The short answer is yes. But usually even the "gaydar" impaired can spot these posers.
Most of the "gay-for-play" crowd tend to overdo the flamboyant thing. They are usually not as put together as a real gay guy( appearance, etc.) and they tend to be overly clingy on the women they are with. Further, if you watch carefully, when they get hit on by another guy,(and they almost always do) you can see a moment of abject horror and shock. Most of the time the girls know the score and "gay-for-play" guy is going home alone.

In the "What not to Wear" thread, you allude to the hair of Jan Crouch. I know that over the years, gay men have dressed as Liza, Diana Ross, Madonna, Cher, Tammy Faye, and Carol Channing to name a few. Are there any gay men who actually dress up as Jan Crouch?

Not unlike the "Poodles Gone Wild" video, it is in extremely limited release and catastrophically expensive.

For the record, I don't think you can just allude to the "HAIR" of Jan Crouch
I know that over the years, gay men have dressed as Liza, Diana Ross, Madonna, Cher, Tammy Faye, and Carol Channing to name a few.
While those are some of the greats, lest we forget Ethel(or Ethyl depending on you night) Judy and Liza (with a Z, the Z stands for Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)

Not to my knowledge. You see, Tammy Faye at least had some style, Jan is just BLAH (the line "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha comes to mind.)
Because I was once a hairdresser for about 5 minutes in the '80's, I am morbidly curious about finding out out who actually does her hair.
It is a rancorous combination of a pair of queens, one worked for Vidal in the late 70's and the other was a dresser for "Fredericks of Hollywood"
