just remember if you post someone else's works, please give them credit. I might post my poetry freely to these forums and am aware of the copyright laws - even in the USA - where there is a clause called "fair use" - the point is to be fair - but at the same time be aware - copyright is a strong subject - when I realize in sharing my own intellectual property I am running a risk and am willing to take it, by my own free will - I could not say this might be the same for every published author - while adding the reference to whom the poem is derived from - this gives the rightful author credit where it is due - and in that term is a quote of a what that writer said - but needs to have the true reference of origin included with the works as well.

poetwhocares- chill out, I NEVER took credit for the poem. I just wanted to share it with others. I don't just see original work on this site. I did go back and post the author before your lame comment. I'm going to take a wild guess and I bet you don't get alone well with others. I'll make sure and avoid forums where you post.

Hey Kat

I wanted to bump my chat buddies thread that time - then I was away composing another of my original works as a belated birthday gift for the daughter of a special kin of mine - so here is an extra bump from me anyway Cat's. Which kinda reminds me of bumper cars and Cat's since you're a Formula One and NASCAR fan, so maybe that was a great thought.

On Angel’s Wings

01 September 2005

Emily Lynne
with the grace of smile
To dance in heart
all in style

Your eyes the soul
being footsteps in sand
To be all you can
and then say “I am”

Your mother’s child
a brother’s sister
Someone there to help
when those soles blister

Through a mother’s eyes
the most beautiful girl in the world
From your first moment of step
to in each pirouette twirled

"Hold up my goings in thy paths,
that my footsteps slip not."
Psalms 17: 5 KJV

Power of(Repost from The forest and the wind)

When tragedy is anow,
The power of hope dims,
Faith is drained, and all is lost.

In the wake of losing a home,
What remains are memories,
All that was said, has been told,
Sadness is in abundance,
Despair is overflowing,
Madness and chaos rein supreme.

A mother and her child,
The child cries, it has nothing to eat,
The mother's milk is all but dry,
A father and his family,
He has no way of getting them food,
Grieved and demoralized, what is he to do?
A husbands love and devotion,
He will do what he must,
He will steal, he will not let his family go hungry.

A nation watches its own people suffer,
In the midst of all this tragedy,
Those who have little,
They give all they have,
Those who have plenty
They give all they plentiful things they own,

In seeing a mother and her babe cry,
One can not hold the emtion if that was them with their child,
One can not sit idly by and do nothing.

In times such as these,
It is the moment when strangers become a family,
As anyone would do for their kin,
When their kin is hungry, they will feed them,
When their kin is cold, they will give them a warm blanket,
When their kin has no more hope, they will give them that comforting hug,
They will tell them that they are not alone.

It times such as these,
A country's people unites to help their kin,
To restore their faith,
To give hope when hope is gone,
To make sense out of the chaos,
To honor those who made the supreme sacrifice to help others in midst of danger.

In times such as these,
The true power of humanity,
And the power of the human spirit becomes anew,
The times test us, but our faith and spirit,
They gives renewed conviction of the task remaining before us,
. . .That we all rise to the occasion and how the world who we really are. . .

Beautiful Pictures

02 September 2005

To you I could
make beautiful pictures
Only I cannot show you
the beauty in spirit around

For no image
will surpass
This vision
held to faith

God gave and
God did give
To you Jesus Christ
does live

He stands tall
and hold you
in His arms light

From that whisper
in your ear
To the comforter
of wiping away
each tear

Thus in Awe

02 September 2005

If you could see
what my eyes do see
To look upon vista
and absorb thus in awe

Such grandeur
this beauty around
to seek and live
All of this to you
I would in openness give

If you could see
the glorious peak
Your voice would be
struck down in void to speak

High upon a mountain top
this heart views for you
To look to the
height of the sky

I have a head cold myself, *sniffle* lol.. it's not fun. It must have been the sudden weather change that did it for me. It always hits me like that.

The weather is changing,
Fall is just about here,
The colors of leaves are changing,
Winter now seems so near,
But it won't knock upon autumn's door,
Until the days get bitter cold,
Seeing the colors of fall,
Is part of the glory nature can behold,
These brilliant colors are a wonderous sight,
Making people travel so far to see,
The reds, browns, yellows and oranges,
Of the colors of leaves on the tree,
Once they fall upon the ground,
The trees all stand so bare,
Just a sign that winter is very near,
And a chill is in the air.

and when u come crawling back to me with ur hands and knees on glass i am going to spit in ur face and laugh at ur ass.

I had to work today,
Originally scheduled a 4-9,
But once I got there to start work,
I saw a very different sign,
The sign said "labor day hours 10-6"
I had to work at four,
I thought it was foolish to go in,
Because I only would be there for two,
As soon as I started I would leave again.

Racing Mine

06 September 2005

Her mind races like a NASCAR
winds up and burns rubber to the page
This wonderful friend to have and know
putting that mind up in lights on a stage

Her heart was
in a good place
And it was wonderful
to see her race

A cat or a chick
cool to understand and see
Helmet on and ready to think
of words in verses rolling free

Her mind races like a NASCAR
in all her beauty to right down
To look into her eyes
and seek happenings found

When I feel like crying,
Will you be there,
To dry my tears and hold me tight,
And give me some tender loving care,
Without you I would continue to cry,
because I am alone and sad,
When ever you are with me,
I am always glad.

Baby I love you,
And I never want to let you go,
You mean so much to me,
And I thought you should know,
How I truely feel,
From deep within my heart.

^^ wrote that one last night, I couldn't sleep, and I was feeling a bit down.

Friends cheer you up
When ever you are down
They are always great to have
To get rid of that frown
They put a smile
Upon your sad face
Even when things get you down
They show up without a trace
Friends care that is true
You don't know what you would do
If it wasn't for them
You would always be sad and blue
Tears would stream down your face
And no one would be there
To make them go away
Or to comfort your fear
So be blessed to have the friends you do

Hey Angelpurrs, great poem, Im thinking maybe the measure of a friend can be seen in the value one puts in their own friends.

The Box

Youve boxed me in
Your four sided words conform
Your one sided actions restrict
Mind thinking in corners
Youve boxed me in
