He couldn't be caught and that was the only way they could win.

Some of the finest men I know are hunters - men with character, strong faith, family values, good jobs, etc., etc. I think if they want to rule out an entire group of men just because they like Nascar, or hunt, or fish, or whatever - too bad for them!

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/30/2007 6:28:47 AM | The only problem I find is that the majority of women NASCAR fans are just Dale Jr. fans. All I ask for is a bit more imagination. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/30/2007 6:34:41 AM | Like anything ~ it's the obsession! ~ beyond all reason ~ a "fan"!!!!!
Void of balance ~ Zoom , Zoom ! Round and Round we go.
Could be football ~ soccer ~ the obsession ~ is unappealing to many of us that have our priorities elsewhere. Total waste of life! Around and around we go!
Oh! ~ a deep threat coming ~ On the 35 ~ 5 yards, 2nd down to the 1st ~
If you are not a fan ~ all the excitment is lost ~ we don't really care ~
Could be Tittie Bars ~ bingo ~ dog fights ~ chess ~
our obsessions make each one of us different ~ if you hitch your waggon to someone that obssessed ~ you need to share their joy or it can be hell.
My bother married a parttime clown ~ her love and passion ~ he is supportive of her interest. ~ Ever wonder where clowns come from? ~ dar
There is only some many hours in a day ~ and so many days in a life

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/30/2007 6:43:43 AM | Is there something shameful with nascar that no one ever told me about? Why would someone refuse to date another person because of a sport they enjoy ? So long as they are not obsessed with it and don't watch it and talk about it all the times who cares.
You are not always going to have likes and hobbies in common ,and i would say it's probably better to have some things that you don't have in common .So long as your differences are nothing major then don't sweat the small stuff. This would be a really stupid reason to reject someone.

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/30/2007 7:58:13 AM | Well here is my view on it....but of course..I'm a football fan.....but dont take it over board...I still know where my man belongs....dating a nascar fan is like dating a golfer....you will never come before them...so don't even try...doesn't have anything to do with how much you can satisfy your man away from the one eyed demon (TV) or out of the golf cart..(If your lucky to get him out)....and always know that his racing buds or golfing buds is hard to compete with.....no matter how hot you are lol.....Hey it is ok to have your hobbies.....but I would like to be one of those hobbies.....any fishermen out there?????...lets go fishing...ladybug | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 11/30/2007 10:44:40 PM | Whether I date one or not, I'm now surrounded. My sister made the choice for me by marrying a NASCAR fanatic. Whatever he and his family has is contagious; my parents now spend their weekends watching cars turn left for hours on end. I think we have some kind of NASCAR family plan, which I didn't sign up for, and from which I see no benefit. As long as my family or a potential boyfriend/date doesn't expect me to pay attention to the race or to learn the stats, and as long as the races are limited to a few days a week, then not a problem. He can spend $150 to go to a race with his buddies and I'll take my $150 to go to a concert or spend the afternoon at a spa. We'll both come home happy and rev'd up for a little private time. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/1/2007 7:48:36 AM | Sunshine: What I said about Kenseth earlier was said in jest. True NASCAR fans banter back and forth about other drivers but we keep it friendly.
Cash............if you are a major fan as you say, you would have noticed that in at least 4 races Matt was leading, and he was knocked off the track, by either Gordon or Johnson, deliberately. He couldn't be caught and that was the only way they could win. If they couldn't catch him...how did they get close enough to knock him out of the way? Slower cars usually know they should move over when they see either of those two in their rear view mirror, saves their car that way.

My favorites are the engineer and the schoolteacher.
Though my heart breaks for Jr having lost his daddy that way, I don't GET the big attraction he has. But you are right, all the girls go for him, except the baby girls go for Kasey Kahne. Cindy O

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/1/2007 11:01:33 AM | It wouldn't keep me from dating someone but it's about as exciting as watching paint dry. He can watch it, I'll go out. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/1/2007 11:32:17 AM | | Being a Nascar fan is not an issue in itself. Its how you conduct yourself about it. And many are so into it they throw all their (higher) priorities out the window especially on race day. As long as supporting the sport doesnt mean turning your back on respect for others (and their time, etc) or sensibility, it should be OK. | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/1/2007 10:00:35 PM | I haven't had any problem finding women to date. As I am a rather big fan. I attend at least 2 races a year! Watch about half of whats on the tube!
Given the time and a little effort, just about any woman would find it just as enjoyable as I do!
Take one to a race, get her a tank top and a cap. Let her see the crowds and how respectful the people are. Let her feel the grandstands rumble as the cars fly by..
If that doesn't work, take her to nascar.com and show her what kind of money those ignorant rednecks make doing left hand turns all afternoon..
Worst comes to worst she will end up being a Gordon fan. Girls always hang out with the gay guys!!!

