Some guys are shy, and some are just plain lazy and think everything should be handed to them so they don't message. I wouldn't think that they would be freaked out. I personally like a woman that can show guts. | |

OP,
Some guys like it, others don't. If you really like someone you should approach him. Just make sure not to crack some stupid joke, and scare them away....I tend to do that...

I did something similar asking women if they were comfortable with making first contact. Interestingly enough, about half said they would, and yet, nothing in my inbox... Oh well... haha.
Yeah, you don't need to worry about what they think. If they think you're being too forward, thats their problem, not yours. | |

However, when sending a first message, be you man or woman, you have to be prepared for the possibility of not hearing back from that person. It's a chance you have to take, unless you just want to sit on your hands and do nothing. | |

Posted: 2/3/2008 6:19:34 AM | After putting in my 2 cents here about a month ago, I decided to come back and check on things. I started to send more emails to men just making friendly comments about them, their profile, their photos, etc. I've gotten some really nice responses....from those that were interested and those that were just being polite. Both were a nice and welcome surprise.
Of course, I also got the "read/deleted" and "unread/deleted" responses too. That's okay. It just let me know that I shouldn't have an interest in those particular men anyway. I have to admit, I was tempted to send a second email telling them they should remove all references to what a nice guy there are from their profiles. 
I think if more people would at least send a friendly, polite response (whether they are interested or not), then more people (both men and women) would feel inclined to send first contact emails. | |

I agree.....I would rather have some kind of response than none at all. Now if I can only get brave enough to try contacting someone first again....lol | |
