It sort of became our song because it seemed everywhere we went it was playing when we walked in or on the radio when we got in a vehicle. I never really paid much attention to the lyrics until a few months after my loss I decided to travel. I was a bit drunk sitting in a club somewhere in Asia when it came on a jukebox and I realized the words had more meaning than than I ever thought. Maybe it was just timing.

For the Brazilian, I'd have to say Shaniece...."I love your smile'' because that song reminds me of him. I fell in lust at first sight due to his brillant smile.
And the last bf, Indian...on our first date I was trying to describe this song to him I loved that was ARab/Indian....as we were eating Middle Eastern food. Well suddenly the song cam on Harba Whine by Cheb Khaled....so that song reminds me of our first date. | |

Posted: 3/2/2009 6:09:09 AM | Well I don’t have any ‘vengeful’ or ‘achy breaky’ songs that come to mind when I reflect upon my ‘exes’. When I separated with my 1st husband (YES - I have been married more than once) he moved back to Sarasota and I stayed in Memphis. He came back to Memphis about 8months later determined to make our relationship work. He had spent the intervening months ‘perfecting’ a song that he wanted to play and sing for me:
“And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that its done
I hope you don’t mind
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you’re in the world”
When I think about that song or hear it………….I have such a bitter/sweet reaction! In retrospect he probably was the BEST FISH in my life and I was too selfish, ambitious and young to realize it! | |

Posted: 3/2/2009 8:50:36 PM | | There are so many....and I have a few ex's to dedicate to *LOL*....but to my last ex-hubby.....I'd have to say Britney Spears.....Do You Want a Piece of Me?...just because he's all into the booty call thing. *LOL*...........for my childrens' dad.....the one I was with for 25 years....it would have to be anything with the message of "too little, too late"......he cheated for almost the entire marriage then when he realized I was going to leave him when the last child was gone he changed his tune....no pun intended. *LOL* Then it was all about me....taking me out all the time, flowers at work, buying me stuff all the time......but even though I still loved him....actually still have feelings for him but nothing to build another relationship on.....it was all too little too late. | |
