He's saying that they tell you three times that you're exceeding the message limit, then they delete your facebook account. By someone saying that they message too much for facebook rules, I would have to logically assume that the limit would be more than three messages per day.

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 2/5/2008 7:22:25 PM | Here is what I found:
Why won't it let me send more messages? You have been temporarily blocked from using this feature because you exceeded a Facebook limit that is based on the speed and quantity of use. These blocks prevent spammers from abusing the message features. Your privileges will be restored within a few hours.
I have never received warnings and I guess he received 3 and chose to ignore them

remains...I am right about the limitations on facebook.Challenging me on that point
will not change the facts. This information is readily available.

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 2/8/2008 2:46:48 PM | I think I'm going to do a clean house on facebook this weekend and get rid of all those freaking apps and disable any kind of notification. I like the pluses of facebook but am thinking of getting rid of it still. I love how you can share pictures on it and plan things with your friends though.
I just feel a bit overwhelmed with all the notifications and requests that fly in.
|
| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 2/8/2008 6:05:06 PM | I don't accept any applications at all. I've actually deleted people who just continually send them to me. Don't poke me, don't beer me, don't send me stupid lame jokes on my wall. It absolutely drives me batty. But, facebook is good...for what it is. Keeping up with friends and finding those that you've lost touch with.
That being said, I have no idea how anyone could track you down from here. My last name isn't on here...so how would they find you on another site? If I was worried about it, I would set all the privacy settings and only accept friend requests from those I know. They can't really bother you if you don't allow them to.

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 2/9/2008 6:36:51 AM | | Well, apparently I was wrong. (Yes, I freely admit it when I am). I was tracked pretty easily on Facebook. No idea how...but I can still ignore people on there if I don't want to talk to them, so its still all good. | |
|
| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 2/10/2008 11:21:51 AM | | I use facebook about as much as I come on POF. Not a big fan of facebook really. At least POF has forums like this and you don't get a million invites a week for dumb little apps like Zombies or stupid events you never want to go to. | |

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 2/15/2008 5:06:23 AM | | Facebook is good as long as you don't take all the sh*t in unfiltered. All the funwall mess, the "gifts", the silly games that use a Commodore Vic 20-style random number generating program. (racing, pirates, dope wars..etc where you go head to head against other people and the games are all nothing more than the SAME dice rolling program over and over again). Facebook is good as long as it's kept simple. My little sister has over 500 "friends" on there while my "twin" sister has a little over 100 like me. | |

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 2/15/2008 9:58:50 AM | | lol - I checked out my son's Facebook - 1276 friends. There are over 1300 pictures in various albums. He's road tripping in Australia and I'm waiting for the next upload of pictures. Thanks to Facebook I can keep up to date on his life. | |

Perhaps it is my age, but I personally have not had any problems with facebook. Most of the folks on my facebook site are relatives, or kids that went to school with my kids.

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 3/9/2008 6:17:50 PM | just commenting in the box because I just encountered this... If you use your MSN as your facebook email... and you add someone from POF to MSN, they just have to put your email into the facebook search engine to find your facebook account... Most people will do this just a warning so that you don't flip and go crazy on someone who thought to do a search, if you want facebook private you have to set the privacy setting so that you can't be found... And if you are going to be so upset because someone from your MSN found you then why are they on your MSN ( we are talking about unblocked undeleted people)
When did the world become so sensitive?

And so can the police, his angry psycho stalker ex-gf, his parole officer, people he owes money to, the guys who realize he is on vacation so they can easily go and rob his home (cause he probably has his mailing address on there too), future employers who want to invade his privacy and decide not to hire him because of some joke remark he makes on his blog or some human rights group he supports, the criminals who steal his identity, the pervs who live in australia, etc etc.
People really just do not understand the global implications of using Facebook and the dangers of it. The dangers are very real, and people need to smarten up.

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 4/13/2008 7:11:40 AM | Umm are you even on facebook??? Their privacy settings are REALLY good Sure maybe the police can still get in, but the other people aren't going to. I don't even have my address or phone # on my profile for my friends to see so maybe you need to stick to the conspiracy thread | |

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 4/13/2008 7:55:19 AM | | Bubble, if you are that afraid of Facebook, then why are you on any public site at all. If people are dumb enough to post things on their facebook page, that they don't want others to see...well, they deserve it. They also have these great little settings, called privacy settings that allows people to see, only what they want. Facebook is also not twisting anyone's arm to post their address, phone number and other pertinent information. You wouldn't post your address on this site, so why would you do it on facebook? Here's a thought. Lead your life in a way that won't cause you to get in trouble...and generally you won't. Don't post nude pics of yourself on facebook and hope that it doesn't affect your job. Use your head, use your privacy settings...its not that complicated. | |

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 4/13/2008 9:46:02 PM | When you put yourself out there on a dating site you should take safety measures and give very little information out about yourself(i understand this stuff will happen regardless) at least trying to play safe is better then giving up information that would allow such people to find you else where with little effort.
When these things happen report these people and do what you can to block them.

My comments are meant for those folks who take no precautions, which is a large number of folks. Their ridiculously detailed blogs and personal pages along with their long list of every friend they have known since Grade II, etc. Incidently the so called blocking and security options on Facebook are more easily surmounted then you probably realize.

| From POF to Facebook....tracking you down Posted: 6/23/2008 11:06:52 PM | | If anyone is just browsing different profiles and came accross your picture . They can only get in contact with you if you except their friend's request. O and once you have added anyone as a friend. I found that even if you delete them, they still will have you on their facebook account. But they will not be able to see or keep track on what is happening on your's, as long as you disable that application.... | |
