Posted: 12/26/2007 8:09:45 PM | I agree that Firefox is definitely a more stable browser, but this problem has nothing to do with Firefox vs Internet Explorer, and there is nothing we can do to fix this. It appears that the server all of this information is on is not refreshing correctly. Maybe admin is working with more than one server, and that is why it works for some, and not others, I am not sure. The bottom line is that admin knows about the problem, and all we can do is hang tight and wait for them to fix it. Sucks, doesn't it??

Update your Firefox Browser. All Firefox Users here have outdated Versions.

Posted: 12/26/2007 9:03:38 PM | I doubt one bit the problem relates to the browser being used. To illustrate the point, I've used Safari, Firefox, Opera and Camino with each browser the most recent version and it replicates in every one. I would have to say it is most likely a database query problem.

This happened not too long ago, and admin said it was a server problem....there is no icon under the users pics saying "online now" or "IM user". | |

That is not the problem as things have been working fine up until yesterday. Something has changed on the server end.

Posted: 12/26/2007 9:18:53 PM | This seems like a server problem...My "who viewed me" has not worked in 2 days...My computer is working very well with an exception of this problem....I checked Java that is not the problem....seems like many are having this problem....all other pages are working as normal....I had some friends of mine on here view me who always show up on this page and they haven't shown up in two day.....it has not changed in 2 days
Can you guys see if its a server problem?? thanks

Really, a backend database query problem fits what is going on perfectly as it very well can affect some users while giving others no problems independent of browser used. It's not that unusual for a period of higher use, if that's what initiated this, to cause such problems. It's happened to sites larger and smaller than this and will happen again. It can be a problem in a database itself or on the server hosting a database.

Over the past 30 some years, I have also had systems that run Linux, Windows and DOS but have had the fewest problems with my Macs. If you prefer something else, that's your personal preference and there's nothing wrong with that. Nothing is gained by putting down another's choice. They work the best for the work I do and that's all I care about.

'Online in My City' generates the same people in the same positions, online/IM user not showing, etc. I've rebooted, purged caches, logged out, logged in, checked for adware/malware, basically everything short of unspeakable pagan rituals incorporating barnyard animals.
