| Which Bible verse is a lie? Posted: 2/8/2008 7:37:22 PM | Man has their opinion and has the right to make that conscious choice towards their own reasoning regarding God's word, that's exactly it. He wants you to question his word, so you will find understanding and his will concerning your own life. His word may appear literal, yet when he states to have a child like faith, does that simply mean that we should lay hold of his true blessings for what he writes, without seconding guessing, or taking it by the bull horn approach. However in his word in the new testament, please correct me if I'm wrong.."Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and it shall be added unto you. God seeks a willing and a pure vessel, in order for ones prayers to be answered, God has timing and its perfect. Ecclesiastes 3 describes about time.
He is wanting you to change your own mindset of that a pure righteous man, see the difference between being of this world and not of this world, it does sound airy fairey, but that is why our questions and decision making will always have that opposing conflict with God's word. We only know of what has been atuned into society.
You will find peace of mind and heart that your prayers will be answered in Gods timing not in your time. Take it from a woman who has constantly sought his word through much toil and heartache through devling more into the word. Now I understand why it was of his own time not of my own....

| Which Bible verse is a lie? Posted: 2/8/2008 8:40:12 PM | Had no idea this thread was still alive, was surprsied tonight to see it was . Funny how I have missed so many responses , guess I have to bribe my kids to let me on my computer more often.
Am also surprsied at the many very intelligent answers to my questions that have been forthcoming , from " both sides of the fence ". Originally, when I posted this thread, I felt guilty afterwards, hard to explain. Kind if hoped it had died off. Then tonight I ran across across it and was very surprised at the intelligent comments made by so many on it . So in a way, I can claim that my prayers were answered, to find answers to my question, doubts if you will.
So right now, after reading all these posts , which Bible verse do I think is a lie? None of them. My interpratation of them at times has been a lie, what has been preached about them to me at times has been a lie, but after reflecting on it, cant find any that have been a lie.
Yet at other times in life, have thought they all were lies. So yes, nevercaneezer is quite right. Which is a lie? "Any you wish to be" is true. Lisa from Texas said earlier, that like Hebrews told us , " Faith is made up of things unseen" , so with faith, none are lies.
So guess it all comes down to belief , like a previous poster said. Thanks for all the responses , they were great to read. From my good freind Wantedtheone , the Pagan guy ( sorry, I cant remember names very well) , skypoet, allitcanbe, I have been very impressed with the response here. Will have a lot to think about , that is for sure !
Thanks. | |

| Which Bible verse is a lie? Posted: 2/9/2008 12:02:44 AM | Two Hawks takes the Talking Stick:
I don't know which verse in the Bible is a lie, but the Christians tell a whopper about how many Gods there are. They claim there is but one god. However it very clearly states in the Bible that there is more than one. "And God said let us ("us" - plural - more than one) create man in our ("our" - plural - more than one) image". Now if there was really only one God....that passage shoud read: "And God said....I will create man in my image". The the words "us" and "our" are used, thereby clearly stating there is more than one God.

| Which Bible verse is a lie? Posted: 2/9/2008 7:56:40 PM | Well this isn't so much a lie as it is a changing of mind on the subject from the earliest days of the religion to the more later periods.
The earliest days of Hebrew faith were henotheistic. The religion then became very monotheistic. Then the Christian faith that emerged from it and other influences, while claiming to be monotheistic (and its believers still will) have elements of polytheism that they decry in other world faiths, while not realizing that such faiths like Hinduism accept such notions as multiple facets of deity co-existing in one deity but are essentially as monotheistic in that regard as they are.
The Biblical passage in question denotes the use of the "pluralis majestis" or "royal we".

| Which Bible verse is a lie? Posted: 2/10/2008 5:43:25 AM | Did any one here mention that we live in a world of pain and suffering and that this world is meant to be that way. This is a place where we manifest what is negative in us, so that we can see its repercussions. Only a child does not understand tit for tat. A child does not understand the repercussions of there deeds if negative or positive. We learn as children what is right and what is wrong when we see a smile or a sad face. We learn how to live. Your here, Christ never mentioned one think about what heaven was like or the kind of experiences you have in heaven. He constantly reminded us of HOW TO LIVE HERE. Period. What he said was basically to USE G-d to better your life. The lord is my shepherd, On earth as it is in Heaven. Imagine trying to bring heaven to earth. Is that not what we are really doing. But in this world, its the world of deceptions, lies, all of it, from the politics to the religions. And we the masses are the ones doing this. We are here to manifest our desires to clean house in our souls. To bring heaven to earth you must be Christlike. Not worship the messenger but the message.
So what verse is a lie, well that depends on where you are at in the passion play. Did anyone consider that you are doing exactly what you should be doing, you are experiencing exactly what you NEED to experience. When you die you do not take your wallet with you.
I pray for wisdom, I ask G-d for nothing, except to know and understand the Father with knowledge of the father, faith is the first step, you got to go further into it. You got to connect. At times we get epiphanies, sightings on the inner. We know the truth when we hear it. The truth has not doubt. But the process is not instant. At times we need trauma to open our eyes.
I will be bold to say that the Father the one G_D creator of all did not create this realm for fun. G-d created for experiences. And with that places a deity called, you know who, as the deceiver. What is more deceiving than the fact that religious beliefs or dogma allows us to believe that we are born and soul is created from birth. That, that soul must now accept G-d with trials and tribulations and some outright horrors. That you have got to make a decision to accept G-d or perish in hell. Yet, we are given freewill, I don't remember anyone asking me if I want to be born here. The biggest misconception is the idea that a priest or cleric or minister or pastor has the ability to save you and that what they interpit from the bible is the way. G-d does not need help. You are here because G-d allows you to be here, its that simple, G-d is so compassionate that he allows us to experience the opposite of him. We do this in order to understand this worlds opposite reality. G-d. But we got lost.
We live in a world where animals consume other animals, where brute force rules. Mankind must learn how to kill, ever notice that, we create armies to learn how to kill. We elect politicians who put themselves on the auction block for power and authority. We allow children to starve for our own greed. And then we go to church for forgiveness. Christ said we cannot feed the poor. That says is all. this is hell, not the fire and brimstone hell but real hell. For some reason some people seem to think it isn't. G-d Does not want us here, so which bible verse is a lie, well that would depend on you and where you are at spiritually and how aware you are of G-d. Without the spirit (holy ghost) and a connection thru prayer with G-d we are lost. When you die you leave hell for paradise. Except we seem to wish to come back to clear up a few details.
