| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/3/2008 9:47:58 PM | and so ends the 2007-08 NFL football season. sometimes amazing things happen in life. as a sports fan i live vicaroiuosly through the events that conspire in the season of my choosen teams. today i participated in one of the greatest sporting events that i have ever witnessed. the lowest seeded wildcard team to ever reach the superbowl beats the only team to ever go 18-0 in a season. i dont see how an upset could ever be any bigger in the NFL. the most improbable of characters. the defense who couldnt stop anybody the first 2 and a half games of the season, contains one of the greatest offenses ever. well enough to win the game.
to the giants organization and all the fans who believed in the team and thought that the game could be won i say congrajulations to you and enjoy this exciting and wonderful victory.
for the patriot fans who showed dignity while conducting themselves as fans i say good game and look forward to competitive battles in the future.
to tiki and his incredibly large following of naysayers. to the many who showed no honor and thought the giants were not an obstacle and were already celebrating the 19-0 i say nothing to you. the time for talk is over. reality always does the talking so much better
THE NEW YORK GIANTS AND ELI MANNING WON THE SUPERBOWL

| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/3/2008 10:12:01 PM | I still don't really believe what I just saw. I've always hated the Giants (being a Vikings fan), but I was sure pulling for them tonight. Welker was awesome tonight, and you could have made a case for MVP for him, because the Pats did very little else without him today.
I thought the game was over when Moss hauled in that touchdown. And when Eli was leading the comeback charge down the field, I had little faith in them. And I must admit that every time Brady launched those last few passes, I figured they would be caught or a flag would be thrown.
Has there ever been a better play and catch ever? That might have been the best football play ever. If not, pretty damn close! Would be remiss if I didn't mention the AWESOME Giants defence tonight. When was the last time the Pats got held to 7 points per half? When did anyone last see Brady get smacked around like that?
Would be interested to hear the Pats thoughts on the meager 14 points they scored. Especially after they scoffed at the 17 that Plaxico spotted them in his prediction. Honestly, when are these guys going to learn to keep quiet leading up to these games?
I'll go back to hating you again next year. But until then, congrats, Giants. Good job!
|
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/3/2008 10:52:03 PM | I still think Eli isn't as good as the defense is. WOW!!! Congratulations!!! GIANTS are better than any prognasticator could ever hope to be. Whoa. 17 and Fishernick and other Giants fans, congratulations on being the champs. I'll be the first to say that I was wrong about the Giant's chance to win this game. The Giants won and there is no disputing that fact. | |
|
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/3/2008 11:10:05 PM | I could have said that the Giants oline was holding (anyone could have seen it) when Eli went to throw that last ditch effort... but, it still doesn't mean a thing.
The Pats oline didn't show up, and that was the main reason why the Pats lost.

| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/4/2008 3:26:10 AM | For three quarters, Tom Petty was the highlight, but that 4th quarter was great. And Manning's game-winning drive drive was brilliant. Hats off to the Giants! And yes, as Dj said, the O-Lines were the difference. | |
|
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/4/2008 4:08:34 AM | | how about eli now, most of the year people said hes not a leader and will never win, well i guess they where wrong.that was a great game , and except for last year when my colts won, this is the happist i have been. it was a good fun game to watch, but watching the pats perfect season go up in flames was priceless.what a game that giants defense played, in my opinion the decesion to play his starters in the last week of the season against the pats, payed huge dividends for the giants.now all the eli haters can get of that guys back, a average qb no more.congrats to eli , the giants and there fans. job well done, as a colts fan i thank the giants for beating the pats,as a football fan i thank the giants for pulling off the upset of upsets. | |

| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/4/2008 8:03:56 AM | | did everyone see the close up on peyton right after eli scored the go ahead touch down towards the end. he was on another world, pumping his fist and yelling. some women tried to take part in peytons celebration but it was a manning celebration only. i try to imagine what its like being the reigning superbowl MVP to watch your little brother win the super bowl the next year. so i guess there wont be any more advice from peyton. i still am having trouble believing what i saw yesterday. did that really happen? | |
|
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/4/2008 8:10:03 AM | | You always here of the quarterback taking the offensive line out to dinner, well I think Eli might want to consider taking the defensive line out aswell.....Way to go Eli, and to your gene pool | |
|
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/4/2008 2:07:02 PM | DJ said: The Pats oline didn't show up, and that was the main reason why the Pats lost.
Here comes the trash............. seems I heard that statement before right DJ

| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/5/2008 3:46:05 AM | | How can anybody say the Pats line didn't show up. They did what they could do the giants blitzed and made Brady uncomfortable. I haven't bought a newspaper yet because a lot of people owe Eli and The coach an apology. Jerry Reese kept a coach everybody dug a grave for 1 more year. That was very fair of him The organization looks real good for that. | |
|
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 2/6/2008 6:31:59 PM | | Actually I read in the paper that Brady was yelling at the offensive line often during the game. I think they might have let go one or two players go through to slam his butt to the ground so he shut up! | |
|
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 7/1/2008 7:52:01 AM | Couldn't agree with you more 17 AGAIN
So does Eli have what it takes to do it again? Being he has been in the playoffs 4 consecutive times (check me on that) I am very sure he will be there again.
With more confidence in himself and also the entire teams confidence and capabilities to overcome the NY Media and just get the job done.
Time is etching away for another football season. I am ready and everything is in its place. I just repainted the family room where we witnessed the amazing Superbowl Victory. I am waiting as patient as I can for a new season.
Lets go Giants! Eli lets show them its no fluke and your not a one time wonder ........... New 2008 motto: "Little Giants Rule Patriots Drule"

| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 7/1/2008 7:08:31 PM | I knew you couldn't resist Wiz
"THE PAST IS THE PAST, THE GIANTS WILL FINISH LAST!!!"
Care to make a wager on that statement?
Oh never mind you are a welsher when it comes to bets. Some lame excuse that you did not post a picture of yourself in a Giants jersey when the Giants beat your Pathetic patriots that no way can ever lose to the Giants!. I know I didn't sign your contract or something.
|
| |
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 7/1/2008 7:24:29 PM | See how fast we twist words. Same ol Wiz
You said they will finish last! I said care, to make a wager on that statement.

You referred it to "we", so you also admit that you twist words too....
|
| Eli Manning the super bowl MVP Posted: 7/1/2008 11:58:30 PM | To The WIZ Nothing is going to satisfy your arrogant personalities!!! Where were you two guys shooting your mouth off when the Patriots were the laugh of the NFL. They still haven't caught up to the Cowboys /49ERs/ or Steelers so dont come in here like they are top dogs of the NFL. THEY ARE NOT! Eventually they may win 5 Superbowl's but even if they do show a little class and learn to keep your egos in tact. Some day they will return to struggle just like San Fransico, Pittsburgh and Dallas. has over the years. When they do trust me you just might learn to humble your little A$$ because some day they will be at the bottom looking up and you wont have anything to brag about except the past. Try to see other peoples aspect of things instead of being so sarcastic and you might just find it comes in handy when Patriots do fall from the heavens
Yes they are a Great team but they are not the best yet had they not been so consumed with going undefeated then maybe they would have focused a little better for the Superbowl. I'm sure it wasn't easy but near the end of the season every game took a little out of them and they came close to losing one or two of those games before the Superbowl.
Forget the excuses for they will only come back to haunt you! They lost to a team with a great scheme and defensive linemen who were more than a hand full for my Cowboys who also has a very good offensive line. Don't try to tell me the Pats offensive line didnt show up, they were'nt the only team that couldnt keep up with the Giants great pass rush . Look at the names and think for a minute Strahan, Umenyiora, Tuck and line backers Kiwanuka and Pierce. Pierce is all pro Kiwanuka is on his way . Strahan and Umenyiora are all pro Tuck is on his way to being all pro not to mention the 3 or 4 other vets that were replacing them with fresh legs on first and second down. Now thats close to 5 pro bowlers out of 7 players in a 4/3 allignment blitzing Brady Give the NY Giants what their due they played one hell of a game offensively and defensively The Giants were hot, and winning most of there late season games when you play a team who is peaking at the perfect time you stand a chance to lose. Go ahead and bow your heads, I wouldnt, the Giants including Eli played a great game whats to be ashamed about, its not like they got blown out by the Miami Dolphins but Remember those days where the Patriots were at the bottom because they will be there again maybe sometime soon , who knows.
Im A Cowboys Fan........... always have been, and its been a long while , how ever we get closer every year yet we still loose trust me it humbles you in a big way. because when they stink you learn to listen better rather than brag
You havent got any other choice enough said.

