| Cat or Dog person Posted: 5/29/2007 3:57:07 AM | | We have 10 cats & 1 doberman so I would think we're cat people. | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/7/2009 4:29:54 PM | | I like both dogs and cats and animals in general. | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/7/2009 9:01:32 PM | | I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. I couldn't choose between them. Each fits in their own way. The most recent addition, a 9 month old lab/hound/vizsla mix, has helped heal the wounds left by an ex-boyfriend. By focusing on her training, I was able to let go of the pain. | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/7/2009 9:20:30 PM | | Did I answer this thread already? I forget. But I'm a cat person. was born into a house with them, and will always have one. Not to say I don't want a dog one day because i do. I lov them too. I used to think i wanted a boxer until spending time recently with my uncle's and being covered in slimy spitty drool constantly. And take cover when the dog shakes his head. | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/7/2009 10:23:56 PM | | Cats, dogs, horses, rodents(hamsters, rats, mice, etc), if it is furry and 4-legged(had 'em all), I like 'em. Right now cats suit my lifestyle best(erratic schedule, smaller income than I would like), so cats it is. If I can get to a place in my life again to expand my animal menagerie, I would. Different animals speak to different parts of a human soul. I think if you love animals you will find the right fit. | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/7/2009 11:27:40 PM | Definetely cats......they are intelligent animals known for being loners so you have to earn their love and attention.
Dogs on the other hand will wag their tail at anyone with food or a stick. The thought of taking a dog for a walk and picking up its crap doesn't appeal to me either.....if aliens saw this they would assume the human race were slaves to the K9 population!

if aliens saw this they would assume the human race were slaves to the K9 population you stole this from Seinfeld....
I love both dogs and cats; they each have their own special qualities.

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/8/2009 7:35:48 AM | | I am more of a dog person, but I love cats, too. My male cat would sit in my lap all day if I let him. My female cat follows me around the house like a dog, LOL. My dog is a hyper pit-beagle-weimeranier mix that makes me laugh all the time. All she wants to do is play. Or sleep. People on the street stop me to tell me how beautiful and well-trained she is. The Dog Whisperer is a genuis! | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/8/2009 12:44:25 PM | I'm a bit of both. I like large dogs, good for protection.
I don't want a dog licking my face though after, well we know where their noses go--another dog's poop, hind end, etc.
Dogs are more work though.
My 2 cats are good exterminators of bugs, mice, etc. They are still loving and affectionate, more faithful, loyal than any man I know.
I have a tabby, tortie and a pit bull mix. True they want to ban the breed, but people will move on to another breed. I am seeing more Cane Corsos(Italian Mastiffs) look like pit bulls but bigger. They are used for guarding.

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/8/2009 8:41:09 PM | I have a dog and cats, but have to say I'm more of a cat person if I have to choose. Of course I love my dog, but when comparing the two, I have to say that cats rule and dogs—quite literally—drool.
First of all, cats are about a thousand times easier to care for. You don't have to walk them or bathe them because they're smart enough to figure out all that stuff on their own (unlike some other domestic mammals I don't care to mention). Plus, they have the common courtesy to do their business in the litter box, instead of all over your yard. I like that my cats don't give me unwavering attention. My cats don't make noise and their breath doesn't stink.
Not to mention, cats are so much more independent than dogs. They can disappear for hours, having their own little adventures, and then pop up again just when you least expect it. Meanwhile, when my dog isn't sleeping, she follows me everywhere, getting under foot whilst constantly begging for food - and that routine does get old after a while! I do love taking her for long interesting walks, but lately she has been getting into arguments with other dogs. Notwithstanding that she is elderly and has no teeth, it has become somewhat of an embarrassment when she lunges at other polite, unsuspecting dogs. My cats are just too easygoing to sweat that $hit........
Namaste....... | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/8/2009 9:24:11 PM | | For me , cat person for sure. I prefer cats. It's not that I dislike dogs, per se, at least small cute ones. But I was born badly allergic to dogs (though really not to cats for some reason), so I've never had one and I'm therefore just not used to being around them and so on. But like I said I do like some of them (mostly the smaller cuter kind; I'll be honest I am not a fan of large dogs coming near me). Just my opinion.. | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/9/2009 10:05:28 AM | While I prefer cats, and have one, I don't mind some dogs. By the way, I may think I own my cat, but she KNOWS she owns me, lol!! | |

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/9/2009 6:18:10 PM | Donkey. I am more of a donkey person. I am currently befriending a donkey who lives down the road from me and he appears to like dog food too .
Seriously, I love all animals but cats seem to be my preference. I can't remember a time that I didn't have one.

| Cat or Dog person Posted: 11/9/2009 7:56:49 PM | I prefer the independence of a cat than the neediness of a dog, plus it wears on the nerves that a dog howls in protest when it needs to be tied up..eckk.. so there's the obligation of training. Overall dogs need too much attention and are prone to be noisy and dirty/smelly. Cats are less demanding, except males get into fights and females breed litters if not desexed. And indoors they jump counters and claw the furniture. But sometimes we like a bit o companionable doggie love, they don't go MIA like cats do.
I still like dogs but I prefer the smaller (but not yappy) breeds for convenience. I've always liked pugs though never owned one but since seeing a doco on how extreme dog breeding has led to a multitude of heath issues and misshapen anatomy in purebreds -- the pug is very different to it's ancestor -- it's indeed paws for thought..pun intended.
