| Poetry Collection Posted: 9/7/2005 2:55:55 PM | Thx Blitz for stoppin by my thread, please feel at home here.
This little write was started in my own contest thread, but I thought I would share it here.
Knocking At Death's Door
When I was nine I was struck by a car Making my way across the street And flown quite far From the Impact I took I suffered a broken arm And a closed head injury Im still alive saved by His Charm He sent me an angel To watch over me When I was hit So now I believe in Thee Prayers to Him were answered When I was in a hospital bed I could have not survived And just be a memory instead But I pray to Him Each and every day For giving me my life And I wouldn't have it any other way For my life was knocking at Death's Door.

Was our love at death's door When belief was it would never be that way
This love so strong to reach out and hold her hand Of a heart known not to falter A love - not any love but our love
This amour - where feelings were built upon compassion To care - to hold in heart in the knowledge - our love would always be
Not a dieing love - not a new love not an old love and neither a love at death’s door
"And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die." Genesis 27: 4 KJV

Alone again; I help myself She's gone; there's nothing else to do I watched her drift away I couldn't help Close my eyes don't open them Till I'm with you
See, she's gone but not lost I'm old and still not through No mountain climbed nor ocean crossed Could bring me back to you Scared now just me and my thoughts Please, Death, come save me soon

She was all of being Daddy’s Girl His rose - his Clementine this richness of pearl
Such warmth from her birth to first step A life - a love - pure magic with no regret
Olivia in your beauty a voice to surrender sound Happiness always when you were around
For away from you were days yet to come When Olivia and Daddy would be borne as one

We will meet at the lake pavilion there our journey yearns to begin An everlasting desire - a ship upon an ocean of heart to win
The sunset reminding us of each day toward love never-ending Our happiness all surreal and void captured in no passion pretending
As we drift in unity floating in time’s grasp Each moment would be forever for there will not become a last
Across a table - our eyes will link each bite of savoured delights Both flavoursome and enjoyable until separate ways meet new heights

Would it be a lesson from one whom knows less To think of you and kiss in address
To place a postage stamp on my heart - in vision of you Then kiss the back of your neck as if only this was a dream too true
A kiss of happiness my kiss to you in kind Each word and letter to your name - reflected in mind
So ends another day then another will come soon For in my heart - was room to grant many a kiss in you
"What is a kiss? Why this, as some approve: The sure, sweet cement, glue, and lime of love." Robert Herrick (1591 - 1674) English lyric poet

| Poetry Collection Posted: 9/10/2005 3:17:15 AM | The Person
Together as one, they are a team, From the many differences they are a family, Among them stands one man, He is their leader, they look to him.
As a leader, he has seen many come and go, When he leads them, He leads them with courage.
He leads them on a quest, A quest to find a new home, Many suffer, but still they continue their faith, He will lead them to the promise land, Their new home. . .
They adore him, They admire him, They will die for him.
And when they have become weary and are tired, At the table he will sit them, He will eat with them, He will laugh with them, He will comfort them.
Lastly, when they gather at the table. . . He will look slowly glance at each and everyone of them, He smile gently, and he will say aloud, In times of despair, in times when there is no hope, When they only have each other, . . .They are the finest, they are a family. . .

Friendship
Friendship is like a treasure, It has a special value. Friendship is a flower, You can make it grow. Friendship is like a rock, We can make it solid. Friendship is like a secret, It needs alot of trust. Friendship is like a bridge, You can make it stronger. Friendship is like glue, We need it to stick together. Friendship is like a job, You can make it work. Friendship is like a good wish, we can make it very true. Friendship is like a garden, You can make it become beautiful. Friendship is like your favorite pen, Let's make it permenant.

