OP -- I don't think I've ever made love to someone all night, but I know for sure that I have been able to on several occasion make love to them through the night. Maybe started at 9PM and ended up goin' to bed/sleep finally at around 3AM or so.
In my experiences, the best sex I've had has been both very quick and also the longer more drawn out episodes. I can say I've had the best sex that was maybe 10 minutes if that...it was over so quick, but WOW the passion explosion was intense on both sides. But I can also say that I've had the best sex when we started early on and went on and on for hours afterwards. I still prefer the longer sessions, because that usually involves a lot of foreplay and teasing and such before the main event...but just the same, a quickie here and there can be just as good if not better. Just depends on the mood and the partner you're with.
If both of us just wanna f*ck because we can't stand it anymore, then I'll take the quickie. If we both wanna enjoy seducing each other instead, I'll take the long drawn out sessions. One thing I will say is that if she hasn't had at least one orgasm, I'll do what I can to remedy that so that neither party feels "deprived". It's the least I can do.

A confident woman will tell you when she has had enough of one course and wants to move to the main dish. There are 3 dimensions to great lovemaking in my opinion: 1) lengthy foreplay and kissing, 2) the passionate throws of intercourse in a variety of positions, 3) the afterplay where both meld together in an exhausted heap where the most sensitive and intimate of conversation/touching takes place. Then there is the 24 hour afterglow that puts spring in our step and smiles to everyone we meet.
There is also something to be said for quick passionate sex like fast food on the run to tide us over until there is more time for the lengthier opportunities.

I've gone as short as 5 minutes: in a bathroom at a party. The girlfriend loved to do the tango in semi-public. Not to risk being seen but to know its naughty and other people are just outside the door.
I don't know exactly how long my longest was as the clock is usually the last thing on my mind. If you count naked massage without actual penetration then I have to guess around four to five hours. If touching of "interesting bits" is required to qualify then two to three hours.
Maybe next time I'll put a lap timer beside the bed and record the time to reach each stage. Think a woman would mind?
