is my faith truly worn out?
Am I worthy of anyone's love?
So many questions. . . .but no answers. . . .

. . . .Disheartened I am. . .

I am longing for the sooth and calming words of my mother,
Searching for the calming words a mother would tell their children when there is despair,
In a single breath, I utter the solace words . . .

Mom, I miss you so, please God help me,
Where have I gone wrong? Please help me God, help me.

The wind begins to cover blow smoothly across my face,
Gently touching my face and the sun warmly dries my tears,
Why is it I feel not alone? I turn my head and there she is,
Smiling, dressed in the most snow white gown,
Her hair loosened to her shoulders,
Angelically she appears,
Mom. . .

Emotions fill my heart,
Gently I close my eyes and as I open them anew,
She is gone. . . .
But the smile she showed me, I shall not forget.
The harmony of her smile, A gift from God.
In that moment nothing mattered to me,
Simply the sight to her once again, A blessing.

The Lord allowed me to see her once again,
Slowly, the sun sets, it gently lightly gaze upon my face goes,
I feel as if my faith has come back to me,
The hope in God that poor have, I know why they are strong in it,
What awaits them afterwords is far more beautiful than this world can imagine,
The sick and the hungry, They have nothing but their faith,
They know something I have been seeking to know for the longest,
Even in the midst of tragedy, They cling to this thing called Faith,
I see clearly now, Their faith keeps them going until it is time.

Clearly, all these years I have been blind,
Too preoccuppied with today's sorrow's,
My humanity I have forgotten, I must rekindle my human spirit,
My path is clear now, To spread the human spirit,
To spread it like a disease because in the end. . . .
. . . Heaven and those who gone before us awaits. . . .

Home Alone

Here I am home alone,
Enjoying the silence,
Nothing bothers me at all,
I have my own schedule,
No one can tell me what to do,
Or when to go to bed,
I enjoy what I'm doing,
Listening to music,
Chillaxin around here,
I am loving it.

I feel the peacefullness of it,
It is very relaxing,
Nothing stops me,
From watching any movie I please,
I can play it loud or soft,
No one gives a care at all,
But all this does get boring,
Since there is no one here,
So I drown some sorrows with beer,
Because I know that they will be home again.

Racing

Engines roaring as they fire with life,
To begin racing out on the track,
They follow one another while the pace car leads,
All to gether in just one big pack,
When the green flag waves the race in on,
As the cars come to full speed,
The leaders pull ahead of the rest,
Just to show everyone,
That they are truely the best,
As the laps count down, there happens to be a wreck,
Causing the yellow flag to wave,
Making the cars on the track to slow,
So there isn't another close shave,
The wrecked cars are removed from the track,
And the green flag waves once again,
Some cars exchange places while they race,
But the leaders are the ones to remain,
Finally the white flag waves,
Which is a sign of the last lap,
And the leader takes the win,
Allowing the commentators to recap,
What happened during the race.

God Created Ford

15 November 2001

One could wonder
what this is all about
As each line is consumed
in a rhythmic rout

Why do people compose these
things for others to investigate
The desire of expression on
board the entity of pure fate

Since each verse comes with little
planning and the outcome is unknown
All that really is understood is that
fraction by faction this has grown

A message may come forth
at this point to strike a cord
But the reality is it might be
just that God created Ford

"He was in the world, and the world was made by
him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his
own, and his own received him not. But as many as
received him, to them gave he power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believed on his name:"
John 1: 10-12 KJV

Knowing these friends here,
Have brought tears to my eyes,
With the kind words they've said,
I love you all, you guys!,
You find a way to cheer me up,
When ever I feel really blue,
All I can say to my friends,
Is a kind Thank You,
If it wasn't for your kind works,
My heart would still be in pain,
But I took it from a different angle,
And thought of it as a gain,
My friends, I love one and all,
You all have a place in my heart,
Even if we all tend to be,
Several states or countries apart.

To my many special friends here on POF, I love you all.

She is trapped,
They do not allow her to come out,
She tries, But does not succeed,
Each time, She comes closer and closer,
She is trying to be free.

Just below her is Mother Earth,
The clouds are set in their minds,
Today is going to be a cloudy day,
For the sun shall not shine today.

Lo, the sun wishes to come out,
Behind the white and gray clouds,
She does not wish to hide no more,
She makes another push,
But the clouds cleverly cover her once more.

For those on Mother Earth,
They yearn and beg to see the sun,
To be protected warmed by its gleaming rays of light,
Darkness has covered this land for too long,
The sun knows this, She wishes to shine today.

In a final moment, In what seemed an eternity,
The sun in all its majestical strength,
She shines mightily upon the Mother Earth,
The animals, the trees, the even man,
They celebrate the sun's protective sunshine,
Warmth has covered land, there is great joy and celebration.

For the animals it is a blessing,
Now they can go yonder and seek out new places to roam,
For the trees it is a blessing disguise,
Now they can be warmed and grow,
For the time under the shadows has made them cold,
For man, it is a miracle,
For many times, they asked for the sun to shine,
To know whether they are truly alone,
Now they know, For someone special is with them,
For the Lord was graceful and answered man's prayer,
Great celebration has come to Mother Earth.

The sun, the moon and all that dwell on Mother Earth,
Truly a blessing from Heaven, Telling and showing us,
Mother Earth's beauty and we not are far from the Lord.
