| When you die, where would you like to be buried? Or does it matter? Posted: 5/16/2008 10:58:24 PM | I wish to be freeze-dried, sealed in an airtight aluminized mylar pouch, sealed inside a watertight and airtight, nitrogen-filled stainless steel cannister (or coffin, if you prefer), stored in a concrete-filled, granite-covered tomb where I can get some peace and quiet for the next 10,000 years. Oh yes, place the latest copies of Newsweek, National Geographic, People and Playboy magazines in the coffin with me- not for me to read, I'll be dead, but to jack with the archaeologists when they dig me up... | |

I'd have to, so I wouldn't have to ":start again" when I come back. Sure...it would PO a few people...but just think...the insurance company would have to pay up anyhows and then I could have fun laughing at them!

I think the way to go would be the way Edward Abbey went. His friends took his body out into the desert and buried him under a cactus. As the years went by, the cactus grew off of the nutrients recovered from his body. But due to his fame, the friends never told anyone where the body was buried.

Other than they don't trust religion? If medical science cannot repair my hopefully not totally dead frozen body in the future then I really don't care what happens to it.

Never know...the body may well become property of the state...to be harvested for organs, food suppliments, fertilizer, the gold teeth...who knows? Sounds far-fetched? It may well be closer than you think...some places have already initiated the organ donations...unless you sign a card stating you do NOT want them donated. Others say sign a card that says you do. Lives mean little to governments...never forget that....and soon, bodies won't either.

And then, viking funeral pyre. I don't claim any religious affiliations to vikings and their beliefs, I just like it. Getting planted,,,, too slow for me. Give me a tombstone if you have to, I leave that to my family.
Of course, wait a week before you roast me. Never know what stunt I might pull beyond the grave.

I'd like ot be cremated, and then my ashes poured into the ground at The College of William and Mary (my alma mater) and then a tree planted on my ashes. That way my life can help give the tree life. And the students can pretend that I"m haunting them. :) Of course I figure they'll only let this happen if I donate a big bunch of $$ to them. LOL So I'd better hurry up and find a way to get rich.
Of course that's after the organ donation.
And my soul of course will have joined with all the spirits of the earth...so my soul will still live on in the flowers, trees, rocks, etc.

As far as who shows up to the funeral...again...who cares! Not like I will be able to tell who's there ....again...I'll be dead!