| Poetry Collection Posted: 9/10/2005 7:34:43 PM | Smoking is not good, And it smells quite bad, But what else can you do, When the world drives you mad? Find something to punch, Like a punching bag, Or go find someone, Who wouldn't mind if you nag, When something really gets on your nerves, Just let it go, And find somethin else to do, And just go with the flow, But don't think about smoking, Or lighting one up.
just a little write for those that are trying to quit smoking or who have succeded, like myself, it's been 4 months and 8 days since I last touched a cigarette. wooohoooooo

| Poetry Collection Posted: 9/11/2005 3:47:02 AM | The female athelete
She wakes up each morning, She puts on here sneakers, She prepares herself mentally, Today she is going to run.
This is her time, She will go into a zone, Where it is just her and the wind, They will become one.
Nothing else matters now to her, What matters to her that is she is running, No man can compete with her, She is speed incarnate.
She prepares herself each day, While other women are shopping and taking care of their nails, She sweats, She is in pain, she is sore, But most importantly she is preparing.
Her mind and body are one, They are a machine, She is something racing machine, Others can not define.
The sun is setting, and now she must rest, She must prepare for tomorrow, Tomorrow is another day to train, To run, to race, to become one with the wind.
She is an athelete, No man can take that from her, Her speed will make even the fastest man in the world blink, She takes no prisoners, she shows no remorse, . . .She is the female athelete. . .

| Poetry Collection Posted: 9/11/2005 5:42:19 PM | Looking at you with eyes full of love, Making your heart skip a beat, But part of you feels something missing, Making you feel incomplete, You don't know what that is, Until he kisses your lips, That you realize what that is, As your stomach does flips, For what you are missing, Are the feelings that love brings, Making you feel light as a feather, As if your heart had wings. | |

| Poetry Collection Posted: 9/12/2005 11:22:52 AM | Lying in the grass Tiny insects passing by His arms wraped tight around me I feel such a specialhigh The whole world leaves our senses My heart is full to burts Looking deeply in his blue eyes I feel niether pain nor thirst You have showered me with blessings Lord Please help me to accept Help us all remember Manna And how quickly our hearts lept I can hardly understand it how he's given me reprieve From the solitary life I led I but asked and did recieve He does not shy away from me When I confess my heart He made me laugh and smile I knew him from the start.
Snow
Funny how small moments can inspire such gushing of emotion, and a week later the incompatability becomes clear. But I have no regrets. I asked for a moment of joy, I recieved it. I believe it was mutual.

| Poetry Collection Posted: 9/12/2005 1:10:04 PM | You hold my heart in your hand So hold on if you can But I may run and hide before dawn It's not like me to berate But I really do hate When I feel some one taking my song
I don't want to change To become some form of deranged Figment of your internal fight Can't you give your love free Won't you let me be me I just want to stay here in the light
You won't open your mind to To all the quirks of mankind And you vainly attempt to control But it just makes you look sad And eternally mad And I won't let you corrupt my soul
I want to dance in the sun Shout with joy and have fun And I really don't care what you see You can sit in that chair With your grouchy old glare I'll be out in the yard climbing trees
Unless you want to join in Share some laughter and grin You had better stay out of my way I refuse to sit still And succumb to your will That is no way to get me to stay
But if you put on a smile And be nice for just a little while You might find life is a bit more sweet So hold out your hand And lets make a last stand Let's make every new moment a treat
You hold my heart in your hand So hold on if you can Because the stars are the limit for me
I will fly like a bird Reflect joy with my every word Oh the stars are the limit for me The stars are the limit The stars are the limit The stars are the limit for me.
Snow Song to myself and to people who try to make others unhappy because they are. I choose joy.

| Poetry Collection Posted: 9/12/2005 2:43:43 PM | Great thread. Lots of wonderful writing.
A Mother's Wish
I did not trust, authority. It was like a crust, trying to cover me.
To protect me? To deject me? I didn't care, I didn't know.
Either way, it was the same to me. Every way, it stifled me.
I felt this need, to shape my own life. I felt this need, to face sorrow and strife.
Learn from your mistakes? Follow in your wake? I'm sorry, but that wasn't me.
So what if that avenue, was wrong for you? Or, even wrong for a dozen more?
I felt anything could be true, I didn't know. I felt the wrong way for you, might be the way I should go.
That was my youth, all fire and ice. Great passion, uncouth, desire and vice.
I tried a lot, saw joy, saw pain. It seems I must now live it again. But, once more, I am faced with mystery, For this time I am the authority.
My children trying to figure out the world, look to me, listen to my word. Will they listen, or will I be some thing, instilling a desire, for rebelling.
I wonder if this has been done to me. Did my mother wish? Did it come true? "I wish the torment you caused me, thrice upon you."
So far, so good. No rebellions yet.
Peace | |
