Whether they do or nothing is not the fecking point - it's the fact that prices have now risen to £1.07 - £1.09 for unleaded and £1.09 - £1.11 for diesel. How come they are allowed to get away with it?!!?!! Isn't the cost of petrol coming down?!!?

I was under the impression that a lot of the supermarkets were supplied by independent oil refinerys based around the Thames... ??

Most of the major oil refineries that are in the UK are run by Shell, ESSO & BP (my brother work(ed) for ESSO). Most of the minor oil refineries are supplied by the major oil refineries (there are also a few other major brand names that most UK people are blissfully unaware of (the UK is small fish on a global scale) and wouldn't generally recognise).

As is widely known, Supermarkets use petrols from exactly the same refineries that supply the branded petrol stations, but a lot of the time minus any cleaning additives. So in essence, the only one suffering by buying from a Supermarket petrol station is the customer. The major players get their cut of your money whatever.

Coming down? How do you work that one out?
Crude oil costs up to four times as much as it did a few years ago.

As long as the government takes 65% of all pump prices in tax , they are not complaining ,, but we are and with pump prices going up sometimes 2 - 3 p per litre ( thats 8 - 12 p per gallon !!!) per DAY they are coining it in ..

remember how much we used to complain at rises of 8 - 12 p per gallon even in the budget ?? Now, no-one bats an eye at rises like this .........

I think that the time is right for (shhhhhh) ... Revolution .........

I change my oil filter, oil and fuel filter every 3 months at a cost of about 14/15 quid (4,000 milesish). Also check my tyres every 3 weeks or so. Running on a slow puncture or low tyres costs a lot in MPG. After a fuel & oil filter change I notice about an increase of 3 or so mpg, but my car averages about 30 at the best of times anyway :'(
