I disagree with that my profile says sassy.....im not rude, just VERY blunt!! and i tell it like it us.... all of my friends dont think im rude! lol..... neither do most people i meet other wise.... some may think its rude or that im a B!TCH... but that is there opinion....and we all know opinions are just like ass holes ...everybody has one and thats fine becuase i can be a b1tch sometimes too!!! and dont hide that....
there in lies the argument. for you to take that 3-4 minutes when your writing your profile to think the words diva, princess and sassy describes you either jokingly or seriously means it describes a part of you. countrytat you must think thats a distinctive and maybe attractive part of you but at first glance of your post it comes out as rude (yea being blunt is very similar to being rude) and some girls can get away with being a b itch, sometimes its even glorified. doesnt make it a desired trait except for sadistic men or women IMO

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/14/2007 8:17:34 AM | I can understand the motivation.
The thought process: If you put yourself up as a Great Prize, then the men have to bring their A-game.
"Hey, man, don't come at her tryin' just to tap her ass, she's a lady, yo"
If I am Lady Princess Diva Sassy McAttitude, then not only will men VIE to "win me over", they will bring me flowers and worship me. I deserve to be worshipped.
Unfortunately:
the fact that just about every woman cops this attitude, and has taken it to extremes (seen the shirt "It's all about me"?) means that it's now a red flag for spoilt little c*nt.

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/14/2007 8:21:28 AM | I am an empathic healer, its a trait not something I asked for. I pick up others deeper issues and see where they stem from. If I tell someone of those issues its on order for them to take a look at the issues which cause them to be as they are.. Their reoccuring self fulfilling prophesies due to their past hurt. To tell someone of their issues may hurt, but it is the begining of helping a person to heal. You have absolutely no chance of moving from your problems when you constantly blame others for everything. If you want to know what the biggest red flag is in the mind of a councelor? Its when a person contantly blames others and will not take responsibility for their own actions. Those that have gotten themselves into abusive realtionships over and over again without attempting to change the pattern. Rather thay continue to pass blame.. So being blunt is not in all senses being ****y.. it can be the begining of enlighenment at the reasons why patterns contiuously for in peoples lives. It is the begining of a journey of healing to understand the problem. If this makes me sassy then so be it.. but I am certainly blunt. I dont think Im a **** others might. But then this is their judgment isnt it? Sending unconditional love to all Catherine akastar xx Can I get the plain English version of that ? No offense but that sounds like a lot of New Age fluff to me. See...that's being blunt in the new vernacular. That's what people consider blunt these days. Now tell me you didn't take offense or didn't find it rude. Tell me I couldn't have put that in more tactful terms. See what I'm driving at here ? | |

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/14/2007 8:24:56 AM | It means she's a nice girl in all probability, but flakier than a hippie's breakfast.
Lots of dolphin prints in her place as well as crystal healing type things.
Of course, women like that are hella easy to ****, all ya gotta do is convince her that that's what the Tarot cards said, and that you have this MYSTICAL DEEP CONNECTION that started in a past life when she was Marie Antoinette and you were the doomed King of France.
I won't pull that kind of black magick, but it's amazing who does, and who can.

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/14/2007 8:49:16 AM | I have called myself sassy before. I just thought it meant witty-silly. I choose Za Za Za Zoom not because I think I am any prize but because I thought it sounded like a catchy name.
I am looking for that za za za zoom feeling when I kiss a man and your foot starts thumping like a cartoon and next you know your floating! Not really but if life was like a cartoon that is what I would like just from the kiss, mind you.
My point being, you need to take it in context.

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/14/2007 9:15:45 AM | Gotapulse, are you sure you're not just being sassy? Stalked your posts enough for now.....i'm outta here
OT: My only impression of girls with names like princess, diva, goddess.....is that they must be dumb. I don't think guys find them cute at all but more like annoying. I don't actually think they're trying to impress anyone(unless they're dumb) just that they don't feel like thinking of something more creative.

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/16/2007 7:09:55 PM | I think you have to take it in context, as most of the ones I've seen it's pretty obviously tongue in cheek. I think some use it to screen out those that are too serious and don't have much of a sense of humor.
yep, thats it, i'd say. ^^^^^^^^^^bucsgirl msg 7
Msg 5 and 6, ur answers were harsh..one of u lives in mtns the other in la la land...

