Santa has been here too!
I'm on another forum and some very sweet folk from there have sent me presents which was completely unexpected. My tree didn't have pressies under it until all these surprise ones arrived.
I feel really touched and really spoiled and all just for lending an ear when these guys have felt down.
I'm off to a friend's house for the afternoon...I feel that I will end up coming home in a fairly wobbly state at some point later!

It's my first Christmas alone and after all the years of big family get togethers and fun it seems like it's just a couple of days off work. | |

Posted: 12/25/2007 4:12:00 AM | I am on duty on the Gender Trust Helpline most of the day. Transsexual and transgendered folk are often alone at this time of ther year since their families have rejected them and they feel very isolated.
It is no different though for people who are gay or strangely who married out of their faith and have been rejected.
So for those who think they are alone today, please feel sure that whilst your family might not be able to show their love they will more than likely feel the same love inside they had for you before you made whatever decision it was that caused them to alienate you.
It is their problem and not yours and you are definitely NOT alone and to be honest accept you are being spared from all the hyper behaviour that happens to families at xmas.
If anyone cannot cope, remember The Samaritans man their phones all through this season.
If anyone got a gift that was inappropriate to them, save it and give it away next year - getting all upset solves nothing.

As a matter of fact I have has a great xmas without having to dole out abuse to others though I did speak on MSN to a person this afternoon who is on their own who has just been told they are going blind and they wanted to end it all. I remain worried about this guy but then you presumably would be unseasonal about him - he isn't transgender either, he is a straight guy who has diabetes and is feeling desperate and alone.
You may choose to be alone - I do wonder though judging by your approach to others - but then tell that to an old lady I know who is disabled and who lost her husband this year who cried all night last night because he wasn't there for her to say Happy Christmas to him this year. She didn't choose to be alone.
You go have a good christmas though.
I had my kids here since Thursday and when they went to my ex's this morning I breathed a sigh of relief, took my dog for a walk and then ate what I wanted when I wanted it - it was brilliant, but I didn't forget to think about others, the ones you call saddoes - they all got a phone call or a text message. | |

No offence meant apologies if I did so .It pisses me off when being on your own is looked down upon or something that cannot be positive . I have spent christmas on my own through choice .I couldnt imagine anything worse than being with people I did not really want to be with just because its christmas . You are correct though about christmas being a time that can be painful to a lot of people . It was wrong of me to use the word sado .
Hope your christmas was a happy one .
