Curvy is the new way of Big women trying to make themselves feel better. As far as I'm concerned and I agree with Rock 'N Roll Curvy is voluptous someone like Mariah Carey or Beyonce and thats super HOT but its not FAT.

And straykatt you're not even worth replying to dude. At 49 you're on a dating site with your shirt off. If your daughters friends saw this lets just say she'll have a hard semester. Some class would be good. And no disrespect.

Sunny - I'm 46, you're not even a good accountant! I highly doubt my daughters friends are searching this site for 46 year old men. And you wouldn't know class if it had you by the throat.

I would rather see a lady with 20 extra pounds naked than a lady who could use 20 pounds. A) the rib cage sticks out and is not attrative at all, and B) I usually have bigger breasts than they do. Even less attractive. And I don't have big boobs.

People just need to accept that their preferences may not meet with the approval of others - So What! Who Cares?

I agree that people will like what they like, and it doesn't matter if someone doesn't like you, it's just the nature of dating. There's someone for everyone, so to speak...and someone else will. We should all try to focus more on those who are into us and less on those who don't.

I also agree that everyone has a totally different idea of what thin, athletic, curvy, and overweight are. That's what makes the world go round, we're all different.

I don't agree with being less than tactful or purposely insulting those you don't find attractive or want to date - regardless of body size, I mean, what's the point of that?

ugly I agree with almost everything you said with the exception of focussing on those who are into us. Now maybe you meant if we are into them as well, but I can't focus on somebody who is into me, if I am not into them.

I didn't mention that because I assumed most would know that was a given it should be mutual and work both ways.

Sunny, this is not about me, my profile (which, by the way, is NONE of your business), or my feelings. This is about YOU saying two completely contradictory things and not being man enough to admit and accept it. I will NOT allow anyone to call my character into question when I've done nothing wrong--you don't like somebody calling you out on your own statements, boldly in print on this very thread, that's one thing, but lashing out at the person who did it (while completely avoiding the real issue at hand, might I add) just makes you look weak and scared. Deal with your own feelings before talking about anyone else's.

Umm I think even an Idiot would understand that when I said " Any woman less than 200 pounds is just gross" it was sarcasm.

I've been with girls more flat chested then myself, which had no rear to speak of, and I've dated women jealous of my weight, but had it goign on, and a 20-22" waist depending ont he time of the month.

I like a curvy woman, they do it for me. There is a problem with this and people's train of thought. People think good about what they read, (unless its obviously bad.) IMHO measurements can make curvy, but i'm not into "big" women. Sorry 5'4" and 180 pounds isn't my idea of curvy. I like women to look like women. Thread topic needs another add on because it chategorizes so many peoples thoughts that don't belong or is poorly worded. There are some women, who do wiegh strange amounts and have that little waste, but hoenstly anyting more then 2 hadnfuls up top or in the back is way too much for me.

Slim women yes you can look hot to me, but the curvy women seems to make me feel better all around.

I've dated from "Bean Poles" to "claimed big-boned" and I must say there's more reasons to attraction then simply sexual pruposes. THe curvy women tend to be better friends and lovers to me.

I personally prefer the curvy type - Those who read my usual ramblings know that my physical "hot buttons" are eyes, lips and legs. Give me a thick girl with a pretty face, who can rock a short skirt and can carry on an intelligent conversation and Evil E is on!

I had a friend a few years ago who fit that bill perfectly. She was the same height as me but when she told me she weighed 205 I was shocked to say the least. This woman was a curvy, kind of Zena the Warrior Princess type. So weight is just a number to my big behind..... within reason of course!

My personal preference is sorta between the two

I prefer meat on a girl's bones, but again, there are limits. I like my women more on the athletic side and if they are 150 lbs, so be it. There are women who are very sexy who aren't 110 pounds, but then again, there are some women who are 110 pounds and I don't find them sexy at all. Again, there has to be a median point. My last g/f was just right, about 5'8, 135-140 lbs and it was all in the right places.

Every woman is different, so there could be others that I would find attractive. It is hard to actually say because I look much more beyond just looks. I would rather date someone who could be considered plain and average IF she has an excellent personality than someone who is hot with no personality. There is more to a mate than just looks and remember, over time, looks fade, so what do you have after that? Think about that one!!

BTW, OP, nothing wrong with you at all, you are the type I would date.

curvy and fat

http://shinymedia.headshift.com/images/photos/uncategorized/retroswim2.jpg

IMO these women aren't fat. Maybe they are slightly overweight, but they are still good looking.

