Posted: 1/4/2008 3:21:38 AM | Do more of it, Men are forced to stick their neck out and face rejection, in life and online women can take up a bit of that themselves.
Just don't get discouraged if you don't get messaged back or you don't get the response you'd like, but I actually got messaged by a girl yesterday and I'd probably visited her profile about 3-4 times before that, just wasn't sure if she'd be interested.
So sometimes it'll surprise you. Give it a shot. Hell, if they reply and you have second thoughts and decide maybe they weren't the best choice then you still got the option of not taking the conversation any further... believe me, women do it all the time.
If nothing else, it's entertaining. | |

that she would make 'First Contact' . .
I've done several searches, but understand that some women that haven't shown up on them
- for whatever reason -
still may find me interesting enough to at least start a conversation with me . .

If a woman makes the first approach, the guy will most likely be flattered. It shows him that she finds him attractive. A guy has no way of knowing that women find him attractive (unless they approach him, flirt with him, or flat out tell him). Outgoing ladies are my favorite! If a woman plays hard-to-get or pretends that she doesn't notice, then I usually believe her and pass on by. | |

Some guys are put off by confident/assertive women (and I know that initiating contact doesn't necessarily mean she's that), but I actually admire those qualities in a woman. | |

Posted: 1/6/2008 12:02:02 AM | I am new to this site, but I have initiated contact with men I find interesting on this and other sites. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. I especially like this site because you can see if the person has read your email and if they deleted it or just chose not to answer. I also don't post my picture, I want someone to be curious enough to ask. I also will make first contact with a man that doesn't have a picture. Sometimes looks can cloud your judgement and you can miss out on meeting some really great people.

confidence & self-belief (which some lack, despite the fact they r good looking and all that)
Its not mandatory just because a woman made the first move, that something would materialise from it, but i'll try to reply regardless!!!
Its neither a law nor is it written anywhere in the books that guys must make the first contact (afterall, all humans are supposed to be equal regardless of sex)
So ladies, if u fancy a guy out there, just swallow your pride & give him a shout...

Posted: 1/6/2008 10:46:26 AM | Ok so i have read almost all the responses to this thread and it seem like us women have had nothing to say on the subject....
I am the type of girl that does not like games or wasting time. I have contacted the men first and 9 out of 10 times they read the msg and did not bother to respond.
Once someone has taken the time to contact me I reply not matter who the person is it is just respect full. To everyone playing this game of fishing we all know that making contact first is difficult due to the rejection aspect of things.
I beleieve that women would be more inclined to contact first if the ppl we are contacting would give us the respect of responding with a simple "I am glad you show interest in me, however I do not feel that you are my type" or something along those lines instead of just reading and deleting the msg and ignoring us all together.
Well if I have not contacted you first ....lol then feel free to contact me. I rather send a few emails back and forth and then hook up for coffee I feel that many women on here are all talk and no action... And guys for the women who dont respond to your first contact chances are they weren't worth your time anyway.
