Love

Love is the greatest gift of all.
Receiving it is one thing, but having love and respect for your soul is the best of all.
Noone on this earth can ever break that love, altough u can be either ur best friend or worst enemy.
But once you find that love within, you'll find happiness and pride to walk down any street or take a picture knowing you are beautiful inside and out.
Before you can ever love another soul, you gotta find your's first.
If you think someone a partner or child will complete you, well you then learn the hard way that in order to receive love you gotta love the person you are.
When you find yourself, you learn what you need, what and deserve as a independant.
When that finally happens you can conquer the world, cause you have found that special love within yourself to fight all good and bad.
Love is the greatest gift you can ever give YOURSELF.

Help Me

Whats going on?
Somebody tell me where i am?
What's all this noise, why am i crying?
Why is my son alone again?
These noises of children's laughter is killing me.
I just wanna kill the parent's in envy, why do they have kid's that are accepted when they laugh at mine?
I look up at the sky and talk to God and sometimes ask,
Is this it? is this my punishment for having sex before marriage and a child outta wed lock?
The tears still running down my face, i can feel an ocean flowing.
Someone help me i wanna go home.
Well i guess now they can laugh but i'll be on my feet again.
Then my son and i will walk down the street's again, and they'll see that we're strong again.
People tell me i'm strong, but why do i feel like i'm dieing?
But i don't wanna fall again, cause i'm learning how to be strong.
One day these tears will dry, and everyone will see that this is the woman in me.
Till then i'm still in search for someone or something to

Help Me

I wish I could take credit for these next 5 poems. But I cannot. I found them online, and I thought that they would fit so nicely here.

Why God Gave Us Friends

God knew that everyone needs companionship and cheer,
He knew that people need someone whose thoughts are always near,
He knew they need someone kind to lend a helping hand,
Someone to gladly take the time to care and understand,
God knew that we all need someone to share each happy day,
To be a source of courage when troubles come our way,
Someone to be true to us whether near or far apart,
Someone whose love we'll always hold and treasure in our hearts.

Dear God

Why has my life been nothing but pain?
You've blessed me with an angel, but why is my angel going to see evil.
I feel like you have neglected me, why?
All i have done is give my love to you.
Will this life get any better.
There are times when i swear i know your here, when i forget my fears.
My hope seeks what my furture will brings, when u wrap me in your arm's and take me where you are.
Where are you now? now that i need you.
These are the word's from a broken heart.
I wonder have you ever been inlove so bad?
Have you ever had someone steal your heart away, but you could never have them?
All i wanted was my true love that i can't have why?
Is my love not worthy of him?
Why would let me meet someone i gave my heart to, but only to find that he won't give his heart to me?
I guess these question's won't be answered as i sit here in the dead of the night.
Even tough i hold it in i never thought i'd have so much pain
Just like a knife that cut's you the wound heals but the scars always remain.
Well God i pray soon time will heal all and you will walk me threw the rest of the way until it leads me back home to you.

If One Day

If one day you feel like crying,
Call me,
I don't promise that I will make you laugh,
But I can cry with you.

If one day you want to run away,
Don't be afraid to call me,
I don't promise to ask you to stop,
But I can run with you.

If one day you don't want to listen to anyone,
Call me,
I promise to be there for you,
And I promise to be very quiet.

But if one day you call,
And there is no answer,
Come fast to see me,
Perhaps I need you.

Angel's Everywhere

An angel here, an angel there,
I'm surrounded by angels everywhere.
When I'm in the middle of a terrible storm,
They come with their candles to keep me warm.

An angel to comfort, an angel to guide,
An angel to fill that dark hole inside.
An angel to cry on, an angel who cares,
I'm surrounded by angels, everywhere.

The angels who reach out when times are rough,
Who'll listen to my heartache and all kinds of stuff.
Bright in the sunshine and in the dark of night,
The angels surround me with comforting light.

I guess God is busy and can't come down,
To give me a smile and take care of my frown.
So he sent a few angels to brighten my day,
And help to carry my burdens away.

So thank you, dear angels, more then you'll know,
For watering the happiness and making it grow!

An Angel's Kiss

We go through life so often,
Not stopping to enjoy the day,
And we take each one for granted,
As we travel on our way.

For in your pain and sorrow,
An Angel's Kiss will help you through,
This kiss is very private,
For it is ment for only you.

We never stop to measure,
Anything we just might miss,
But if the wind should blow by softly,
You'll feel an Angel's Kiss.

A kiss that is sent from heaven,
A kiss from up above,
A kiss that is very special,
From someone that you love.

So when, your hearts are heavy,
And filled with tears and pain,
And no one can console you,
Remember once again...

