Are you sure that it's true that ethanol is killing the environment?

The DEAD ZONE created in the sea and nitrogen runoff water is ideal for algae growth which......can be used to press OIL! The leftover carbohydrates can be used to make ethanol, the cellulose cow feed, any other waste fuel and on we go 21st century! The whole thing (I think...) entirely self sustaining.

Look , Corn Ethanol is very easy to explain.

Gas went up over $2 per gallon in the 70s
We decided we needed energy independence
Ethanol was a crazy new plan to fix it
Turns out that it doesn't work all that well with Corn, the crop the US used
Iowa liked the free hand outs
Harken refused to ever let those free handouts die
Media brainwashing from people like Harken and people who don't want a real alternative fuel convinced people ethanol was good
We're stuck here paying 1.50 to 1.85 for a dollar of fuel

Now, fun facts
Sugar Ethanol increases energy output 8 fold instead of the negative return with corn
A gallon of E15 is worse for your car and burns dirtier
A gallon of E15 costs more than a gallon of regular fuel, except for subsidies in the energy bill
Many nations on earth condemn corn ethanol as needlessly destroying food and raising world food prices.
There are no major scientists that support Corn Ethanol anymore, the idea was that on a large enough scale it would work. Turns out there isn't enough landmass on earth for that to be the case. e.g. The idea was that a 1.04x increase done enough times would help. In practice a .9x increase (which is secretly a decrease) doesn't improve no matter how much you do it.

Look to the sea fishies! Algae is self sustaining and the sea is two thirds of the planet.

Ethanol from algae is happening in Mexico. It is being grown in the desert with sea-water. 2010 they will produce 1 billion gallon.

"Algenol Biofuels" They have plans to build in California.

Now if there were just any Sea water and desert.............

It is carbon neutral. In fact they had to build a coal power plant to furnish Co2.

The US air force will be growing it on bases and will be using it for fuel this year....

Researchers say that a pond the size of New Jersey could produce enough fuel to supply the transportation needs of the country. By contrast, an area larger than the United States would be needed to grow enough corn to meet the nation's energy needs.

How big is that dead zone....8000 sq miles?