Nothing is going to satisfy your arrogant personalities!!!
My arrogant personality? Because I responded to an arrogant comment about my team. Get a clue....There is only one reason you are attacking me and only me, it is not because you think that I am arrogant, its because I am a Patriot fan.
They still haven't caught up to the Cowboys /49ERs/ or Steelers so dont come in here like they are top dogs of the NFL. THEY ARE NOT!
If you want to compare Super Bowls, then I can agree with you. On the other hand the accomplishments the Patriots done last year and throughout this decade, none of those teams you have mentioned above has come near it. Although I don't know where this comment came about and I never mentioned any of this. You are trying to discredit something that in no way was ever talked about. Get a clue....
Eventually they may win 5 Superbowl's but even if they do show a little class and learn to keep your egos in tact.
The Patriots are the most classy team you can ever come about. What? Do you think your Cowboys have more class than the Patriots? Do you remember that comment, "Get your popcorn ready"? Now that wasn't classy....Get a clue.
When they do trust me you just might learn to humble your little A$$ because some day they will be at the bottom looking up and you wont have anything to brag about except the past.
Well ....Right now I am going to enjoy the moment. Nevertheless I did go through hardships when the Patriots weren't the greatest team, so I do know all about it.
Try to see other peoples aspect of things instead of being so sarcastic and you might just find it comes in handy when Patriots do fall from the heavens
Reread msg 165 to 170....Thank you. Get a clue.

If you go and see other threads that I have posted, you will see that I have stated the Giants beat the Patriots fair and square.
You have disregard everything I have said, and not only that, but not realizing what other people have said. Then stating things that were never mentioned....Get a clue.
The Patriots are my team and I will defend my team like you would defend yours.
GET A F*CKING CLUE!!!! | |

Defending your team hmmmm when was your team attacked? Was it "Little Giants rule Patriots Drule" my new 2008 Motto? Or was it Pathetic Patriots?
Now if I go back and see all your posts prior to the Superbowl How many times did you attack the Giants .......... many times. How many times did you attack me personally many.
But hey I laugh and move on. I am sure you will be here to battle any one that disagrees with you till you have the last say.
And the language my my seems you got a little upset there Wizard of OZ guess you might have to go back behind the screen and pull those ropes and spin those wheels to make you seem more Brainiac
Thanks for the laugh bud......................

How many times did you attack the Giants .......... many times.
Yup....I did. How many times did you attack the Patriots? What you say? Many times....Get a clue.
How many times did you attack me personally many.
Now you are a victim?....Get the hell outta here....You know what you did too. Your comments were extremely abusive too. Get a clue....
Defending your team hmmmm when was your team attacked?
I was defending a comment that was made by you, jokingly....Not that you "attacked" it, more like try to instigate it. You were looking for me to reply and you know you stalk me in these forums. Everytime I make a post on the Patriot threads you are right there behind me with phony comments.
Now Deed48 started with things that I have never said....
But hey I laugh and move on.
Stop lying....
I am sure you will be here to battle any one that disagrees with you till you have the last say.
Only you I disagree with....I would stop, but you continue to come up with pieces of information that is rubbish.
