I was under the impression that a lot of the supermarkets were supplied by independent oil refinerys based around the Thames... ??
Most of the major oil refineries that are in the UK are run by Shell, ESSO & BP (my brother work(ed) for ESSO). Most of the minor oil refineries are supplied by the major oil refineries (there are also a few other major brand names that most UK people are blissfully unaware of (the UK is small fish on a global scale) and wouldn't generally recognise).
As is widely known, Supermarkets use petrols from exactly the same refineries that supply the branded petrol stations, but a lot of the time minus any cleaning additives. So in essence, the only one suffering by buying from a Supermarket petrol station is the customer. The major players get their cut of your money whatever.
Whether they do or nothing is not the fecking point - it's the fact that prices have now risen to £1.07 - £1.09 for unleaded and £1.09 - £1.11 for diesel.
How come they are allowed to get away with it?!!?!!
Isn't the cost of petrol coming down?!!?
Coming down? How do you work that one out?
Crude oil costs up to four times as much as it did a few years ago.
