Yeah, the girl I was planning on spending it with ditched me. I ended up watching DVDs, eating korean food, and playing computer games.

At midnight I was vacuuming the living room. :( The kids were asleep (of course) and even my cats had abandoned me for the night. I told my husband good night on the phone at about 11:30 and wished I wasn't looking forward to another year of being married and alone with the kids. Such is life, I suppose.

I did not--but only because I was stuck in a chalet (not as fancy as it sounds!) in the mountains--the road was closed. If I HADN'T been there, I would GLADLY have spent it alone. I love being alone.

I was "alone" this New Year's (no other adult, though I did have my little boy). It was alright, though. Let me tell you, though, having a significant other does NOT guarantee you won't be alone on New Year's. During our last New Year's, my ex-wife spent it with her friend getting drunk, instead of spending it with me (leaving me totally alone for the evening). And last year, even though my then-girlfriend and I live very close, I spent New Year's alone because her daughter was sick. I understand that, but she didn't even want to talk on the phone that night to say Happy New Year.

Is it just me, or was this new year kind of a dud for everyone? (stayed home, under the 30-year mark)

I propose we make a resolution that this doesn't happen again next year.

I've been sick since about the 27th and my g/f at the time broke up with me at 6pm 12/31/07 on instant messenger. its only been about 2 months, but she said she suddenly realized she needed more time alone since her last breakup and wasnt ready for a committed relationship with me. (damn, 6 years since my last serious g/f, i find a great woman, and this happens for this reason). awell, no point in crying. it doesnt work it doesnt work. time to move on. new year, new notch, maybe even new love. this year will be better than the last.

Was supposed to meet a potential friend but called him at 7 pm and he had been out drinking already so I figured screw it. Went out by myself - met some friends - stayed out until 3:30 am, walked home alone (small, small town) but had a good time overall.

However, my resolutions - no men for 2008 (after disastorious 2007, 06, 05, etc), cut down on drinking, and get into a size 6 before summer. So far no drinks, no men, and 1 bag of top ramen a day - 4 days of hell but I'll stick to it....at least until reality sits in.

Hi Latte,

Great resolutions, I hope they all work out for you. Don't you just love walking down the streets of a very very very small town early in the morning before the dawning light? You are going to do great but do consider adding fresh veggies and fruits with your top ramen, watch out for the sodium, and drinks lots of water. Doing that will put a natural glow on your already beautiful face.

Pretty,

Thank you!!!

I understand your advice on the adding veggies and fruits. I just want to get my calories down right now and then I'll add more. I take a vitamin now and will add the rest when I'm out of this eating faze right now. Actually I did have some raw snow peas..yum. Chocolate was high on the list the week before NYE.

It is beautiful to walk in the town early. The snow, the fresh air, the sounds of the small town, it was beautiful.

It depends on what you consider alone OP. I didn't spend it with a man, but I spent it with my friend, her son, and my son, so I wouldn't consider it being alone, although I know some people would consider it that way just because they don't have a partner.

Isnt' the world great! when you can go shopping even on New Years Eve after hours. Who could ask for more?. Buy yourself a new pair of shoes on New Years Eve, and you just know that the New Year is going to be a goodun to step into. Start the New Year as you mean to go on I always say (full of life's little indulgences).

My FWB came over about 3:00 in the afternoon and we (along with my neighbor) played a marathon game of Wailea Open Golf on the N64 for about 10 hours. Yeah I got lucky, no one got drunk, all had fun!

i visited a friend in jail earlier in the evening, then went for a walk,

Awww, Dat was ~Nice~ of ya. (~sincerity~ / No sarcasm)
EveryOne should be So *Lucky* , to Have a Friend - That ... is Such a *Good* Friend ...
as to Visit them , in Jail , On New Yrs Eve.

Bet (the Farm) , You Made Their Day!

Yup - AlOne (sorta). I did have a couple 'visitors' , Drove them around - to a couple of stores.
Why is this (?) in 'Broken Hearts'? New Yrs Eve really isNT the 'best' night to 'hit the town'
(now , Is It?)

I have Not went 'Out' , on New yrs Eve - for about 10/15 yrs. I much Prefer to Stay In,all SAFE, Sound. T R U T H.

At Midnight , i Like to ~KNOW~ , that All my LOVED ones are SAFE, all 'tucked in' for zee Night , Ready to Face .... AnOther year.
