I am pretty lax about shaving when I'm single but I don't allow a full beard to grow. | |

I think Op, that is a silly comparison and it's very inconsiderate to some too. I don't have a beard (just shaved the 5'oclock shadow off yesterday), but still it just doesn't sound like it would make much sense to say that just because a person looks a certain way, that they must be single. | |

No, I don't think that you can figure out if a man is single or seeing someone based on whether he shaves his face.
Now, when it comes to gals and shaving... Not shaven legs are probably a good indicator of singledom (and singledom that will last for that matter). As for other body parts... that depends on many factors, and (hopefuly) will not be seen in public... (unless we are talking of someone with Brittney sindrome)

I think short men that are hmmm...lets say under 5'8 , may be a give away that they are single?
Now a guy that has back hair, is most likely single 100% of the time?

Wayyyy back in the day,
when I had the fullest beard I have ever grown,
that looked like something reminiscent of 1980's
ZZ Top, I was married.
My facial hair, and/or lack thereof at times,
has absolutely NOTHING to do with my "status",
and EVERYTHING to do with my mood. | |

Women over 30? = Non-marketable ( poor poor woman...she's losing her "market-value" and is becoming a poor investment:(
Ask a guy where he works? = Gold digger
Accept a dinner invitation? = Gold digger
Offer to pay dutch? = Feminazi, controlling, independent ball busting freak
Have sex on the first date? = Slut, whore, tramp....yesterday's garbage
Don't have sex on the first date? = Cold, manipulative, definetely frigid, unable to trust, addled, not the one, definitely not worthy
Older woman + younger man = The woman is definitely desperate, in denial, a fool, stupid, trying to recapture her youth.
The guy is always and only just looking for a sugar momma...and sex, sex, and more sex ...the old fool is desperate after all.
Older man + younger woman = The man is definitely desperate, in denial, a fool, stupid, trying to recapture his youth.

a) winter
b) I got older and shaving 365 times a year has gotten older yet
c) realized once I got past a certain amount of time it doesn't feel scratchy anymore
And yes, I trimmed it today. Though if it looks overgrown my own favorite madeup saying is "A beard is like wearing a bush on your face!"  
Lots of guys have goatees that are taken. Beards seem to be coming back as long as they're well trimmed. Amazing how many women profiles I read that specifically specify they would like a guy with a goatee. | |

Posted: 12/31/2007 6:10:12 AM | OP, I notice you are single. You seem to have this tendancy to group people. Here you have actually formed two groups both of which are unfounded and unfair. First, you conclude that he must be single because of his unkept beard. When I was married and off for weeks at a time, I would often not shave and the resultant facial growth often became unnattractive both to me and my wife at the time. She often commented on her physical discomfort with my face in this unshaven condition but put up with it because it was my way of saying, "I'm off for a few weeks, don't have to wear a tie, shave, even get dressed if I don't want." So here I defy your grouping as I often needed a shave and yet I was not single.
Now I am single and no longer fly aircraft so I no longer have weeks off at a time. I shave every day both for work and obviously in my vainity to attract the chicks. Not really but maybe a little. So here is one guy that completely defies your logic. If you do that kind of unfair grouping of people in other areas as well, all such and such people always must be such and such, you may be single for some time to come. Because you will never have a serious, loving and caring relationship with a group. You will only have that with an individual. And each of us individuals are unique. Learn. | |

Posted: 1/6/2008 1:08:52 PM | I've gone clean-shaven, mustached, goatee (sometimes w/long sideburns), and bearded. It's called throwing a little variety into the mix, so I don't become bland and predictable.
The being single is by choice, and some women have said I look distinguished with the beard. Others say it makes me look older. Regardless, it's all a matter of opinion, and if a female won't accept me because of how I prefer to keep MY face, then she's not the one for me.
Oh, and I've had girlfriends while sporting all facial hair styles. | |