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/16/2007 9:15:13 PM | Goddess,Diva,Princess,Sassy......yea they consider themselves a prize, often the booby prize and I don't mean their anatomy. It really means they are self centered ,self serving b****** who think the entire world revolves around them and we,the male species, only exist to serve their every whim. Just another agenda to be dealt with. Another waste of oxygen. | |

Well at least it's an actual word instead of some jumble....like another mild amusement, those without pictures that are the most vocal whiners on the pic threads.
There's a joke about saving your breath....ehh...sense of humor, like common isn't all that widely known or used.

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/16/2007 9:36:30 PM | i agree with # 1 thru # 10. with the exception of # 4 . i have on my profile , looking for that sexy tomgirl. they are not afraid to get dirty and i am not talking sexually.i have dated all of the above and i will never go back. give me the girl next door. the one that is not hooked on herself and thinks the world revolves around her. someone that has substance and thinks of others not just herself. i don't care how beautiful you are on the outside. if you are not beautiful on the inside, your not beautiful, period. and i can see i am not the only one, male / or female on this site who thinks this way..any woman that needs a hair dryer , nail polish and make-up on a camping trip is just too much of a high maintanance person for me...SO LETS GIVE THANKS FOR ALL THE REAL WOMAN OUT THERE!!!!! | |

"women on dating sites consider themselves a prize to be had..." You bet!!! I do believe this.. Absolutely.. The same as the man that I end up with will be.. He will be the greatest prize of all in my mind.. As I hope to be the greatest prize in his...
I believe the picking and choosing has to be mutual. I am sassy.but I know I am kind. I am gracious.. I expect all of things in here since I expect to give them back each and everyday to the guy I give my heart...

Thank you for your honesty and candor. Let me translate for those of you who missed out on what this means. *clears throat*
"I am all that, the bee's knees and a bag of chips, too. Since I was 14, I've been basically hit up for sex all the time, and the sassier I get, the more lapdogish the men get to try and get into my pants.
Heck, check out some of these manginas who basically cravenly say "there there dear, I'm a gentleman, don't listen to these ruffians and shag me instead".
So yeah, the world is MY oyster, thanks to MY oyster.
I am waiting for McDreamy to show up. Good looking, independantly wealthy, interesting job where he can take time off any time he wants to be with me, roses every day, hung like a mastodon and is so devoted to me that when I shag the pool boy he will massage my feet with Chanel No 5 to get back into my good books."

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/17/2007 8:31:00 AM | I thought sassy meant speaking up for yourself, standing your ground, being opinionated and challenging. Think of when you tell a child not to sass you? These qualities in an adult are perfectly acceptable. I guess if you prefer the opposite (timid, no opinions, only agrees with you) then I suppose it's something you wouldn't appreciate.
I think people take way to much time trying to read between the lines on dating sites. If you see something questionable don't always assume you're right, try communicating with the person to figure out what they mean.

And you think wrong.
Speaking up for yourself is assertiveness. Standing your ground is tenacity.
Being disrespectful, bratty, and insulting is "sassy".
Opinionated and challenging per se is fine, so long as it is done with respect for the other person.
You might ask yourself, hey bikerscum, you're an insulting bitter ***hole, what the hell are you talking about, walk the walk you talk.
Well, I've learned in the past few months that you only interest a woman if you're giving her something. And she doesn't even have the courtesy to PRETEND to show you respect while she's taking.
No respect given, none returned.

Thank You for the kind words but I do feel I have to clarify.. I said exactly what I meant. There is no hidden meaning or message there..
The bottom line on this subject to me is everything is open to interpretation. I have followed this thread occassionaly when I am bored. I am amazed at the immediate thought process of some people. But life is a dance and in a dance you are hopefully learning new steps each and everyday..
while you about made me spit coffee.. on moniter.. Thanks for the laughter. Mastadon.. Have a great day

And for those that say 'it's to ward off the humorless", for every one of these I can find three that are meant in earnest.
As it says, plenty of fish and I'm not going to waste my time trying to find out which is which.
So find another way to "ward off the humorless".

| Goddess,diva.princess,sassy---What do they mean? Posted: 12/17/2007 10:24:39 AM | I was referring to Cassago's response on page 1.
"I'd also be interested to see what men think. I find these to be derogatory terms. If I were a man, I'd would go right over these profiles--unless you like high-maintenance women.
Here are my connotations: "Goddess"--worship her or die; usually granola; not necessarily pretty "Diva"--do as she says or be gone; usually city-chic; not necessarily pretty, but wears lots of make-up to good effect "Princess"--do as she says or she'll pout; usually Beverly Hills/Hamptons rich brat; often pretty as a picture, which is why men let them get away with it "Sassy"--thinks she's "assertive" but really is just a pissy princess/**** without the money; usually blue-collar; can be pretty without make-up "
