| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/1/2007 9:19:01 AM | I will just keep my "nonsense attitude".....
If I am talking to someone that doesnt take time to read my profile, ask questions, or inquiry about who I am, as I do them... Then we all know he is just after one thing, which gives me red flags!
"Given that there are 1,000's of fish in the POF sea, that's a pretty nonsense attitude. Why would someone even bother? It's an absolute impossibility to 'get to know' even a small fraction of potential matches on POF"
This comment above is outlandish.... If you judge a book by the cover, I wouldn't want you to contact me.... Just keep moving on, thee of such a shallow mind!
Folks it just a name! Whats the big deal?

As has been stated before, some take everything literally. Wouldn't know what humor was if it hit them, ran over, backed up and stamped it on their foreheads. Good way to weed those out, though.

Posted: 12/1/2007 10:45:13 AM | I sincerely can not believe the number of ways that people can look at every single morsel of information we put up here and take it apart, roll it over, examine it, dissect it, sniff it, lick it, and then declare it junk.
I appreciate the views posted.
It's important that each country's poor downtrodden online daters are able to espouse their generalizations to someone who cares.
*Flips them each a quarter*
I dare y'all to say the same crap to a real life human that does not post here.
See what they think of your... Armchair shrinkage.
I bet you make them giggle.

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/1/2007 12:44:04 PM | WOW...I am totally amazed how a name can have so many negative responses. Since we are talking about the name thing here. OP, I am going to respond to some of the great answers here first..Since they have kind of struck a personal affront on me and my name. I also have an opinion on the rest of them that you named, But am going to only pick one.. The SASSY ....
I have read every post here.. These are my favorites....
"Sassy"--thinks she's "assertive" but really is just a pissy princess/**** without the money; usually blue-collar; can be pretty without make-up
Thank you for this assumption.. Yep, I can be assertive when needed.. Last time I looked still had some money in my Portfolio,I am running in the black, but heck Christmas is around the corner so, who knows. Blue collar,I guess in some aspect's. When I am holding a clients head as they are puking their guts up in Rehab.. Pretty Blue collar there. Can be pretty w/out Makeup, Well...I don't stop an 8 day clock... And my picture shows no make up so what ever, since I believe in showing the real thing not something fake.
Sassy: rude but we're all supposed to think it's "cute"." It isn't. Gee, I never have ever thought deliberate rudeness is 'cute' more a sign of low class, ignorance, or maybe a low vocabulary...
For sassy I would save lacks impulse control. . This one is just funny to respond to..
"Sassy"-- B I O T C H Well heck, we all can be one of these that is not reserved for a sassy woman..I really think that cannot be reserved for just women...Some how the more I read Forums, I am beginning to think it is not gender bias.
Now, I have Sassy in my name, And Yes, it makes a statement..I love a great banter, I sure in the heck am not boring, nor am I high maintenence. I chose this name, Because I took the definition out of the Dictionary and it fits.. I am always surprised by people, who get up on the wrong side of the bed and decide they are going to attack another person's choice, with out even talking to that person. I personally would rather talk to someone that has a name, that says something. For example I see a few usernames in here, that I adore.. They make me stop and think about that person..
So Please what ever you, OP and others that have such a limited mindset, Pass me by, don't waste my time by contacting me. Since I am one of the polite and answer all my emails. Oh well my rant is over.. Sassy coming down from her soap box.. Gee... I wonder if I should start passing judgement on people with a name that has a car, number, explosives, or I know where they put their first name in their user name. Good grief..

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/1/2007 1:05:05 PM | This thread is great.
The lesson learned here is that no matter your title, you can always stick up for it.
I still wanna see someone stick up for a title in profile like "Axe murderer with bloody apron & hockey mask"

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/1/2007 3:59:17 PM | Had the OP added titles like "Sweetie" or "Baby" or "Honey" they would have been torn apart as well.
Funny how the masses will find something wrong with a simple word.
Me? I'd have taken Sassy off the list. I love the word and all it means!
The others are just monikers for people wanting to project a thought or image to catch attention.
Had they used FATTY, STINKY or PATHETIC they might not get the same results.
Oh, they'd get results..... prolly a thread extolling the virtues of such a name.
Anyone want to get that started? I'm bored.......

