| Twilight Zone Posted: 1/9/2008 9:22:19 AM | | Happy New Year all. TZ ~ hey, what can I add. Rod Serling was beyond writers of his time perhaps due in part to his own dark experiences. Casting of the show was superb and his narration at the end of the show so often chilling. My passion for the show has lasted well over 40 years. My favorite? Perhaps, not my favorite, but the one that haunts me the most, (being a child who experienced bomb shelter practices in school, and hearing the bombers fly to Griffiths Air Force Base in Rome, NY) is "The Shelter". (forgive me if it's not the name of it) I splurged and purchased THE COMPLETE DIFINITIVE COLLECTION (28 dvd set) but waiting for a special TZ'er to christen it with me and renew all the classics and clips. Rod Serling was psychologically thrilling in his writing, he didn't need the blood and guts and violence kids seem to thrive on today for entertaining and keeping our attention. 2008, it's going to be a great year! | |
