I love dogs as well, and have owned three...but they all left. They were outnumbered by the cats.
The cats saw the dog as a minor inconvenience; the dogs...well....they couldn't take it. | |

Posted: 6/1/2005 12:03:34 AM | Actually Taurus...it's not so much the Chinese that like dogs... it's the Vietnamese... they also like cats... they actually had a resteraunt menu item loosly translated as "Little Tiger".. they ate so many cats the country soon had a rat problem... and the government had to step in. Then there are the Civet Cats ...remember SARS?

It helps me to relax when I get home from work, or no one at home so I know there someone there that keeps me company as well. | |

When the time comes and I have time for a pet.............the perfect pet for me would be a Brittney Spanial.

Black Labs are tops pooches. Great around kids, the dogs have soft mouths for handling ducks.
Nothing like a happy Lab with a piece of driftwood in the mouth swimming back to shore proud. | |

But why do people HAVE pets, if not to have something to spend time with and to concentrate their attention on some times? I love the way that my dog jumps up on the couch or bed next to me for attention. The only time the cat comes around is when she wants to piss off the dog. Prefer dogs, but won't get another one when Kody passes on. | |

Posted: 5/29/2006 1:19:30 AM | I like cats and dogs! They express affection in different ways, but are equally affectionate. Dogs do better physically and seem mentally healthier when they have more interaction with their humans. But cats also want interaction. Very different personalities and requirements.
The dogs in my life in the past 10 years came to me because they needed someone to care for them (they were abandoned in my care by their previous owners, often in poor condition... how someone can simply abandon a pet is completely beyond me). The cats in my life in the past 20 years associated their lives with me because I needed someone to love and care for and they deemed me worthy!
No time spent with a pet in your lap is ever wasted! | |