About the ones you grieve for,
Because you sadly miss,
And the gentle breeze you took for granted,
Was just an angel's kiss.

Roses For Rose

Red roses were her favorites, her name was also Rose,
And every year her husband had sent them, tied with pretty bows,
The year he died, the roses were delivered to her door,
The card said, "Be my Valentine," like all the years before.

Each year he'd sent her roses, and the note would always say,
"I love you even more this year, then last year on this day,"
"My love for you will always grow, with every passing year,"
She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.

She thought, "He'd ordered roses in advance before this day,"
Her husband could not have known, that he would pass away,
He always liked to do things early, way before the time,
Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine.

She trimmed the stems, and placed them in a very special vase,
Then, sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face,
And then she sat for hours, in her husband's favorite chair,
While staring at his picture, and the roses sitting there.

A year went by, and it was hard to live without her mate,
With loneliness and solitude, that had become her fate,
Then, the very hour, as on Valentines before,
The doorbell rang, and there were roses, sitting by her door.

She brought the roses in, and then just looked at them in shock,
Then, went to get the telephone, to call the florist shop,
The owner answered, and she asked him, if he would explain,
Why would someone do this to her, causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away, more then a year ago,"
The owner said, "I knew you'd call, and you would want to know,"
"The flowers you received today, were paid for in advance,"
"your husband always planned ahead, he left nothing to chance."

"There is a standing order, that I have on file down here,"
And he has paid, well in advance, you'll get them every year.
There also is another thing, that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card... he did this years ago."

"Then, should ever, I find out that he's no longer here,
That's the card... that should be sent, to you the following year,"
She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard,
Her fingers shaking, as she slowly reached to get the card.

Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note,
Then, as she stared in total silence, this is what he wrote...
"Hello my love, I know it's been a year since I've been gone,
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome."

"I know it must be lonely, and the pain is very real,
For if it was the other way, I know how I would feel,
The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life,
I loved you more then words can say, you were the perfect wife."

"You were my friend and lover, you fulfilled my every need,
I know it's only been a year, but please try not to grieve,
I want you to be happy, even when you shed your tears,
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years."

"When you get these roses, think of all the happiness,
That we had together, and how both of us were blessed,
I have always loved you and I know I always will,
But, my love, you must go on, you have some living still."

"Please.. try to find happiness, while living out your days,
I know it is not easy, but I hope you find some ways,
The roses will come every year, and they will only stop,
When your door's not answered, when the florist stops to knock,"

"He will come five times that day, in case you have gone out,
But after his last visit, he will know without a doubt,
To take the roses to the place, where I've instructed him,
And place the roses where we are, together once again."

this last one always gets me misty eyed. hope you love them.

A son with his mother,
Together walking in the park,
She does not know who he is,
Time, age and disease has come to her,
All she knows is that she is safe with him.

He utters memories to her,
But to her it is story he is telling,
Deep inside he hurts,
He longs for her to remember his name,
But he knows the inevitable.

The memory of the good times,
The memory of the bad times,
This is her gift to him,
The stories she has shared with him,
Now it belongs to him.

A tear slowly descends his cheek,
Longing for her to remember,
In his mind,
There are many words he has left unspoken,
All he can do ask is why?!

He holds her hand gently,
She smiles, And slowly she sees his face,
She pauses, She thinks slowly,
She remembers, She cries. . . .
Her hand goes upon his shoulder,
To comfort him, She sings an old lullabye. . .

. . . .This is his mothers curse. . .
. . . .This is his tragedy. . . .

If I Only Had

If I only had arms,
I would wrap them tightly around you,
And never let you go.
If I only had wings,
I would fly over to you,
To be by your side,
If I only had my heart,
I would give it to you,
As long as you don't break it,
If I only had you,
I would love you forever.

This is one on how I feel, when no one notices that I truely am around.

Invisible

Hello, can anyone see me standing there,
I know I am alive but can you not see me?
How can I make myself visible to you?
Am I just a big piece of debris?

Hello, can you see me standing right next to you?
Or even feel me breathe on your skin?
Am I truely just a waste of oxygen?
My patience is beginning to wear thin.

Can you see me standing in front of you?
I guess I'm just invisible to everyone,
You are probably just staring through me,
And nothing will ever be come undone.

He sees her each day,
He notices that no one says hello to her,
Why? This is all he can ask, but he gets no answers,
No real answers are given, only that she is different.

He does not understand this answer,
He does not understand how people can be cruel,
To completely ignore another's presence because they are different.

She walks alone,
She walks the halls, No one sees her,
They only see someone different,
Inside she longs for belonging,
She knows that can not happen,
Because everyone sees her different.

