^^Remember that Eli could have gone to San Diego if he didn't pitch a fit and insist on being in NY. I hear ya though. Rivers has a major luxury in LT.

I still can't believe that there is a new LT in town. I thought Lawrence Taylor retired that name.

Lady Tomlinson?

I guess he is a classy guy.

He always says that he is.

If he isn't winning, he's crying.

If his last name wasn't Manning, he would have been benched a long time ago

get a grip people its still young in his carrer, look others have had worse starts to there carrers, example troy aikman fist 3 seasons he had 31tds and 46ints, john elway had 47 tds and52ints compare to eli he has54tds and 43 ints, and his winning % is just as good, iam not saying that he will every be as good as either of these players, but the point that iam making is if the cowboys and broncos would have used this type of mentality with these players, well think of what they would have missed out on.

horrible examples with elway and aikman.....difference is they were getting better as qb's ....

elway won an mvp his 4th year and also led his team to the superbowl, there is also a little thing called "the drive"...im sure you have heard of it....

aikman also led his team to the superbowl in his 4th year and had one of the best postseasons for a qb.....

they got better every season, eli doesnt seem to be getting better, it seems he stays "average"...I will say again, I dont think eli is horrible, he is ok for a qb, but he doesnt seem to be getting better....

you say that because you have a historical prespceptive to look at, fact is back then iam shure the critics were not saying that then , just like elis critics now.as far as aikman goes look at the other hall of famers we played with on the offensive side of the ball, how many hall of famers do you see on that giants offence? my point about that is good teams win , not good players!

hey denny, i dont think you are going to convince eman of anything, eman doesnt think eli is anything more than ok. i got that from the 10+ times he stated that. if eli were to establish himself as a credible quarterback the time is now. he took his first steps the last couple weeks. i would love him to continue on the path he is currently on and shut all the haters up. we can only wait and see, sunday is where the truth is expressed. until then we all have our opinions

great points, i think you are dead on, look iam not a giants fan, iam a colts fans, so maybe i have some bias in wanting to see eli do well, but i think its more that iam just sick of all these arm chair qbs acting like they know every thing about the game

i pull for peyton also (unless he is playing the giants). i have always liked peyton even before i knew who eli was. i wish they played each other more often thoug. imagine a manning bowl, thats my dream matchup for the big game. i really think most people do not realize how powerful the influence of the NY press has on popular opinion. eli has been getting a bum wrap from the moment the giants threw him into the NFL prematurely

I thought that's what one of the purposes of these sports forums was. Just like all us armchair politciians in the politics threads, and all the armchair shrinks and therapists in the dating threads.

Good point about the historical perspective. We'll see on Sunday. Looks like the G-Men are a good good road team which they'll need to be being the wild card entry. We've seen the wild card go all the way before. The NFC's still fairly wide open in my mind.

i give up...your the official "eli manning excuse machine"......

just to let you know....elway is the only bronco in the hall of fame...meaning...he took teams to the superbowl w/o hall of fame players....(im talking about the three he lost in the 80's)

iam not making excuses for him , iam just saying thats its way to early in his carrer to give up or label him a bust, also i dont think just getting to the super bowl is going to bee enough for eli, i think he will have to win it to get the critics of his back, so with that beigin said in comparison to the elwat point, do you remember that he had terrel davis and 1 hell of a offensive line when they won

Well we are just days away from the next game. Giants -vs- Cowboys.

Seems to me the edge might be shifting

Giants last 8 away games 8-0
Last three games of the season : Total points scored Giants 83 Cowboys 32
Not including the wild card game of 24 points by the giants

To beat one team 3 consecutive games in a season. Can it be done? Has it been done?

Big game!!!!

All loaded up
Damn I forgot the chips

....(im talking about the three he lost in the 80's)

read what i said....the three teams he took the superbowl in the 80's had NO hall of fame players...

yes i know he had terrel davis, he also had shannon sharpe, howard griffith....i agree those teams were loaded, my point being is that elway didnt need hall of famers to get to three superbowls...that was your excuse....

look, im done with the eli debate, he is an average qb....if your happy with an average qb as the first overall pick, then so be it....

The way things have been going with Romo and Jessica in Mexico......I have a feeling the Giants might win. Romo needs to get out of Jessica's a$$ and start concentrating on the game.

Although it is a fine piece of a$$.....

Eli Manning is going to the superbowl
Posted: 1/21/2008 7:43:41 AM
i remember as the last fieldgoal attempt was flying through the air i was in a different world. i watched a million field goals in my life but i could not immediatley register this one. i think it was until the moment when i saw eli jumping on someone that i actually understood that the giants were going to the superbowl, i could almost hear my grandma cheering. what an emotional roller coaster that game was. the rivers versus eli dispute is over for now, eli wins. sly you almost had a perfect call of the outcome, good job. chatterbox, sorry about favre but he has enough hardware in the NFL. changing of the guard. so how is the number one draft pick doing now eman? earthling your opinions are all used up, go take a nap. i cant forget tiki. i was very dissapointed when he decided to retire but i can live with that. when he started talking trash about the team i was shocked. tiki, FU.

Funny how the success or failure of an offense as a whole, On any team falls squarely on the QB's shoulders. The Giants certainly have come together as a team since Thanksgiving. Even if the Giants don't win the Super Bowl I believe this is could be the turning point in Eli's career. Time will tell...
