" Actually, the emphasis on the dogs, the lawn as well as the comment about “no pride in ownership” brings across the cynical attitude you have. I clearly see that your anger and frustration needs to be addressed before you come to terms with your identity. "

Oh please ,don't patronize me, my anger came from the fact that you basically called me a liar, and you appeared to base your comments on the colour of my skin. Come to terms with my identity??? Get off your high horse, and stop playing psychologist, you know nothing about me. I don't know where you grew up, but there were several reserves where I grew up, and they all had the same sypmtoms. Many houses were in poor repair, dogs running loose, and yards littered with junk. Alcoholism, drug abuse, and suicide occur at a much higher rate than the rest of society. This is the simple truth. I know it's not 'politically correct' to point these things out, but you can't fix what you don't acknowledge. Again, if you re-read my initial comment I brought up these issues with regard to the the cycle of poverty that many people on reservations have fallen into, and how it all started with the historical wrongs inflicted on them. The problem is that simply throwing money at these issues is not enough to fix them. People, any people, who suffer from these problems must be active participants in their own recovery. There are some very successful reservations throughtout the province, and some that are not successful at all. Ask yourself why that is. Enough said.