Today, she walks the halls,
Someone bumps into her,
All her belongings fall to the floor,
And so did her sense of pride,
She is sad, No one bothers to see her.

But today will be different,
Today he will see her,
From afar he walk towards her,
He helps her pick up her belongings,
She is amazed, Someone has seen her,
Her heart races, She does not know what to do,
A smile begins to be formed upon her face,
A smile begins on his face.

He utters words of welcome and peace to her,
She utters the words of appreciation and her name,
And he does the same.

Friends they become,
Now, evereyone sees her,
But truly, the one she sees is him,
Best friends they are.

Two strangers. . . friends who have not met yet. . .
Two strangers. . . friends who have not said hello to one another yet. . .

Today Janie has decided today is her last day,
Nothing can turn her back now,
She is determined.

Each day Janie questions God in anger,
Why?!?!
Why do you make me suffer like this?!?!
What did I do to you?!
I asked for something simple,
But I do not understand why you do not give it to me!
And each day, she receives no answer.
Only silence.

Today Janie has had enough,
She longs for someone to simply love her,
She longs for someone to simply hold her hand,
To caress her soft gentle hair,
She longs for someone to be at home,
To have someone to look forward to,
But the world is too cruel to her.
Janie is average looking,
She wears glasses that over 5 years old,
She is a chubby person with brown eyes,
Her hair is hi-lighted blond with brown hair.

Janie cleans out her desk at work,
No one knows her inner demons that plague her so much,
Longing for simple love,
In the midst of leaving her job,
She walks to her car, she trips and falls,
All her belongings are now on the floor,
She begins to cry,
All she can think is:

"Is this how it is going to end?
Is it really going to end on a sour note?
The irony."

From afar, an average man comes,
He sees she has fallen, He comes to help her,
He notices this time it is different,
But it does not matter, He does the gentleman thing to do,
To help a lady in distress,
He helps Janie pick up her belongings,
He notices a tear upon her cheek,
Sharply she says thank you and is amazed about his eyes,
She does not know why, But his eyes captivate her.

He is tall, his small hazel eyes and brown hair are neatly placed,
It is obvious that he works in her building because of his badge,
He is a medium build man, with glasses and cleanly shaven.
He notices that the young lady, Janie is troubled,
As any gentleman would do, He asks her if she is okay,
She looks at him with glariing stare as if to say yes, but she says no.

He tells Janie he must wait for a friend to drive him home,
He asks her if she wishes to go to the resturant and wait with him,
She ponders, in what becomes the longest 5 seconds of her life,
She says yes, She figures that she will leave this world on a full stomach.

In what will become 30 minute wait becomes two hours,
Little does Janie know, she is having the time of her life,
She laughs, she smiles and jokes,
At this point she is not thinking about leaving this world,
She concentrates on the gentleman's words and he concentrates on hers.

It is now four hours since they met,
The gentleman nervously asks her if she much obliged to go to dinner with him,
With a humble smile, she accepts, she is going on a date.
Before she leaves, embarrassingly she asks his name,
His name is Robert, Death will have to wait now.

It is now 2 years since they met,
Janie is in love with him and Robert is in love with her,
A full moon night, they are walking in the park,
The moon is shining brightly, They reminisce about that day when they met,
He holds her hand tightly but gently, he reaches into his pocket,
He gets on one knee, She knows what he is about to ask. . . .
But she can not bear him asking but she surrenders to his gallantry,
He asks her the words she prayed for her so many years before,
"Janie, with this ring, I ask you, will you be my wife."
Tears go down her face like a fountain, she holds him tightly,
She releases the pain, the agony the trials and tribulations,
He holds Janie tightly, He gently lifts her happy but weak chin,
They are eye to eye, In a gentle voice, she utters the words, "Yes, I will."

He his kisses her gently upon her soft lips,
He caresses the back of her head gently,
He pulls her closely and rests her head to his shoulder,
A gentle silence comes about,
From afar, She can see a white bird, Heavenly looking,
She notices it, and into the darkness it flies,
As if the Lord was watching this moment,
Two souls, one wounded and the other a nurturing her.

Truly now their great celebration in Heaven and among the Angels,
. . .Love has conquered Death. . .

Thx AG, as I have always mentioned, I love seeing your work here in my thread. I know some of my poems are short, but they are also powerful. I hope they fill you with inspiration.

The job I have right now,
Treats me extremely bad,
I have been there for almost three years,
And I am getting quite mad,
I dont know if I have gotten a raise,
Or what I make per hour there,
I am looking for a new job now,
Because I really don't care,
I need to be treated as an individual,
And the person that I can be,
Frankly I don't think they really care,
If I leave, because they just cannot see,
That I am someone special,
Someone that has great skills in what I do.
