Posted: 3/15/2008 11:35:05 PM | You bring up a very valid point. Unfortunately, it's a stigma. Often a false assumption, but still a stigma. It's kind of like the stigma associated with truck drivers. Many people assume that they are dirty homeless bums, when in reality, most truck drivers might be some of the biggest neat freaks you'll ever meet! The stigma attached to ink and Harleys? Most women are concerned that these "types" are the bad boys who never grew up, cherish their bike more than relationships, etc....
My advice to you; is if you see this becoming a problem, try to take it slower. Get to know someone before you reveal your wild side. I'm sure there's lots of awesome things that you have to offer, other than your bike, right? If I found myself attracted to you and truly enjoying your company, you could be a ballet dancer or a stamp collector, or both, and it wouldn't make a difference to me. Having said that, if you find yourself in a relationship that suddenly fizzles once your hobby has been revealed, then she wasn't worth it anyway. A real relationship will see past just about anything on the surface, and you will be loved for exactly who you are. | |

Maybe it is because most guys with tattoos who ride Harleys look like some typical male ***hole, like a cop, coach or somebody's uptight, pissed off Dad.

It's a person choice plane and simple. I happen to be attracted to all types of men but, not all women are. So by this you mean that everybody should dress the same, look the same and all drive Honda civics?
Also your hair is far too long for a man in todays society. It looks unruly and uncivilized.

I think that the women that are making that judgement call have a few issue's going for them..In order these are the things I would like to clear up...
BIKES
1. you have never had 600+ pounds of steel and power between your legs.
2. freedom scares you
3. to affraid of what the Jones might say at the PTA meetings.
4. safety...News flash.(..it is usually not the bikes you have to worry about. Its the Jones in there damn mini van.)
5. No sense of adventure
Tattoos
1. lack of apprication for the skill and true art of it.
2. no tattoos don't mean your addicted to pain
3. it doesn't mean your in a gang
4. yes when your old they will still be there...how to fix this problem...get something that means something to you...
5. not all of them are not scary and dark
I have 7 tattoo's of my own an appointment for my next 2 tomorrow and working on the sketches for the next piece that goes hip to toe. I have riden Harley's for 13 years.
Sitting on the back of a bike with your arms around a sexy tattooed man with 600+ pounds of power roaring between your legs....If that doesn't get your motor going then stay home and bake cookies...More Harley riding tattooed men for me...  | |

They don't scare me the least bit. Why should they?
It's just that I find Harleys annoying and that I find tattoos disgusting. So why would I even remotely consider hooking up with a man that I know will both annoy and disgust me?
I have been amazed with the amount of beautiful women that think they are above or are scared of men that ride Harley's and have a few tattoo's.
And those women told you they were indeed "scared"?
Methinks that is your interpretation.
Methinks the truth is that those "beautfiful women" (as you put it) can choose from a lot of men flocking around them. And they just pick those that they feel suit them best. Apparently that hasn't been you. Too bad. But that doesn't mean anyone is scared of you. | |

I find tattoos repulsive because I like clean skin that looks the way it's supposed to look. I think tatts make people look dirty. That's just my opinion, though, and 52345234534534 women out there find them hot.
And about motorcycles... Ride them if you want, but I don't want anything to do with them. Not fun at all. | |

thought that the days of the Hells Angels were in the past
Hells Angels are still very much alive. They still hold big rallies and have a large chapter here in British Columbia.
I don't know if women are afraid of tattoo's and Harley as biker types may just not be their type.
Some women really like biker types, some like businessmen, some like athletic types etc.
Different strokes for different folks. | |

i would love to own a harley someday and i already have 8 tattoos.
i'm only 21 but i think the younger generation is more accepting and open to these things. | |
