I would say I initiate first contact maybe 20% of the time, at most.. I don't have the time or patience to go through profile after profile.. it is almost always initiated by the girl.. at least in my case.

It's not very old fashioned but, if I see that a girl has peeked and my profile and hasn't written anything, I'm going to assume that she was not interested in what she saw. If she is not outgoing enough to tell me what she's thinking, then she's probably not my type anyway.

I hate it. Why can't women just wait to be rescued like in the good old days? What's inspired this new motivation to initiate first contact? Women should just lie low and play it cool until something interesting occurs, like children they should be seen and not heard, and shouldn't speak until spoken to.

Have had many women contact me first. Kind of builds your ego up. However they were not in the age group that I am interested in. Therefore, I have never met any of them in person.

I like to look at the info on the profile that they provide about themselves (and no not just height and occupation). And yet, despite all the guys here in this thread who say they love it, I'm seeing very few responses. Just like some guys complain that women can't even say "thanks but no thanks", many guys are the same way. Just goes to show how the street flows both directions. But it hasn't stopped me from trying...

Personally I think first contact from a woman gets them bonus points at the outset because it does not happen nearly as often as men making first contact.

I find it to be a huge plus as it means she's got the guts to go outside the box and actively work for what she wants. I also find it to be insanely rare though lol.

I think it's fine if the person who makes the initial first contact understands and accepts that they are taking on the role of pursuer which is traditionally the man's role. Once you take on this role don't immediately try to step back into a pursuee role and expect the other person to jump right into pursuing you. Follow through with what you started and it will have much better chances of moving forward.
