| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/9/2007 7:53:10 PM | i like the way brady oozes confidence. he doesn't seem to get frustrated very often like peyton manning does. he seems to know that he will win. he's always in control. always unflappable. let's see how his career plays out. i'm prepared to say that he is one of the best of 5. espn voted dan marino the best of all time even though he never won a ring. for my money it was either montana or elway. okay... montana. | |

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/10/2007 8:02:48 PM | | Seems as if there will be a lot of broken hearts when Manning beats Brady out of the playoffs. Oh the humanity. | |
|
| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/12/2007 7:47:49 PM | He's okay? Are you serious,....get real,...they won 3 superbowls without those receivers. As far as the bitter coach, he's just a one focus, mad genius savant. Brady & the Pats are great. | |

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/12/2007 10:32:27 PM | | Overrated. Look at his team... Welker, Moss, Stallworth, Faulk, Watson... all are amazing recievers wherever they played. And the patriots are 13-0. But look at there division and schedule... First of all, they have to play the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins twice each this year. 6 wins automatically, for those teams suck... The only real good teams they beat were The Colts, who lost to SD, and the Eagles. Yet the NY Giants.. once again.. the NY Giants beat the Eagles twice this year. So, put Brady and his beloved Patriots in the NFC east and lets see how he does. He didnt go up against a real good Defense since the Colts and they BARELY beat them. | |
|
| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/13/2007 8:49:50 AM | But the Patriots did beat them and barely was not the word to use, its comeback. Their schedule was half and half tough. They beat all the winning teams in the league; Dallas, San Diego, Colts, Steelers, and Cleveland.
"So, put Brady and his beloved Patriots in the NFC east and lets see how he does."
The Pats are scheduled to play all the teams in the NFC east this year. Pats beat them all except for the Giants TBD.

are u serious, thats crazy!!. i must admit this i hate the pats, ( go colts ) anyway the pats blew out the nfcs best team by 3 touchdowns.the only team in the nfl that are as good or real close to them are the colts, thats it. love or hatem, and i hate them they are a great team .now there is a point to be made about that crappy division they play in, but really it doesnt matter they would win in any conference or division, maybe not be undefeated, but there goal is the super bowl

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/13/2007 9:36:47 AM | | I dislike the Pats as much as the next guy, but I have to give Tom Brady credit. He is arguably one of the best players in history. Tom Brady won Super Bowls with less than decent receivers, now that Tom has some of the best receivers in the NFL, he is setting all kinds of records this year. | |

He would have already broke the record then...

Young Skywalker..This is not the NFC East of old where from top to bottom it WAS the toughest division in football.

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/14/2007 7:07:22 PM | | He's no Dan Marino. He's got a long way to go before he's the best ever. Staying healthy is the key to the record book and if he can stay healthy then he will probably take over the records from Manning. We all know Manning is on pace to get the records first. Last year everyone was on Mannings jock and ten years ago it was Farve and ten years before that it was Montana etc... Brady is just the flavor of the day. Enjoy it while it lasts Deejay. I'm happy for you. I wish Breese had that receiving arsenal accompanied by that defence. | |
|
| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/14/2007 8:35:02 PM | "He's no Dan Marino. " You're right about that...I can think of three things Brady has that Marino doesn't...and it'll be four after this season
But seriously, one thing that separated the likes of Marino and Elway from Brady when you talk about the best ever, is calling their own plays. I may be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure Brady gets everything called in for him...vritually no improvisation...which really makes him a cog in perhaps the best offensive TEAM I've ever seen, but not necessarily the best QB I have ever seen. Marino and Elway were given carte blanche at times, particularly in the hurry-up. Marino basically re-invented the shovel pass and even Shula admitted that wasn't even in their playbook. (Incidentally, I never liked either Elway or Marino..despised them, to be truthful..and have always been a Brady fan)
Then again, some of the best QBs I have ever seen at calling their own plays, or improvising, couldn't make it in the NFL. Case in point, Doug Flutie. With the wider CFL field, smaller defensive line and the yard off the line of scrimmage, he was amazing in Canada. He had the time to be creative...and made the best of it. But the NFL game was far too structured for him. (And he was too short for the NFL game ha ha)
I would say Brady is a classic example of a student of the NFL game....an honour student He plays within the team's system perfectly and management has supplied him with all the tools necessary.

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/15/2007 11:17:49 AM | There's almost no doubt about it Brady will win an MVP this season. Figure at least 3 superbowls and an MVP and he's already going to be mentioned among the best that have ever played. Then figure there's a good chance of more superbowls in the future, and a good chance at more than 1 MVP. Then you look at the fact that Brady still has maybe 5-10 years to play in the future, and he has a good chance to add more to his resume.
Sure he isn't the best ever yet, but there's a real good chance that he'll be considered the best (or one of the best) ever by the time he retires.
Who knows though, he still has quite a while to go before we see what kind of stats/awards/rings he brings to the table at the end of his career.

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/15/2007 4:42:04 PM | He's no Dan Marino. He's got a long way to go before he's the best ever. In 15 years, the new kid on the block is going to have the same things said about him... insert Tom Brady in place of Dan Marino. 10 years ago people were saying the same things about Brett Favre.
That said, there will never be a unanimous decision because everybody bases their opinions on the matter on different criteria. However, anybody who says Brady sucks is just exhibiting sour grapes because the Pats probably kicked the shit out of their team. He's good... real good, regardless of what excuses people come up with to diminish his accomplishments.

| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/15/2007 5:39:17 PM | | brady is the second best quarterback in football right now. peyton is the best qb in my opinion. brady is a great quarterback with an awsome team. peyton is an awsome quarterback with a good team. it also doesnt hurt that brady seems to have a angel on his shoulder ready to pull him out of the fire whenever necessary. | |
|
| How good is Tom Brady? Posted: 12/15/2007 5:56:49 PM | Brady is better than anyone... ever.
Time to pull up that veil already...

It is called field savy...Peyton has it as well..Romo is getting there as is Roethlisberger. Brady has won more Championships with less talent than Manning. When Peyton's supporting cast falls to injury his offense suffers where with Brady it doesn't seem to happen.

marvin harrison with one catch....e james all of a sudden fumbling the ball....
not taking away what brady did, and I know your a brady fan, but to argue who is better manning or brady?....
its like splitting hairs...I would take either one....

GO PATS!!!!! | |

I didn't know Brady was playing today. Last weekend they said the Pats were going to let their cheerleaders take on the Jets.
Oh... I've just been informed that the announcers weren't serious.
I don't think weather is going to do any favours for the Jets.

Eman..I will give you that. I think if Peyton were a Pat he would be having similar/equal success. Not that he is having a bad year by any standards. I think that just shows you how sound Bilichick's system is. They just don't make many mistakes. Is Bilichick a better coach than Dungee? I think so.. Like I said in a prior thread, There is not another team where a star player will give up more money with another team to stay where they are. With a proven winner..

Five straight 12 game winning seasons and one Super Bowl.....Maybe he can win another 12 next year too.