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/1/2007 10:46:05 PM | op-----""I have seen, in many profiles (men and women), where people say if you are a NASCAR fan then "move on", "next", "pass me by".......that sort of thing.""
There are soooo many more important things in life, I find it hard to understand why that silly sport gets listed in the "about me" section. I think car racing is great, and I have always been a fan of "motorsports" since 1976.....however, back then NASCAR used REAL CARS, with real marquees, and real branded engines, you put in some high performance engine parts, dual carburator, stiffer springs, wide slicks, a roll cage, fireextinguisher, foam cell fuel tank, and a 3 point harness..(but of course all the Nascar fans know that).. Today, everyone drives the same configuration car (for homolgation) with not one single part common to the cars they claim to be a 2006 Nascar Chevy Impala has nearly the same exact components as a 2006 Nascar Ford Taurus (go Ford Taurus, YEE HAW!). At least a Formul1 Ferrari or Porsche is a Ferrai or Porsche. Plus, I can't stand all the media hype, commercialization, advertising, and plain old "Fad" nature of Nascar since the last 15 years. Hey, where were all these nascar fans 30 years ago?...I do have respect for people who grew up with nascar, and thats all they knew as a kid for car racing and they could root for the local track favorite whatever he looked like (and not just the cutest Hollywood hunk). Now, its a another billion dollar industry grabbing its Hollywood hype "Establishing its Brand for Marketing to its prime demographic with spendable income and more to bla bla bla", you know all that wall street press report lingo. Next thing you know, former CEO of Sony will manage Nascar, then move on to Hilton hotels or something, depending on investors confidence and stock prices (not stock cars, they aren't stock)

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/2/2007 3:48:45 AM | Have and WoO too. problem with them all is that they forgot that it is only a bunch of cars driving in circle risking their lives so you can go "MAN, did you see that? His leg flew into the stands! Last year this guys car flew right out of the stadium!" Fun I don't think so but hey if you like it you will find someone that likes it just hang on I won't be sitting in the stands another year.
Besides 1500 was a high price for the five days and tickets i can sit on the freeway for free.

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/2/2007 6:36:00 PM | Being a NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, thank you...very much!) I would most definitely date a fan.
Thanks to "the belly" for the laugh. Your post was very humorous. I found it so even though in addition to being a big fan , Jeff Gordon is my favorite driver. Us NASCAR fans are known for our sense of humor and our tolerance of others.
The "ignorant rednecks" you speak of are almost all millionaires.....are you? They also have some really hot babes by their side.....do you? Jeff Gordon gay??? I imagine only those he had homosexual relations with (if any) know that for sure........you do seem pretty sure about that fact, uhhhmmmmm???

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/2/2007 6:38:17 PM | | I'm personally not a fan but my entire family loves it...I would, I can put up with it and its one subject they can have in common with them. Plus, gives me reading/writing time whilst they watch their race! | |

| Would you date a NASCAR fan? Posted: 12/6/2007 3:11:13 PM | Yes.
Do all those who think NASCAR and their fans are "rednecks"......
You obviously are ignore of the sport, the drivers, the team owners, etc....... I have worked at Lowe's Motorspeedway in the stands as well in the Speedway club. Did you know there is a strict dress code for the Speedway Club and the suites? Do your research..... It takes money to be involved in the sport... lots of it. And I assure you the drivers are not rednecks either.... yes, I know one personally and have meet several more. They are smart, well educated, business men and athletes. Can you sit in a 200 degree car for 3 hours? Look at some photos of Carl Edwards without his shirt and tell me he is not in top fit condition. Check out Ryan Newman's college education and degree. AND .... I am proud to say NASCAR, the drivers, the teams and the fans are some of the most generous and caring people you can find. I have yet to know of other sports' figures you donate large amounts of their money to charities as done the NASCAR family. Notice, I said "family." There is no telling how much $$$ Tony Stewart donates each year to causes we never know about. Check out Victory Junction Gang and the work it does and we NASCAR fans are Proud of it all!!!!!!!
It is so narrow minded to be so judgemental of anyone just because they are a "Fan" of any sport, hobby, etc.
