| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/27/2007 4:56:33 PM | If MVP Awards don't carry any weight to define a players performance, then Brady's Two SB MVP Awards mean nothing as to his performances in those games.
SB MVPs are a bit different then regular season MVP's Ask Payton Manning...How many MVP's would he have with out the receivers that he has? Oh, right, the same as Brady, none. Isn't it funny tho that Brady has MVP in the SB but no help? I think that means he won the SB pretty much on his own, he has never had outstanding recievers, he has just had enough decent ones that he always had an option...
And the thread says "How good is Tom Brady" If you are referring to skill, he is the best skilled football player ever... he may not have had the best career numbers, I like how he is been in the league for what, 6 years at the most, and he is all ready arguably the best QB in the last 30 years... and he has done that in 6 years, no help.... until now

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/27/2007 9:34:54 PM | An MVP is an MVP. You can't have it both ways and says one carries weight because Brady won it and one does'nt because someone else won it. They're both performance based.
As far as Brady winning the Super Bowl on his own. Did he make any tackles? Did he catch his own passes? Did he kick any field goals? Did he intercept any passes? Recover any fumbles? Did he sack the quarteback? Did he reverse any plays and penalties?
LOL You have got to be kidding
It's one thing to sing someones praises but understand that NOBODY regardless of how good he is wins a team game on his own. Especially in football.

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/27/2007 10:42:33 PM | i personally got a kick out of the "best skilled player ever" comment | |

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/27/2007 11:02:11 PM | Yes! Did'nt you know that Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, John Elway, Mike Singletary, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, D*ck Butkus, Ronnie Lott, Dan Marino, Emmit Smith, La Danian Tomlinson, Howie Long, Ken Stabler, Lawrence Taylor, Earl Cambell, Steve Largent and a cast of thousands past and present are licking Tom Brady's Little Toe when it comes to skills.
Maybe the only person who outskills him is Napoleon Dynamite.

The word stud comes to mind. If the Pats' could breed this guy and accelerate his offsprings' growth, they would continue winning for decades! OK. maybe not. You've got to have quality personnel around him as well. But he sure impresses me every time I watch him play.

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/28/2007 4:50:03 AM | | he's a good quarterback and really the best you can do is lump him in with all of the other good quarterbacks when his playing days are over. how can you really compare him with say unitas, or jim kelly or bradshaw, stabauch etc.? different rules , different teams, different personel, there are just way too many factors to declare him or any other as "the best". | |
|
| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/28/2007 6:19:55 AM | ^^^Agreed. He's a stud like the one guy said above. To say he won those other SuperBowls with no help would be a pretty stupid thing to say, unless you were his baby brother or his kid or something. That's a real slap in the face to a pretty darn good organization this decade. Like the one guy said, especially in football with some 40 odd players and teammates all performing roles. Defensive team, special teams and your offensive units all win SupeerBowls together, but it's been my understanding thru the years of watching sports, that defence wins championships.
QB's win games. Defences win championships. Brady manages his offense well. Always has since he's arrived. I'd put him right up there with the best of them. Best all time? No i don't think so yet. He may be by the time he's said and done, but he's not there yet i don't think.
Just an opinion. | |

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/28/2007 6:48:00 AM | | it's really hard to rank guys when they reach that upper tier. i have no idea who would be the best. maybe if i needed to go 90 yards in 2 mins. elway would be my man. but there are so many good ones. it is the one position that a good supporting cast can make a good player look great. a running back can juke a guy or out run him if he has no blocking and a receiver can make the great catch if the ball is off target. but a quarterback can look pretty bad if he gets no protection or someone drops a ball. sometimes that 's the difference between a great qb and a good one. | |

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/28/2007 4:20:35 PM | OK... there ARE many different variables... so, for that; I will agree.
He is one of the best ever though.
You cannot deny it either... if you do; you're either... dumb, blind, or both.

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 11/28/2007 4:54:00 PM | | well what does that mean "one of the best ever". does that mean there are 20 qbs that posses his skills? 30 , 40 ? of all of the guys who have ever played the position, is he in the top 20 percent? and if i don't agree with you does that then mean its name callin' time? | |

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/4/2007 5:43:25 PM | | Brady got 8 more TD and he will be tied with Manning with the most TD in a season. If they continue to play the way they played in the last 2 games, Brady will not surpass the record. I would love to see him do it. | |
|

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/9/2007 4:40:02 PM | | Tom Brady has 4 more TD to tie the record and 5 to beat it, but still none will agree that he has become one of the greatest QB. However he is in my books the greatest QB. | |
|
| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/9/2007 4:45:20 PM | | Tom brady is an excellent Quarterback...What makes him different is that he has a good arm and he makes great descision and less mistakes.Trust me before Pats had Randy they were just a good team that made less mistakes... | |
|
| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/9/2007 4:50:15 PM | Very true, but even with not the greatest WR Brady managed to win games. Having Moss, Welker, and Stallworth has made him better.
I always say a QB is as good as his receivers and vice a versa.
|
| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/9/2007 5:40:24 PM | Top 3 qb's of all time...
OK. THE BEST QB EVER!!!!
Think what you want to think.
Brady IS the best in my opinion.
No question about it...