Those women are overweight, but could still fit the description of 'curvy'. Note the difference between upper torso, waistline, and hips. The problem rises when people who are 'round' feel they also are 'curvy'. I guess round has a curve in it, but it really stretches the description, much the same as a guy who weighs 500 lbs with a huge belly that plays golf can call himself athletic because sumo wrestlers are considered athletes and golf is considered a sport. Yet, no one in their right mind would describe a typical sumo wrestler's build as 'athletic'.
But in the end, there is someone for everyone. There are just far less of them as you get further away from a normal figure. Note, I didn't say 'average' figure. Because in america, obese is now the average, and that isn't 'normal'. So, yes, if you are on POF, and are obese, you can now say that you are average. Much to the chagrin of the rest of the normal folks, who now have no way to describe themselves or appear in a correct search. Makes doing a search meaningless at this point.

I'm a 10/12. Certainly not skinny but not a BBW either I don't think. I've never had any shortage of men so I tend to be of the mind that men like a curvier gal.

Personally I never know which box to check. Some would consider me one or the other. If I say slim they think I need to eat a sandwich. If I say curvy they think its code for fat. whats that deal?

I only like thin girls and I do not care about breast size, ass size, etc. I would not date someone who is overweight. I watch my own weight quite carefully, and only eat two meals per day and never snack in between meals. I expect the other person in the relationship to be equally strict about food.

Personally i am a bigger woman i don't know what i would call myself imo im not curvy but im not a BBW either. Im somewhere in the middle i guess, but i do try to keep in shape i walk everywhere. In the end for every guy out there who thinks that anyone above 2oo is disgusting theirs a guy out there who thinks its beautiful. Attitude and confidence is key, a woman with both is incredibly sexy.

Btw i think Queen latifah is a very good example of bbw

I don't have any problem attracting guys in "real life" but I think online they suspect that I'm obese or something when I say I'm curvy and voluptuous, although proportionate. Because it's the truth, and it's what guys have said to me.

A natural night owl with insomnia and I read the whole thing in one sitting! Haha, I'm going to have to go stretch now.

Wait! So fat people are claiming curvy and truly curvy girls can't use it anymore because...why exactly? Let's be real. You know what you are. You know what you look like and so does everyone else. Yes, descriptions and pictures can be misleading on line which is just silly if you really want to meet someone but that's a whole 'nother topic.

Fat people can't be curvy too? Going with the hour glass figure, hip to waist to chest ratio.. is the general assumption that round, fat and curvy can't all exist to define the same person? Because I just don't find that to be apt when I look in the mirror. From the side, round. From the front or back, hour glass curvy. In general, fat. Fat meaning medically obese. As much as I hate the term, I selected BBW because that is what most of society would consider my label to be.

Sure, I could say why. Genetics, bone structure, etc. Doesn't really matter why. When I walk down the street I'm still fat. Some will lick their lips, some will cringe and most won't even notice. *shrug* When my waif of a friend is walking with me, well, she has the same response. When my average friend is walking with me.. and so it goes.

Bottom line is that very, very few people are absolutely satisfied with their body. I can honestly say that I don't know of one person that wouldn't change something if they could with a magic wand.

Like what you like. Love who you love. If you are lucky, what you like and love will match. Sometimes, what you like can become what you love and vice versa. Appearance may get you in the door but it won't keep you there.

As far as my preference, I'm going to have to go with "all of the above". I just love men. Short, tall, thin, fat, young, old, bald, not bald. LOL, it's the man that will keep my attention. The shell is just that.

No reason to get so upset. It is true, a lot of fat women excuse themselves being curvy when they are just totally fat and you dont see any curves what so ever!!!! More like a big piece of pork instead of being curvy! I am sure a lot of men like that but I am also sure a lot of men dont so dont bark at men that dont. Freedom of speech. Thank you.

I don't bark - I Bite! I also scratch, maim, rend, and occassionally eviscerate but I save my wrath for those who excuse their incivility with specious rationale. I make no excuse for the fact that I gleefully excoriate anyone who is intentionally rude and hurtful - berating, belittling, and lambasting them is sport to me.
Freedom of speech is not free - if one is going to deride others they should expect derision in return. I care not for the opinions of others so they do not sway me in my course - those who skulk off after going head to head with me may well learn something. If the words posted in this forum have the ability to diminish their feelings of self-worth, be hurtful, or embarrass they have the ability to do likewise to others and should therefore be posted judiciously and with careful forethought.
Everyone has an absolute right to their opinions but professing those opinions in a way which is intentionally hurtful to innocent parties is unwarranted.

I think it really doesn't matter. I've dated rail thin women, and also curvy women, and I've dated slim women who have become curvy women :-).

Either is great. We all need to disregard what the media tells us is acceptable, and just be with people we like and who make us happy. When your looks hit the wall, personality will be the test of time LMAO
