My only issue is since this is supposed to be a MAN STORE what type is it like
is it like K-Mart where they have blue-light specials???

maybe its like Wal-Mart where your necessities are put on the outside square and impule buying happens in the center. Does it honor competition coupons? And if the consumer wants to bring it back because it does not work properly, do they need a receipt or do they just give him a shopping card for in-store purchases only?

or maybe it's like Neiman Marcus or Macy's where you really can't afford to shop there so you just window shop until the urge is so high you charge it to your credit card only to find out that they had the same one at Foley's and in fact it was cheaper because of the Red Apple Sale.

What about those who shop by HSN on TV or better yet JC Penney's Catalog order?

All of the above. It's the Cheap and stingy store, The cute and sexy store, the Loud and free farts store, it's the diamonds and sailboat store. You get in the elevator press a button, and guess what, it takes you whether ever the elevator wants!!!!

So let's say you're a rock & roll star, you take your victoria's secret catalog to the bathroom, go through the pages and go, Ahh Hidie Klum. You call her, Oh, you going out with Seal, cool, now Hidie, what's the name of that chic from Argentina? Cool.

If you're the average joe, you call, say you want the most delectable, yummy chic you can get, the operator then ask you, "would you like that super sized?"

Hmmmm ... based on the original comment about how women shop, I'm not sure that men do have an accurate idea of the shopping habits of the fair gender. Or, perhaps I'm just an atypical shopper. I have been known to make impulse purchases for products with a short lifespan (clothes, disposables, groceries). However, for substantial purchases with life-changing ramifications (home, car, major appliance), I do the research and settle on a set of "must-have" criteria. Often, once the research is done, I find the perfect item in a single shopping trip. And, when I do ... ALL FURTHER BROWSING CEASES IMMEDIATELY. I will pay for the item, and walk away confident that I got exactly what I wanted. Same with men.

Come on! Tell me you aren't checking out the chassis, the engine, the paint job and if there's any bondo or dents or dings!

And unfortunately many men (as you are the more visual gender) will not accept a model that has a few dings and dents that have been acquired over a lifetime of service. Too many man only want the newer show room models and don't pay attention to the fact that the Classic Models still have an engine that is running pretty strong and the tranny doesn't slip yet but the chassis isn't perfect.

So please don't label us as "just browsing" in a husband store! I don't even like shopping anymore. It's like it's become some kind of warped sport. So I guess I don't fall into the "shopping" example either because I tend now to be more "male" in my shopping habits as your described them. I know what I want, I head for that when I get to the store, if there are one or two products but different brands, I may read the labels but having done my research am usually able to purchase without a lot of dithering about.

Nice try but you may want to rethink your theory! Merry Christmas!

LMAO!!! Yeah we don't come with an exended warranty nor with a money back guarantee but every now and then if you catch a real bargain it doesn't matter if we have few scratches, dings, or dents. If you are a true collector of antique items those dings, dents, and scratches add value all you need to do is make sure you can repair them or do a little sanding restaining and buffing almost as good as new plus the material they make out of this brand new stuff isn't worth what we pay for anyway...

Something that has been used a little not overly is a little more comfortable...

WALMART SHOPPERS
Posted: 12/17/2007 5:04:16 PM
I think this place is getting to be much like Walmart... they say they beat everyone else's price, give great service, have top quality merchandise...but when you check it out...it is never worth more than the price paid, many of the items fall apart with very little use, and after you go through the check out line and start putting your change away then dig for your keys...just before you get to the door...there's some little old lady wanting to check my receipt to make sure I'm honest and not taking anything I'm not supposed to. I have to load it all up with no help from a bag boy like in the old days... I don't have to give tips...have too many half empty plastic bags and rarely get a well shaped firm one made out of real wood products. If I get a really good bag I have to pay extra for it and its only for a gift for someone else who wants to mount it on the wall.... I only shop there for the convenience and they have paint that I can go get any time of the day or night.

I've approached thousands of women and have encountered
only a very few who had anything less than a friendly reaction,
and even some of those approaches led directly to the happiest
moments of my (and her) life, so I don't see too much to lose.

running any other errand. IMO it's just a sign that the person
doing it is having to resort to hitting on any women they
come across that isn't accompanied by a man. In other words,
desperate

To tell you the truth, I prefer the classics. Being a classic model myself, I can appreciate the smooth graceful, curving lines of the older models. Too many of the newer models are made with too much plastic and artificial fillers and they have no personality at all.

So what if the fender has a minor ding here or there and the frame sags a little. I've been know to massage a fender back into shape with lots of love and care. Engine running a little rough? I grew up on the older models and can tune out a rough idle in just a few minutes.

Give me a classic any day.

Thank God for that. I don't think my ego could take being stuck in the Discount Bin. I'd probably be missing a shoe, have a rip in my shirt and my head would probably turned around backwards! Thanks, but no thanks.

Cute viewpoint on online dating as it pertains to online sales. As you mentioned in your essay, lets extrapolate a little farther.

This is DATING EBAY. The shiner or less dented objects will obviously be bid up a little more (ie. TONS of email). The rest just should consider themselves lucky. They didn't have to pay a posting fee. LOL

Paris Roubaux, Milan San Remo, Bastone, Leage, Bastone.

Ups, got side tracked. For those of you that don't get it. Never mind. Only a cyclist would understand. Hehehe.

Well, I grew up believing that smart people shop at second hand stores. The merchandise is already broken in, and what's not sturdy never makes as far as Sally. My jeans (etc) come with character, I don't have to wash them a dozen times with bleach to *make* them look "lived" in ~~ they come that way. And I like it, lol!

OK, I'm seeing a lot of car analogies slipping in here. I think cars, and possibly houses (maybe bikes -- OutMind) are the exception to the "rule" of men's shopping habits.

LadyGaladriel45 (great name, btw) said:

What are most guys going to do when they get that "Classic Model" home in their garage? That's right. They're going to soup up the engine. Then they'll bang out all the dings and give her a new paint job -- probably candy apple red. Maybe even throw in a new, modern sound system to really make her scream. Are you sure you want to continue with the car analogy? After all, isn't it supposed to be women who want to change a man and men who want a woman who will never change?

From the OPost

.... Now think about how women shop, and extrapolate that to their usage of this site...

About how most women shop, not all (and some men).
Interesting theory, as a theory. Not sure it is a valid one, but food for thought.

But shopping for what: a) fast moving consumer goods (FMCGs) or b) "durables"? Makes a difference in "consumer/shoppers'" behavioral patterns!

Hear me out! This dawned on me this shopping season. Take a breath, sit back, and look around. Do you realize what this site is for women? It is a man STORE! Women here are SHOPPING!

Now think about how women shop, and extrapolate that to their usage of this site...

Women need so many clothes, shoes and accessories for the same reason men need six hammers, a dozen screwdrivers, and God only knows how many wrenches in their tool kits.

Each item is different and has its own use.
