dont really know why i wrote this one, i dont really know if it counts as a poem, but thought i would share it anyways

She looked at him from across the room
Trying to catch his eye
He noticed her glances and came her way
With a smile upon his face
He bought her a few drinks and took her hand while they talked
As they both walked out the door
Laughing and smiling like two kids in love
He looked into her deep blue eyes and gently pulled her close
She smiled and slowly started to blush
As she knew he would lean in for a kiss
The chemistry they share is one of a kind
And that kiss brought passion from deep within her soul
To ignite the fire she do desperately needed
That fire is the one we would all like to have
Constantly burning keeping love alive
But some of those fires have gone out
And that feeling of love is no longer there

I've written a few poems in the past month, but here is one of my favs so far...inspiration came after a long and serious relationship came to a drastic end.

"Life’s Too Short"

Don't get too ahead of yourself;
for this may be your final chance.
Not able to see everything beyond today,
but nothing can be done about that.
Living in this world forever,
won't even give you that kind of sight.

Sit and concentrate on here and now,
and decide between sorrow and fun.
But don’t take long and assume it's still dawn,
Look behind you, falling is the setting sun.
Lie down and close your eyes now,
before long you'll realize that a new day has begun.
Knowing you next breath will be in the future,
is there really such a need to rush and run?

Mistakes are just a part of life
and there will be many more to come.
Stand up and wipe those tears away,
at least while the day is still young.
If better you wish for things to become,
brush it off and get on your feet again.

It's certainly not a crime to express emotion,
but just stop and briefly consider this:
For every minute that you spend upset,
another minute of happiness, you will miss.
Everyone has control over their own lives,
will you accept pain or move on to find bliss?
Go ahead and run through the fields,
you never know which will be your very last kiss.

Please don't just settle for anything,
we both know that you deserve better.
Go out and take some chances in life,
and you may find something amazing.
And when you hit those bumps in the road,
Simply take them as a chance to learn.

Don't ever tell yourself you've lost it all,
because in this world, there is so much more!
As just one person on the face of this earth,
we are like a small crumb lying on the floor.
If you stay where you are, so much you will miss,
fly through this empty space and throw open the door.
Push aside all the troubles that consume your life,
I know that you will succeed, go ahead and soar.

Written for me :

I was lost in a past and couldn't see
No matter how hard i looked for me
Round and round and back again
When would the cycle of lonliness end?

From out of the blue, you entered my life
You reached out to me, you didn't think twice
Like a gentle whisper from deep within your soul
You took a chance, you let your heart show.

A kind heart filled with joy
You share your love with this lonley boy
A warm smile, the sparkle in your eye
These are but a few of the reasons why.

An angel in spirit, from heaven you came
You've changed my life, its not the same
Gold, diamonds and silver do many treasure
But its your loving heart that brings me pleasure.

You're my man, my mighty king,
And I'm the jewel in your crown,
You're the sun so hot and bright,
I'm your light-rays shining down,

You're the sky so vast and blue,
And I'm the white clouds in your chest,
I'm a river clean and pure,
Who in your ocean finds her rest,

You're the mountain huge and high,
I'm the valley green and wide,
You're the body firm and strong,
And I'm a rib bone on your side,

You're an eagle flying high,
I'm your feathers light and brown,
You're my man, my king of kings,
And I'm the jewel in your crown

I don't want to upset anyone, That really ain't my style
But I've been readin' all the poems, I've seen here, for a while
Is it me, or is it you, or a sign of modern times?
It seems to me, that poetry, consists of words that rhyme...

Love is eternal,
Never to be blind,
When two hearts are one,
Their worlds combine,
Leaving nothing in their wake,
And no stone unturned,
Living each and everyday,
Feeling so unconcerned,
What the future brings,
Could be laughter or tears,
But they don't worry,
Their love has no fears,
It constantly grows stronger,
Nothing could ever break it apart,
Even in death they will remain,
Together forever in each other's heart.

Hi Angel,

Thanks for stopping by my thread and posting that last write! I really felt it's presence.

---Robert

Where are all the lovers that put love first and formost before riches and fame?
My next post is wondering where society is headed? I added a second write, inspired by the movie "Elizabethtown". Stand tall no matter how hard you fall! What if the next one is the "one"?

