Political Debate Angst....

Absolutely there have always been hot button issues that cause some people to revert to a primordial level equal to the poo slinging monkeys at the zoo,

I think comparing poo slinging monkeys at the zoo to politics and people is more of an apples and oranges comparison.

I'm relatively certain that most monkeys sling poo for humor most of the time, sometimes they might just be pissed though.
Where humans sling poo for other reasons like anger and lack of knowledge.

So the intent of the monkey is to get a chuckle for himself and fellows where the intent of the human is to hurt and hinder, much different mentalities.

I understand your position, but I don't think you understand mine. The reference to poo slinging monkeys was a simile. It's meant to reference the inability to communicate and the penchant for reverting to a non communicative means of expression to emphasize ones opposition.
My Grandfather taught me that the use of expletives in conversation was an indication of a limited vocabulary, and violence was an indication that one lacked the intelligence / intellect to convey their message. Reverting to a baser instinct such as "right is might" is not proof that ones position is in any way correct, it merely ends all meaningful discussion. Since inviting someone to step outside isn’t a viable option in this medium, one assumes that perhaps “poo slinging” is the equivalent.

.

I assumed that you were talking about syntatic type as there is a lot of that around here but apparently you are talking about bad language.

Personally I feel its all to often a waste of time, bandwidth and wear and tear on a keyboard to play mr dictionary when one well placed expletive can sum it all up in one word.

My all time fav is "yer all conspiracy kooks". Oh please show us how that is true??? NEver to be seen or heard from again

So in many cases you have a good point, or your gpa did.

Not at all... it's not a reference to grammatical structure, nor of "bad language", it's about the seemingly inability of some to communicate an opposition to any opinion as an adult.

Position noted, not agreed with, but duly noted.

Not following you on this one, but ummmmm ... OK

So in many cases you have a good point, or your gpa did.

Thank you. Your recognition of the necessity of at least some adult communication technique to political discourse is appreciated.

Well from what I have seen most adults when confronted with unsurmountable opposition, such as answering a question what if answered would show (they are wrong), simply acquiesce by leaving the debate battlefield.

There are the more colorful ones who answer a question not asked and claim to have answered or responded to the question, or create their own question and answer that and claim they answered the offending question, and so forth and so on.

Granted its adult I suppose, sort of.

Is that what you are talking about as well?

Let's stick with this one.... actually this is the end of the debate, it's the meat and potatoes that always seem to digress to the more "colorful" exchanges you referenced, but more pointedly to deliberate attempts to derail the debate or changing the topic by slinging poo that I consider to be "angst".
