| WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH COUNTRY MUSIC? Posted: 5/5/2009 12:45:13 AM | I can listen to some country, but, two thumbs down for country music dancing being an art. I like watching people dancing and enjoying their selves out there and watching all h___ break loose when they start letting..... That entices one to join the mayhem. Country, being pretty rigid and defined, looks more like the dancers are avoiding cow manure in a pasture for want of saving their boots. Dancing is an art. Where's the art there? Brooms anyone? Given a choice, I'll push from a clearing. Argument being: If a cow mooo's to it..... | |

| WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH COUNTRY MUSIC? Posted: 5/5/2009 2:50:16 AM | Everyone's taste is just subjective. That's why it's very important to have an understanding and general appreciation for everything out there that exists. We all may find our little niches to dig into and be happy.
I would be one of those people that just can't stand country. The whole attitude doesn't appeal to me. I'm a very liberal person, I grew up listening to progressive rock and heavy metal.
I like my music very complex and sophisticated, not simple and catchy. I like lyrics to read as being mind invoking, and not about day to day life experiences.
So I think just overall with country is that it's just not my culture. When I see people in cowboy hats, boots, and a big belt buckle it just looks like a goofy dated costume to me.
I'm not going to say anything to anyone about it though. If they've found what makes them happy then that's great, and I appreciate that others are different from me. | |

| WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH COUNTRY MUSIC? Posted: 6/12/2009 2:39:39 PM | | Country music (or any kind of music, really) is kinda like a cup of coffee or ordering fried eggs. Everybody has already made up their minds in advance what they want. Unfortunately, many of the people who claim they only like a certain kind of country music mean that they want it to be listener friendly. People like this don't understand genuine country. Hey! Like I said before, if you've got the guts, check out Bluegrass! Grab a bite of Bill Monore, Ralph Stanley or Hazel *ickens. Or maybe you're just too scared! | |

| WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH COUNTRY MUSIC? Posted: 6/12/2009 2:59:43 PM | | Music is an art form. With a little effort, you can seek out music that'll do more than entertain you. It can raise your social awareness, provoke you to action, even scare and unsettle you. These aren't bad things, folks! The intention of art is to make you think, not just to help you relax. With the internet, if you subscribe to a music website like Rhapsody, you'll have a huge library of music you can sample. Considering all of the different music that's out there, if don't listen to anything except the genre of music you and your buddies are accustomed to listening to, you're missing out. | |

| WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH COUNTRY MUSIC? Posted: 6/15/2009 6:45:16 PM | | I really think its because its more about money than it is real art. In my mind art and economics are two different things. They do, however, have some of the most talented vocal artist in the music industry in my opinion but I think most (not all obviously) of the other country musicians sound like they're just there cuz they couldn't make it elsewhere. Its actually quite easy to get into the county music business if you play an instrument, with the exception of vocalist, which is quite difficult in the country music industry. | |
