| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/7/2008 6:18:50 AM | Does that apply to wimmen as well?????

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/7/2008 7:03:49 AM | Hey!!! Watch it!!!!
I think short men that are hmmm...lets say under 5'8 , may be a give away that they are single?
I resemble that remark!!!
oh wait.... I am 5'7" and I am single.....
never mind! | |

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/7/2008 7:04:59 AM | My ex of 15 years *always* wanted me to have a close trimmed beard, she still comments on it after the fall time change, (winter) and I've been single for 4 years.
I wear a goatee now, but have had nothing, a full beard, or a scruffy combo at any given moment in the meantime.
I don't have a preference on how/what a woman does with her hair, nor should she about what I do with my face........unless it's painful, that is.

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/7/2008 9:12:32 AM | | God I hope not otherwise I am doomed, I was clean shaven when I was married cos she didn't like it but because I prefer, well its not massive, a beard I have let it grow. Besides if I shave it off I look like 20 odd and who wants to look 20 again :) or Boris Becker, not sure which is worse. | |

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/9/2008 7:46:37 PM | This might be a tad off topic, but on the flip side of things, when a woman sports a full facial beard, it does mean she works at Tim Hortons.
Cheers | |

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/9/2008 8:08:05 PM | meh, some girls liked the feeling of my facial hair against their boobies.
TBH i groom just as much single or not. For myself not others. Even with a beard I'd still shave every day.

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/9/2008 8:15:43 PM | | The only time I ever grew a goatee was when I was with a women. It was her I idea, and since I had to shave anyway ... | |

EB1 please tell me you aren't doing research to see if you have to grow one

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/9/2008 9:23:42 PM | Scruffy or not doesn't mean a thing.
My last girlfriend preferred me scruffy. I'm still a scruffy guy and now I'm single. So it could be ether.

There seriously are jobs where you're not allowed to have a beard even if its well groomed? That must suck alot. I've had two such jobs. Specifically, I was in the Air Force for six years and worked at Disneyland for two. Neither allows beards.

thats like saying all fat chicks must be single because what guy would put up with that.
TOO FUNNY!!!
I don't think it means anything. Most women prefer me with stubble. I think the best indication is by looking at his ring finger or just asking him. Pretty easy!
I think elementary school taught it best...Assuming makes an Ass out of U and ME lol

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/9/2008 10:21:32 PM | Men with beards are as sexy as hell! Especially if its more than just a few days growth so it's tickly not prickly | |
|
| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/9/2008 10:26:49 PM | OP your question...what woman wouldnt **** about that??? um alot including me:)
I loveee scruffy I mean yea sure clean shaven is nice too but I like the scruff its a turn on. Its only too bad that didnt work both ways when it comes to our stubble huh
|
| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/9/2008 11:38:25 PM | I had a beardd. I shaved it to a goatee for an interview. Got the job, grew it back. Then I went thru 4 stages of beard cutting, trimming, growing and met a woman who loved my Red beard. Just as long as it was a well trimmed beard.
Stubble can indicate stress levels, happiness and otherwise getting over a sickness. His skin may be sensitive and cutting and ergo, not shaving.
He might be a free spirit on the back of a motorbike living free. chuckle
He might be changing his look from goatee to full beard. It looks whack until fully grown out again. :)

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/10/2008 3:46:46 AM | | I can't speak for every man on the face of the earth, but personally, I grow a short, well-trimmed beard in the winter to keep my face warm. I tend to get comments stating that I look better with a beard then clean-shaven, but the rough and rugged look is popular out here in the wilderness. The fact that I haven't had so much as a date in a while has very little to do with it. | |

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/10/2008 4:16:43 AM | HUH?
That it a HUGE leap there LOL!
Go to any Muslim country and tell that to the droves of guys there, some with many wives and girlfriends lol.
But I assume you're talking about guys here, in the Western World. Still, the OP's hypothesis is slightly wrong. I think what you're getting at, is if a guy can't be bothered to groom himself, then that must mean he's single. That might be true in some cases, but single guys usually want to ATTRACT women, and since a lot of women prefer clean shaven or stubbly men, then logic dictates that those single men will shave a lot more.
On the other hand, some dude who has been married or cohabiting with someone for x amount of years, may feel that he can't be bothered to shave, given that he already has someone. So the given hypothesis of the OP is, in my opinion, a false one.

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/10/2008 6:19:07 AM | I'd say a beard was high maintenance, think of all that food you have to keep out of it, plus my ex thought it was incredibly itchy. I would hope any future partner of mine would have a beard 'cause i like them :D As for women who are hairy.. doesn't that usually indicate that she's 'not' single LOL. | |
|
| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/10/2008 9:00:58 AM | | It takes me longer to maintain a beard everyday than it does to be clean shaven. | |

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/10/2008 11:35:28 AM | I would think it's about personal taste. I shaved off my beard because it annoyed me after a while. I don't think it denotes anything about a guy, but I could be wrong.

| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/11/2008 5:37:53 PM | I've work a beard of some type since I was 16 (wow - almost 40 years ago) - in relations, dating, not dating, whatever
There are definately women who do not like beards and others who do
btw - if one cares for their beard (conditioning, etc) it is soft not scratchy
|
| Beards? indicate single? Posted: 1/11/2008 8:52:12 PM | | You never know, maybe they have facial hair and are not single because the woman likes a clit tickler. | |
