What's with the one sentence or even one word replies?

Hey if that one sentence is a good one, cool.

Opening e-mails ought to give one something to go on though. If someone can do that with one sentence.. they seriously ought to e-mail me.

Bravo Alex89! And if I may add to that- the women actually think they are being polite by not responding! I personally respond to evey email, espescially to say I am not interested. THAT is the polite thing to do...

Honestly, sometimes we just don't know what to say. If you give us a compliment, and although we may not be interested, it seems rude to not acknowlegdge your email. So, I guess it's the "nice" girl's way of saying, thanks, but no thanks.

On the other hand, some women just aren't well versed in the art of conversation, and/or they may be shy, hence the lack of open-ended questions.

But most likely, they're just not that into you and they feel it would be rude to not respond at all.

wow...let me rephrase what this topic should have asked..
ive been talkin to this lady for a week now. awesome chic. our conversations tend to b more of me writng and her responding with a few words or sometimes a sentence. i would assume shes interested but she never really writes more than sentence. she flirts and all but what should i assume from this? im not asking for a novel or a full letter but rather more than a few words at a time. so do i assume shes interested because she does write, and responds but not really anything long. i asked her out tonight and she is considering it. is it weird to meet someone in real life from this site is another question i have?
i have nothing but respect for women so plz b nice lol.

I've gotten one reply that was something like that.

I assumed she was a) not interested, and b) trying, in her own way, to be nice by responding at all.

As to whether I would prefer read/deleted or unread/deleted...no preference really.