---Robert

Blank Screen.

Day after day, I seek the love of another.
Is there really any truth between each other?
Are we living anywhere on the same plane?
Do we desire only things that appeal to the vane?

Whatever happened to love conquers all?
Is it replaced by what we buy at a mall?
Should we give up on things that are real?
Is love replaced by whatever we can steal?

Take a free ride, if we marry for the riches.
have sex on the side with all the horny bjtches.
Marry a husband that can provide you with cash.
Then on the side have some men you can bash.

What has happened to love in true fashion?
Will it ever find a reality that isn't so rationed?
Computers are giving way to a new kind of team.
Are we counting down until we see a blank screen?

Take a Chance With Me!

I walk through fires of pestilence roaring.
Searching for the cool "breath of life".
Temptations leach onto all life's glory.
Trying to bring darkness to bliss's light.

Angels guard the gates of listening souls.
Those too busy get taken for their gold.
The love of humanity has no equal roles.
The riches of life requires "one" more bold.

Do what you can to find time for the "one".
They will only remain while truth be present.
If you should fail stand tall for you have won.
No one knows success with only the pleasant.

Suffer you might, but wisdom you'll gain.
The trials of life will come again like a wave.
No pleasure is known without brother pain.
Success is sweetest after completing the maze.

Too much too soon brings "Taken For granted".
Appreciation gains ground on evils mistakes.
Victory is love's conquering of the slanted.
Identifying ways to overcome and remake.

Love is winning after having failed miserably.
For to take this chance one could have failed.
Knowing there is risks are facts of our history.
Succeeding are those that stand and don't bail.

The world is ever changing in a state of flux, going back and forth with good and evil giving out trials. In the end, love wins in my world...

---Robert

Once Fallen into the Depths Below.

Angels fly finding receptive listeners.
Whispering words bringing love’s token.
Sadly admonishing two-faced bliss-seekers.
Heartbreak takes away memories broken.

Pain dissolves the hurt of our losing.
Joy returns when pain has subsided.
Ready to start another day choosing.
Happiness sought, not too one-sided.

Pictures capture moments locked in time.
Real world knows time is not still there.
Looking to reach a forever that’s sublime.
Not a world that is stuck frozen in air.

Truth be told in warranted fashions.
Lies given out in ridiculous daring.
Signals reveal the truth of lies rations.
Those that listen will know the “caring”.

Rising above the depths of life’s trials.
Finding special friends in limited measure.
Giving away everything that signifies style.
Keeping only love’s ultimate pleasure.

Once again truth has exceeded evil’s haste.
Fooled by smooth talking popular trickery.
Taking chances that proved to be a waste.
Opening minds to avoid future misery.

Learning to love again is the ultimate grace.
Finding trust in those that are more private.
The public spectacles are full of distaste.
Nice people don’t act like history’s primates.

Hey Angel,

This is one I like that I just wrote from first line Last line that is more optimistic. Sometimes I need a push in the right direction to stop me from observing all the nastiness in the world and think about the nicer part of life.

---Robert

You will be always wanting more.
The love that makes you adore.
They will make this world a treat.
Someday when you both do meet.

Life will change all for the better.
Maybe it will be the next email letter.
Anticipation will bring forth desire.
Next you will find your heart's inspired.

The final day when two hearts unite.
A day that will bring much to excite.
The love of a lifetime now to treasure.
Bringing forth a unity of endless pleasure.

The rest of life is up to you to explore.
Find love each day to cherish it more.
Nothing needs to be done to reinvent her.
The world is an endless place of adventure.

Carol for a King

26 June 2006

Was it time
for that one love
This woman for
a man to behold
For her to him
and him to her

A time, as to never know
this heart broken before being born
Could it ever be this morrow
when she and he do grace

Was it time, or would there be a time
could she love him, he love her to amour
This woman for a man to behold
for here to him, and him to her

Where credibility and credible meet
would reality ever answer those alone
A carol for the King, holy to name
would it be, could truth at last reign

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall
rest in hope. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is
fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalms 16: 9, 11 KJV
