| Funny, but real names... Posted: 12/7/2007 9:52:34 PM | As a real estate title searcher I ran across the following names. All true. Harry Bottoms, Harry Livers, O. Fred Lets, Ray Charles Wonderlick, Ophelia Nipples, Arno Worms, Felix Footlick, Betty Beaver and Betty Screws. Of course the other title searchers and I decided to get creative and marry some of these folks off and our favorite was when Betty married Arno and would become Betty Screws Worms. Oye! Also have seen the following ; Latrina as a first name for a girl. I suppose her parents were never in the Military. Saw this name of either a Vietnamese or Cambodian woman, Suc Dong. Some times you see names where the last name is bad enough and then the parents stick the child with the WORST possible first name for the last name. Makes you wonder if they were just totally ignorant or wanted the child to grow up tough. Like Mr. and Mrs. Joose that named their beloved son Peter. No, not Mike or Bill or James. Go figure. | |

| Funny, but real names... Posted: 12/7/2007 10:08:47 PM | | Just remembered another one. Living near Tampa in the mid 80's, I was thinking about getting a vasectomy and in my search of the phone book under Urologists, no kidding, I found Dr.****urn. Why did he decide to become an Urologist? My theory is that he was a real star in Med school with all the potential of ending up at the top of his class with the choice of any medical discipline he chose. However, he partied too much, didn't live up to his potential and his counselor called him in and told him that the only way they would let him graduate, by the skin of his teeth, would be that he would have to become an Urologist. Just my theory. | |

| Funny, but real names... Posted: 12/9/2007 1:37:59 PM | these are all priceless!
years ago an acquaintance, whose last name was Pence, said if he had kids, he would name his son Dwight Picket or a daughter Barb Wire. I sure hope he was kiddin'!
But I do have friends who's last name is Day, and they named their daughter Holly.
I grew up in a Dutch/German farm community. I had a friend in HS who's last name was VanOpdorp. We joked that no matter who she married, she couldn't do worse, but she wound up marrying a Schlossnagle.

| Funny, but real names... Posted: 12/10/2007 8:35:50 PM | When I was in high school, I couldn't believe all the weird names. Must be a lot of hippies in my hometown because here's a list of people I either knew personally or had a class with:
Autumn, Sunshine, Winter, Summer, Cookie and Candy Crumble (sisters), Rainy, Cash, Elvis, Rhiannon (like the song), Israel, Mr. Hiney, Mr. Tegethoff (sounds like 'Take it off', which is what we always said when asking him something), Mrs. Mamoth (someone on the yearbook staff printed her name as 'Wooly Mamoth'. The names people choose for their kids, geez. | |