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/1/2007 4:16:41 PM | | I'm still not getting why these women are getting so bent out of shape about a few words, that while the meanings can(not really) be debated... still show an extreme lack of creativity. Congrats on being SassyPrincess39567325 on the internet. | |

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/1/2007 4:22:00 PM | "still show an extreme lack of creativity" I can be creative in writing, but coming up with handles or usernames ....well I always sorta just sucked at. Some people have nicknames maybe from childhood or high school. I never had a nickname...my username is my football team. Not creative, but doesn't mean I'm not a creative person in other areas. | |

I was not aware there was a running contest for creativity. It's just a dating site...
Was there a memo? | |

| How do I sleep at night? Posted: 12/1/2007 4:32:57 PM | I feel pressured somehow to explain that a weasel is a small (around 10 inches long) furry mammal of the mustelid variety, notorious for stealing eggs. It should be noted that weasels are different from ferrets in that ferrets stink.
I hesitate to announce that I confess - I am NOT, in fact, a weasel!!! Not so small, not furry, and I don't stink...NOR do I perch on toast (do I have to define this one too?) I don't even own a toaster!!!
I know this means I've been misrepresenting myself on the internet, but it was bound to happen - in fact, it's de rigeur on here. I'm sure this confession will be a huge disappointment, but I felt compelled to come clean.
Guilt sux. At least now, I can live with myself.

You mean... You're NOT a weasel on toast?
I'm telling. | |

| How do I sleep at night? Posted: 12/1/2007 4:39:11 PM | mea culpa. mea maxima culpa. And I understand you're not a certified, genuine, licensed cat herder, either???
Wheeeeee duplicity abounds!

| How do I sleep at night? Posted: 12/1/2007 5:00:37 PM | I pay about as much attention to a persons profile name as I do on what I'm going to be having for breakfast that day. Cause once you get through all the fruits and nuts, all you have left is flakes.. | |
|
| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/1/2007 6:38:33 PM | Wow! tough crowd here I see, I don't assume anything about a person based on their username, I applaud creativity and those who want to stand out from all the rest, besides...it's "just" a username, geez | |

Thanks a lot I spent one whole hard thought out minute coming up with my user name.. My Dog and the sky.. all the other stuff up above fell into place. After I got out here..

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/2/2007 8:45:39 AM | Nope...Don't assume women (or men for that fact) have unhealthy issues when they use those terms. I use those terms in a light-hearted way. Just for fun. In my case I've been known to use flattering light -hearted terms for men in my life also. For me It's just fun. It's not always easy to interpet a lot of terms just by reading something on a profile. | |

Well said on that one ..... wherever you go in the world you will always find that one, especially if you happen to find yourself in a nightclub or bar which caters for the wannanbees, the plastic gangsters and the pathetic little entourages, and what seems to be on the rise in the UK ..... the chavs and the wannabee WAGs . Both of these species have the capacity to be irritating to the point of making you want to vomit. The chav will wear their ignorance and stupidity like a medal and the wannabe WAGs, while some may look good the illusion is shattered as soon as the open their mouths. Rant over!!!!! Peace out.

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/2/2007 10:25:52 AM | I wonder...
Haven't you men ever thought about yourselves as the prize to be had?
I mean if you think you're a great catch, decent person or if you think you're at all attractive.. why don't you think of yourself as a prize to be had?
I personally wouldn't ever name myself using any of the words listed in the subject line, but that's because they seem juvenile and idiotic. I do realize.. and have seen a couple of examples of women naming themselves thusly to be ironic. That's usually amusing.
I'm using a masculine handle, for cryin out loud. I'm not actually a guitar playing Mexican male. What do I know?
Congrats on being SassyPrincess39567325 on the internet.
I think that's the worst thing about some of those handles.. so common.
Every girl is a Princess. Every woman is a Diva.
Um thanks for the 'vote of confidence' but no... I'm not. Nor do I aspire to be. Honestly, I think I'd rather be a guitar playing Mexican male, but it would involve surgery and guitar lessons.

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/3/2007 9:43:08 AM | | I think I hit a nerve when i posted, but some of the women that were the most sarcastic in their replies had photos that showed them with big hair and wearing tons of jewelry,I think I called it right. | |

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/3/2007 9:59:42 AM | Hmmm...funny dat.
One of my very favorite poster on these forums is Sassy______, and I can assure you that she isn't any of those things described here......it's just a name for goodness sake! The woman I speak of is one of the kindest, most accomplished young women I know....sheesh...talk about generalisations!!
| |
|
| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/3/2007 10:09:26 AM | Some women (maybe men too, I'm not that sure) do name themselves as they see themselves. Some of those cases... the woman proves to be kind of nightmare.
Some of us go for the cute/fun names that don't mean a whole lot in terms of being descriptive.
Is weaselontoast really a weasel? Does she actually fit on a piece of toast? Does Herding_Cats actually herd cats? I can assure you, I'm not a guitar-playing Mexican male.
It's incredibly hard to tell if Sassy101 or Deeva840 or Princess511 (nick's made up, relax) are actually sassy, deeva-ish or princess-y in bad ways just by looking at their profiles.. Gotta let them talk first.
I'd have to say.. lame as it sounds: Some do fill out the bad connotations and some wear the name as a joke or because it's just "cute" or to be ironic. Can't tell til you start talkin to them.
|
| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/3/2007 10:10:11 AM | | HAHAHA! That's too funny! I have seen those words posted on some girl's profiles and I have to say, that most of them LOOK FAR from being any goddess, diva or princess. LOL | |
