This doesn't apply to me. I have dated some black and Hispanic men in the past. Although I'm usually not attracted to Asian men, there are some exceptions to that. I did date 1 Asian man that I was attracted to. | |

The Jim Crow laws were state and local laws enacted in the Southern and border states of the United States and enforced between 1876 and 1965. They mandated "separate but equal" status for black Americans, and were (mostly) anulled by the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
One segment of those laws were the anti-miscegenation laws, also known as miscegenation laws. Those were laws that banned interracial marriage and sometimes interracial sex between whites and members of other races.
Here is example from Florida:
"Any Negro man and white woman, or any white man and Negro woman, who are not married to each other, who shall habitually live in and occupy in the nighttime the same room shall each be punished by imprisonment not exceeding twelve (12) months, or by fine not exceeding five hundred ($500.00) dollars."
Similar laws were also enforced in Nazi Germany and in South Africa during the Apartheid.
So... when you say YOU don't date outside of your race, I don't really care.
But, when you say that members of one race SHOULD ONLY GO after members of that SAME RACE... THEN you are making a RACIST statement.
And you can say whatever you want about not being racist, but THAT STATEMENT WAS A RACIST STATEMENT.

She is entitled to her opinion. However if an opinion is inaccurate, ignorant, or flat out racist. Then other people are entitled to criticize that person for their comments. Telling a black person not to contact a white person is racist. That is completely different that stating "I'm not attracted to black men" or any other group for that matter.

It might come as a surprise, but some people actually have strong beliefs when it comes to equality, or racism... and have enough brains to form an argument...
I am not sure what exactly are you embarrassed about? I would be embarrassed if I thought that Jim Crow laws were good... or if I believed that some people are better than others just on the basis of their skin color.
I am NOT commenting on preferences, but on normative statements that were made.
If you agree with those, than own them up - come out and say it.

I do judge the men I date. I judge how they carry a conversation. How do they smell? Do they make eye contact? NOT ON THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN, EYES, HOW TALL THEY ARE, HOW MUCH THEY WEIGHT, IF THEIR WERE BLESSED TO HAVE 2 WORKING LEGS!! My list goes on....does he call me the second I get in the car saying that was fun? Does my phone start blowing up with text messages? Oh yeah kittenshere I judge my dates but I would never compare myself to you!!!
I added to this post after I read further....I would have never responded to "kittenshere" if I had read her previous posts. Everyone please forgive me. After seeing what she wrote and how she refers to her fellow human being....well enough said:(

It is about sexual orientation, religious and yes race. Most women are not like her most have had to pull theirselves up by the boot straps and deal with plenty....Actions do speak louder than words.

First of all, if you can't stand someone's opinion differing from your own then maybe you shouldn't be in the forums, it's not a place for those who can't take the judgment/criticism/opinions of others.
Secondly, I've read this entire forum, along with each and every incoherent post you have made. A racist is a racist.....you can simply say that you 'prefer' to date w/in your race and leave it at that. But, unfortunately you didn't, you opened yourself up for a royal hosing when you posted the things you did in regards to whom should be allow to contact whom, about races "sticking" to their own, about 'blacks chasing down whites'....and the drivel, nonsensical, racist remarks go on and on. If it is something you believe in so strongly and wholeheartedly then by all means stop being a coward and hiding behind your utterances and cries of "preferences".
Preferences are just that, whether it be to date an older/young gentleman, someone with a particular eye/hair/height/body type/lifestyle, etc. etc. , nationality, religion, or any number of other things that might make you have second thoughts about dating someone else. But, unfortunately you went way beyond simple "preferences" and into the flames of racism.
You should really spend your time educating yourself on spelling and growing beyond your backward prejudices. It's quite apparent that there is a fundamental difference in how you classify yourself and if you consider yourself to have "preferences", then I'd sure hate to see what your definition of true "racism" would be. People like you have nothing better to do then spout off hatred under the guise of racial preferences....my best advice to you is just stay in your trailer and wait for Jerry Spring or Maury to call you!!!!!!!
