| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/28/2008 8:18:14 PM | | There are attractive women from several different body types. Slim, curvy, athletic, average, slightly vverweight etc. The only body types that I'm not attracted to are obese, bony /anorexic, and women who are hard core body builders. | |
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/28/2008 8:52:44 PM | | I've been super skinny and now 20 years later, I am fat. I'm much happier fat. If a guy is interested in me, then he is interested in ME and not what I look like. If I lost weight, I would be happy about it, but am I going to do it because a man wants me to, or I could probably get more dates??? Heck no! If a guy is that superficial, then I sure don't want him. | |
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/28/2008 9:00:25 PM | Think "Designing Women" and an early Delta Burke..............and it's all good.
Any early Roseanne Barr is a no.
And this, is all personal preference.
And no, I'm not missing out! I've tried all shapes and sizes and know what works best for me.
And, regardless of shape or size....................a nasty personality is ALWAYS a deal-breaker!
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/28/2008 9:37:04 PM | | hmmm. think about this, when someone wants to portray a sexy female in a cartoon, do they look like olive oil or jessica rabbit? I am so happy to be a jessica rabbit even if some men think sunken skin over bones are sexy. | |

| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/28/2008 11:19:07 PM | To me, Calista Flockhart has a pretty face and that's it! The anorexic look is NOT appealing to me.
To me, that's about as sexy as hugging a wood pile.
Personally, I'm more interested in someone that is something in the middle.
A woman with "curves" is so frequently associated with full-figured women, or bigger.
So.....................how about..........................Shapely??????

Just because a man might prefer slim, athletic, and / or average sized women over fat women, that doesn't necessary make him shallow or superficial. There is more to a relationship than just looks. But physical attraction is a part of the package. Would you date someone that you think is physically unattractive? Probably not. BTW the men that are interested in you might feel that way partly because they are generally attracted to fat women. So physical attraction does matter to some degree.

| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/29/2008 9:25:15 AM | Hey guys I have a variety of friends of all shapes and sizes, and ,as you guys know, most moan lots about there bodies. People say guys love curves but do they really? In a society where slim is favoured in the media how do you all feel about the female shape? I personally think slim is good(think keira knigthly) and also the curvy Marayln Monroe shape too....
Actually, Marilyn was a little too large and Keira is a bit too thin. I think it comes down to one's definition of Curvy or Slim.

| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/29/2008 9:36:33 AM | re: InstantKarma620
OP: I think more important than curves or slim is firmness. A woman who has a nice toned boby
yeah I hear guys really love nice toned firm "boby's"
gotta love those freudian slip typos... lmfaoo

| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/29/2008 9:43:57 AM | | Meh, whatever floats your boat. It's a good thing everyone doesn't have or want the same thing. How boring would that be? Just be happy with what your mama gave you and make it work for you. If you're not perfect in someone else's eyes, find someone that does find you perfect. | |
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/29/2008 10:18:53 AM | Sepia--sometimes the tongue and fingers are 4 steps ahead of the mind. Of course, he looked at your pic, and it became seven steps...but who's counting?
Happy, happy, joy, joy, to every bit of sexy, that is sexy.
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/29/2008 11:43:22 AM | I think it's really sad that meeting a mate has come to this....
You have to pick from 5 or so categories and that's supposed to give everyone an idea of your body type!!
NOT It's why I chose Prefer Not to Say (that's only because, great breasts, sexy feet, and piercing blue/green eyes, wasn't up there) haa
Seriously, I want someone to want me for my personality, my sense of humour, my caring nature, my love for human beings, that's what makes me who I am.
I am healthy and happy, and that should matter more than anyone's dress size or a one word choice for your body type.
The body will fade and disappear, feel sexy with what you have, and that's what you will exude.
Some men, will never want someone of my beauty, because I don't have a six pack, buns of steal, and 10% body fat. To each their own.
I will wait for a real man who sees me for me, and adores it all!
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 9/29/2008 1:11:00 PM | It really all has to do with personal preference....personally for me, I like my women petite, athletic, slim/slender. Curves are fine if they are in the right place!
I think for some men, it comes down to what turns them on, personally a larger woman or someone out of shape does nothing for me sexually. If I was looking for a sexless relationship, maybe I'd change my preferences but no thanks. ...I want my lady TURN ME ON! It's really that simple - for me anyway.
I also have a "rule" - her ass can't be bigger than mine :P
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 9:29:23 AM | Gotta say curves-women that are too obsessed with themselves that they are twigs just aren't for me. "Healthy", well that's all relative-moderation is in the mouth of the beholder (!) | |
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 10:05:23 AM | | If they block out the sun they're too big if they disappear when sideways to thin. | |
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 10:57:00 AM | | Well I enjoy both curvy and slim. If I can't be atrracted to the person when we chat then it ain't going to matter either way. Though I will say I prefer a girl look healthy. | |
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 12:58:58 PM | | Men love confidence....not your size.....and God whatever you do...if he didn't notice your flaws and celulite....don't point it out to him!! | |
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 1:27:27 PM | I really get upset when women who should list themselves as BBW or whatever its called, label themselves as Curvy. Men now see the word curvy and runnnnnn
so sad! | |
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 1:39:48 PM | Do NOT trust the media. It is bound to make you an automated around the clock machine. Shape up your own diversified entertainment and sources of information!
When it comes to what we are shown regarding leisure and entertainment, the fashion industry pushes this extremely thin female shape, yes. A field practically monopolized by male homosexuals. Designers, photographers, editors, stylists, consistently implying beauty on an androginous female shape, depleted of its more natural form and therefore perhaps nor a threat?
I wouldn't venture on the psychological implications of gay males screaming beauty at walking toothpicks (though I could make my own guess) but I can tell you girl, don't let yourself be fooled. Keira Kenightley does need to hop some fried chicken down her throat.
|
| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 1:45:54 PM | girldc: So, use the word "shaply" instead!
Or, bust out the thesaurus and use some other word!
It's what makes English such a rich language!
We can say the same thing in so many different ways.
Personally, I see some women that are too frugal with their body type, while others are simply dreaming!
Myself, I'd rather err on the side of caution. That way, someone doesn't get their hopes up and become disappointed when we meet. If they feel that my body type is smaller than what I've listed, then it's a pleasant surprise!

| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 3:44:03 PM |
Men now see the word curvy and runnnnnnnn[/quote} Yes, yes they do... most run TO us & NOT away from us! Even though a lot of men may post they like thinner ladies, more men like a woman with soft curves, AKA the hour-glass figure. I had more hang ups when I was younger and thinner. As I became older, I learned acceptance, and now I rejoice in how I am and who I am

| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 4:15:37 PM | The whole debate about the terms used to describe the size and shape of our bodies drives me nuts. I have “A few extra pounds” chosen. I know that is not right for me. I have more than a “few extra pounds”, but I sure as heck don’t like the BBW option, which is the only other option above that. I think the term is degrading. As though I need a term to boost my self confidence.
Not only that, I don’t think of myself to be that large. I wear a size 16 most of the time, 2 sizes above average and I can buy my clothes in any store. I don’t have to go to a “plus size” store. I would put my weight up, but I lift weights 5 days and can bench about 120 lbs, in addition to about 90 minutes of cardio, so that would be misleading as well (I am an endomorph, what can I say?). I chose option C. I put up full-length pictures of myself and left it at that.

As I became older, I learned acceptance, and now I rejoice in how I am and who I am
lori: That's hot!!!!!!!
If a woman cannot accept herself, as she is???
How can she expect me to accept her as she is???
I have done almost everything wrong with my profile, intentionally! -no pic -sexual username -Big and Tall body type selected -if you look, notice profession and city! -interests and "about me" sections reek of FWB, or "intimate encounter", etc.
But, like I said, it's purely intentional......even though I'm looking for "dating" that could lead to a LTR.
I'm not interested in those whom are hung up on pics. I'm interested in a woman that is "genuinely" interested in a guy's personality and WHOM he is, not WHAT he is.
It is my belief, that if a woman can fall in love with WHOM a guy is? Then acceptance of WHAT he is becomes a non-issue.
So, I guess that, in essence, my profile is a "prove to me that not all WOMEN are the same"!
I know that us guys have seen a fair share of female profiles that say that phrase, applied towards us!
Surprisingly, I DO get lookers and some messagers! Just not as much as my "cutesy" profile received.

| Curvy Vs Slim Posted: 10/1/2008 7:47:04 PM | Thanks Squirt! I guess everyone has hang ups once in awhile. I guess I just got tired of beating myself up so much and one day said, "OK , I'm not young anymore & I've had 4 kids...I guess I'm OK" and left it at that and it's good enough for me BTW: I checked your profile....nice profession | |
