Great thoughts from ppl on this thread. Paperdoll really hit on the mark in her initial post on this thread. Think of this.. for the big woman/man, they can lose the weight if they want... &, like so many have pointed out... just do it if one doesn't want to be "fat". There are other things a person can have which can't be changed...i.e. height... except via artifical means (high heels/high heeled boots, etc)...which can wear on the legs over time. | |

It takes all kind of different strokes, for all kinds of folks. But I've noticed that the curvy girls get the hugs. I have one particular girlfriend whom you guys would have to see to believe. She is very large, and very curvy. I wish my ass looked like that in my blue jeans. LOL! She is so popular that her boss asked her to Please take Valentines Day Off. The flowers and candies are just rediculous that she gets at her office. She is also very comfortable with her weight. She has settled now with a very tall good looking kinda skinny guy, who adores her. She's a super roll Model for anyone. BBW are really Big and Beautiful all the way inside right to their Hearts. | |

Posted: 5/20/2005 8:47:58 PM | I was STOKED to see this thread. Way to go christina! I truly believe in the theory that what you project into the universe effects what you receive. In other words..if you project the scenario (even subconsiously) of being unworthy, having little or no self respect, self love, and the desperation to be accepted and wanted, you are most likely to attract someone who will feed on that vulnerability and swoop in like a vulcher.
Who needs that? Whether its your weight, your hair, or your left big toe that is effecting the way you see yourself in relationship to the world...address it...fix it if you can...and move the hell on.
BTW...just took up kickboxing... ...awesome way to "address" some issues!!!

No, I am not too scared to reply. I am a tall AND a big woman and proud of it. LOL! I know that there are men out there that are looking for a woman of size and not just to debase her or anything---I met and married (and was widowed both times) two tall and big men that gave me my beautiful children. They both were wonderful husbands AND fathers. If I find another man then that will be great but if not, I will still live and thrive. Yeah, I get tired of them (BBW threads) sometimes myself.

Great post btw. I'm what some may consider a BBW. I used to sit around feeling sorry for myself, mostly because my ex husband constantly used to say "I'd love you if you were thinner" (Now that I think of it, I should've come back with "I'd love you if you were richer" LMAO).
But you know what? I've started loving myself. Sure, I have days when I feel like crap. Skinny girls do too. And, I know that I could be (want to be, should be) doing something about my weight. Right now, however, I'm focusing on being a good mom and running a business. My doctor has even said to me "Don't worry about it so much. You've got your plate full...wait until your youngest is in school all day, then you'll have time to start execising".
For the meantime, I'm accepting who I am, and realising the true beauty in myself. Granted, sometimes I forget (like today... not having a particularily good day today), but I'm at the point where I can look in the mirror and say to myself, "You're beautiful". That is a major thing for me, b/c all my life I've hated the way I look.
And you know what? Once I started loving myself, and loving the way I look (even though I'd rather be a bit healthier)... I actually had men start telling me how pretty/beautiful I am. It started this February. I met a man for coffee, and the next day, he left a message on my machine telling me how beautiful and creative and intellectual I was. (It still feels weird to have men compliment me, as my ex that I was with for 10 years did nothing but criticize me... didn't even tell me I was beautiful on our wedding day).
The guy I'm with now (that I met here on POF) actually told me once that he was "Totally into me." and that he found me "Drop Dead Gorgeous". So there.
Maybe all the BBWs that are complaining are chasing after men who have different ideals in their mind. Guys who only find skinny super-model types attractive.
I agree with the initial post here: love yourself. Make yourself attractive to yourself (does that make sense?) Don't worry about what other people think about you... first worry about what YOU think about you. If you don't love yourself, who will? Men are attracted to confident women. When I was able to confidently love myself, a great guy kinda just fell into my lap.

When I am thinner I am going to: climb Everest, run a marathon, go for that promotion, say hi to the cute guy at work...
Not me! I am proud of who I am, proud of my achievements and comfortable within myself. If someone just isn't that into me ,that's perfectly fine. I have my own preferences too, when it comes to the "perfect man".
Just remember "Don't waste the pretty". | |

I am more than happy to be a voluptuous woman.. because the number of my weight does not dictate the woman I am on the inside. Sexiness, intelligence, attractiveness eminates from the inside out - that is what people will see right off the bat. Have I been judge for my weight - of course.. and I will say this.. "If you don't like what you're looking at.. keep on walking" because I don't have time for such superficial beings.
If you want someone to love YOU... then you have to love yourself first. Again.. you attract what you project... Good thread SC! | |

Im fat...so what..i think im damn cute..:) im working on losing weight but it dosent happen over nite...the shirt im wearing in my pic..took it today..first time ive been able to wear it its always been to small :) yay me...I've accepted my body..I'm fine being sexy and being the size I am....Much love to the guys who love a thick sexy woman :) :) MUAH gimme some love
dont like who ya are change it..if God wanted us all to be the same size..he wouldnt have given us the knowledge to invent twinkies;) I stopped making fat jokes about myself...and i have no problem showing my sexy side....we all have one...Flaunt your assests and be proud of the woman ya are...size 2 or size 20. | |
